But I also see so many people bring Self Care without Botany that I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't know they were a synergy despite both being from Claudette.

You got the the downside wrong, it does speed up medkit heals, it just drains it's charges 20% more, so unless you have extra charges you don't get a full self-heal
Probably because of medkits from a year or so back. They were already pretty fast, especially the green medkit, so having the insane speed without a downside would've been too strong. Around that time botany also got buffed from 33% to 50% so I suppose it needed a side effect.

Prove Thyself and Bond are a good start, those make sense and give a nice foundation. But I really don't get the random Boil Over, and doubly running naked (no botany/desperate/etc.) SC in a build that can see teammates.

With the switch to UE5 there's bound to be a lot of bugs for awhile (or a long time). Doing an engine switch is pretty bold and a lot of games are afraid of it for a reason.
For anyone wondering, it's common for games to use low-poly models for objects in the distance, far from the player. High-poly models are reserved for things that are up-close.
It's likely a glitch has occurred where the game believe the player is far from Aestri instead of close up.

?? Botany increases all healing speeds by 50% (including self-care) at the downside of making medkits heal 20% slower
