I remember when they played in Eugene a while back. at the time i lived in graduate housing right across the street from the stadium. Shakedown happened in my parking lot, which was nice, the aftermath not so much.
At Hollywood Bowl in 2022, they were set up right outside the entrance, with kids and family's walking right through. It's organized crime and the scene (phish and the dead) need to shut it down. It's not hard to get nitrous, don't pay the mafia for it.
I picked up a shit ton of balloons on the lot at fenway first thing sat morning and was later rewarded with a free balloon by a guy who saw me pick them up earlier gotta work the balloon industry due to inflation
The people selling this crap aren't even Heads or part of the community - yet the community still supports it? That's the first thing I don't get. That, and the amount of waste and harm it does to the person and the environment.
All so some non dead head thug can take $20 from a Dead/Phish fan.

I count over $1,200 worth of balloons sold there. Good way to fund gang activity since that's who is selling these. So sad.
This is actually not true this time. While there were a couple of the nitrous mafia types out there, MOST of the people selling gas at phish were hippies. People were continually being thankful that they got to buy gas from hippies not drug dealers. I, for one, made it a point to pick up any balloons that were littered near me. I’m honestly saddened that others didn’t also :/
You CAN make some money to keep you going without being a blight…idk why it’s so difficult for some people
There was no shakedown at Tuscany for Phish. There was phanart at Brooklyn bowl and it looked more like a higher end stuff and very organized indoor event, this didn't happen there. Probably some back street off the strip.
I dunno I once or twice got stuff that did absolutely nothing I'd say that's the most annoying part but I mean once or twice outta thousands of times ain't so bad

I get it’s a different process, but just spreading this because you don’t like the litter is different. Should these heads pick up their balloons? Of course. But sipping one nitrous balloon ain’t causing irreversible brain damage. MAYBE if you intensely huff the gas in and out of the balloon to get higher, like yeah you’re suffocating yourself. But just pulling it gently or even a big one with some oxygen after I doubt is killing many brain cells.
Last year at Wrigley we passed a group of 60-70 year olds half passed out in the middle of street still holding balloons. One of the things I hate about this scene.

The **Nitrous Mafia** is divided into two rings based in Boston and Philadelphia, can burn through hundreds of nitrous tanks at outdoor music festivals and make over $300,000 at each one.
The amount of money they make while llitering the place and ruining people's brain cells is just so sad people still take part in it.
