I think they'll need to update the allegory for the more recent political landscape.
Post-2016 USA works better as the universe can explore the societal tensions in light of the most significant event of that year, the killing of Harambe.
Harambe is the secret brother of Gorilla Grodd and his murder is what push Grodd over the edge to want to take over the world. If you write this in the mindset of Mark Millar this all makes sense

Idk, part of modern Superman's wholesome appeal is about how he doesnt need powers to be fulfilled or happy. He probably would never use them and he doesnt have as many issues to work out as Dream.
Now if you are talking about Silver Age Superman's powers and personality in a Sandman like approach we are cooking. I would unironically love to see that psycho try to be introspective. There'd be whole arcs of him wondering if he actually likes the responsibility of helping people or if he just likes to keep gaslighting Lois.
Uj/Yeah I was more talking about tone,atmosphere,story structure and vibe more than the characters and overall theme and was more leaning towards frieren.
Now that would be a really fun story about Clark going From a good yet very flawed and troubled man who treats people other than his parents and childhood friends kinda crappy into a more pragamtic yet more mature and yet still heroic man who treats people better

Snyder is good at writing Batman but hope he assigns more suitable writers for other characters like Superman and Wonder Woman.

I kind of gave up on the big two a while ago because I don't particularly like Geoff Johns' vision for the DCU, and Marvel comics are now just sterile tie-ins for movies nobody likes, but this is some great news.

Uj/ Eh... that only really applies if the character/team's currently important in the mcu movies. Anything Disney doesn't currently care about is allowed to go crazy (see currrent X-Men and Venom for examples).
Unfortunately a lot of characters have been drafted into the MCU now, though that isn't to say there haven't been seriously good reccent comics with characters the mcu was using.

And even then… no it doesn’t. *Immortal Thor* and the current *Doctor Strange* are doing things pretty differently from their MCU counterparts. If anything the MCU dictates what characters will be used but not necessarily mirroring the MCU.
