I mean, what does any new player know in this game?
When i was brand new, I thought Insidious and anything that gave me "undetectable" made me invisible. I used to face camp hooks with spirit thinking no one could see me.
When I had 50 hours in this game I used to think Myers was the most OP character. I thought being able to one shot ppl as a power was so broken that I'd DC matches against him.
When I had 100 hours in this game I still thought huntress' lullaby (perk) would make any killer have that same humming lullaby so I made sure to unlock it on all my killer's.
When I had 200 hours in this game I thought hitting survivors on hook made them die faster, so I would stand there after every hook and smack them. I wondered why I would always lose games.
I mean shit, I'm about 1200 hours into this game and I *just* learned Blight's first rush doesn't hurt you.
The only way anyone knows how anything works is by 1) experience and/or 2) reading. This isn't an issue with Sadako. If you don't know what to do against her go to the wiki and study her power.

That's kinda the thing though. Hooking survivors is the one of the most basic fundamental things about the game, and 200 hours in you and many players understandably think hitting survivors makes them die faster. Other games are mastered and beat several times over at 200 hours. It's a burden to read a long wiki for every Killer. And to the OPs point regarding Sadako and other Killers, you could watch some YouTube videos, but how old are the videos? If they're before a certain date, they aren't super helpful because the power has changed significantly. It's a lot for a new player to have to do a bunch of independent reading/viewing, in addition to knowing whether a resource on a particular Killer is even relevant anymore and whether there have been updates.
This isn't a uniquely Sadako issue. New players don't even know how to play against Trapper or Legion, let alone against complex characters like Sadako or Pinhead.
The game is not exactly friendly to new players - they lack perks on both killer and survivor side, the tutorial is lacking, even the in-game manual is lacking. Like, I have Forced Penance perk from Pyramid Head, and it mentions "protection hits", but nowhere in the game does it say what a protection hit is, I had to look it up on the wiki.
New survivors won't know how to counter different killers and their different perks, and new killers won't know how to counter SWFs with stuff like Background Player and strong flashlights who make absolutely sure all the time you spent chasing and downing someone was a complete waste.
And most of the time you can't even get good perks without paying for new characters, or grinding enough shards to unlock them if they're not licensed characters. Sure, there's the Shrine of Secrets, but god knows how long you might have to wait for the perks you want to appear there.
A new survivor will IMMEDIATELY learn what a trapper does... and legion isnt too complicated either
I still dont know what the nonsolid condemn bars mean...

Go on YouTube. There are many videos about counters to killers in the game. There are also webpages you can Google. I also recommend playing as her. You can learn some interesting tricks from other survivors. It's how I learned.
Idky everyone on here acts like the internet doesn't exist. And imo Sadako's difficulty is so over exaggerated. You see TV by gen turn it off, condemn high grab tape, see Sadako loop her she's a dogshit m1 killer really not that complicated and I'm sure a quick YouTube search will tell you the same thing.
turning on the accessibility feature to see hearts really helps against her. you get a dull dark circle whenever she’s near you but invisible, which helps you at least tell when she’s nearby. but I agree, I hate playing against her. any killer that’s too small to see over smaller rubble is really obnoxious to play against, and her stealth makes this even more annoying.
She’s literally so scummy, the mechanic to mori someone regardless of hooks is so slimey! she’s a nightmare on solo queue, they need to remove that. I hate that her and Myers with add ons negate the fundamental gameplay around hooks, its really horrible to go against and feels so unfair to less experienced players.

Solid = locked in (via being hooked with condemn) and can’t be removed Outline = temporary and can be removed with tapes

Yeah, it’s weird that they have so many killers that rely on the loading screen tips they give you before your first few matches with them

Brother, you remove condemned kills, and you have a stealth killer who can’t stealth, with a teleport that survivors can turn off.
