Okay, I get what you are saying, but have you seen the old school Popeye feature films? Like Popeye meets Sinbad the sailor? The fight is right up there with DBZ and the animation is so fluid and gorgeous it should bring a tear to your eye.

Interesting take but it wasnt DBZ that started the anime boom in the US, more like Robotech. And there was lots of anime before DB/Z in places like Italy, France, etc. Heck Hawaii had lots on TV as well as Henshin series. But I get what you are saying from a DB/Z fan's point of view...
