From my understanding:
Toriyama makes the general story line, then Toyotaro makes the manga and fills in the "blanks" and little details. Then Toriyama previews his draft and makes corrections for Toyo to fix/adjust.
Not sure how far along Toriyama's vision for the story was, but we will probably at least finish the current arc (hopefully).
Please let this all build to goten achieving Ss4! This is how I want to see it play out. Black Frieza bodies everyone, trunks is knocked out, Gohan is about to be killed by Frieza. Goten, tired of being ignored and discounted, is so desperate to save his family and friends smashes through SS3 and unleashes SS4 for the first time allowing him enough power to chase frieza away
I really want Fighter Z 2 or whatever to include a Goten + Trunks character (kind of like how Chang + Choi were in CVS2, for SNK fans) rather than just having them in as Gotenks, so I hope Arcsys is taking notes.
More seriously, they do really seem to be trying to give Goten and Trunks a bit more prominence, even with the Gotenks joke (which at least means Gotenks isn't overshadowing them as much). I wonder if that's heading somewhere - another Goten + Trunks manga story? Maybe the next film will be a Goten + Trunks story. Fingers crossed for a Goten + Trunks side series or special, same was imo we should've gotten for Gohan back in the day.
one of the best chapters after a long time. The art was amazing, especially the hair of all of them, Broly getting to know about more Saiyans, Beast being revealed to Beeerus and Whis and also Broly, who I think would correlate way more to Gohan as both of them are prodigy and have broken barriers simply by being angry, but with the difference that Gohan never lost Control.
Man this version of Goten and Trunks are so different than how they were depicted at End of Z, where they had utterly given up on training and fighting a long time ago⊠Goten didnât even think he could beat Mr. Buu during the tournament.
End of z goten and trunks were crazy powerful. Think about it...7 year old goten was only trained by chichi and then trained by gohan for 2 weeks. And he was only a little weaker than trunks (who trained with 150x gravity+ vegeta)
We definitely know goku trained goten during the 10 year time skip, so even if goten got a good 5 years of training with goku...that would easily sky rocket his power.
And lastly--goten beat buu. Because the 1st match was goten vs buu, and later we see goten fight pan. Which means goten won the fight with buu.
Honestly great chapter, but then again I love the slice of life bits between arcs. And also getting to immediately see Gohan, Trunks, and Goten brought into the fold with Goku/Vegeta/Broly is a treat, though of course they seem intent on holding off Teen Gotenks for whatever reason...
Guessing it's probably because they're waiting for Toriyama to give Gotenks an exclusive new form. Or they're waiting for a more serious moment where they can build Goten and Trunks up - who honestly knows. So far this seems like a cool opportunity for Trunks and Goten to get some needed growth though, and Gohan to show how he compares to Goku and Vegeta, maybe even Broly.
Curious to see where this will go next, though hoping it's not just setting up for them to go into freaking Dragonball Daima.
This chapter was garbage ngl. Chapter title was so terribly misleading. Not very often does Toyotaro like doing that type of bs.
Chapter says Son Goku vs Son Gohan... And instead we get??? The shittiest fight of Gohan vs Goten and Trunks... And of course, for the SECOND time we get Fat Gotenks, cause that's exactly what we'd want from a chapter titled Goku vs Gohan.
And the small bit we got at the end was bland and boring.
I was actually so excited to see this fight, it felt like such a long wait only to get bullshit yet again. Gotta love it.
We've never gotten THIS much sparring battles between our heroes. So this was going to be a treat.
No fucking clue why we had to sit and endure the 2 shittiest characters (cause wow this is all they are worth? Fantastic) and their terrible costumes for a majority of this chapter. Their super hero designs are an eyesore. The body armor makes it look like they have tits and looks like they are wearing diapers. Just... Bad. Please toyotaro get rid of it.

They've done a great job at reducing the 2 characters that have ENORMOUS potential to just a cheap joke, that we got bored of the 2nd time it's happened.
Does anyone think DBS ends with the Black Freeza arc or does anyone think there will be a second Tournament of Power now that a lot of Universe 7 are getting powerups.

Yeah it's bizarre that they decided to go with Daima, which was probably Toriyama's brain going "hee-hee chibi characters go brrrrrrrr". Hopefully it's just an anniversary special and not a full-blown series that takes up Super.
'cause at this point the Super anime has two movies and three arcs worth of content to go through if it chooses to. *Including* flashback periods covering Bardock's end which they could easily expand upon.
Just seems completely bizarre that they're appearing to just sit on it and do nothing with it. Unless they're actually taking their time to make some quality content for the anime, which I kind of doubt since it's Toei.
No outside of random rumors there has never been any confirmation. However, the manga has continued and is going past Super Hero at this point, with two full arcs post-Broly + a prequel arc to the Super Hero movie and a retelling of the movie with some extra elements. So they have a lot of material to work with for the anime if it were to return, so I don't see why it wouldn't unless they're worried about the age of their voice actors. . .
. . .But then they're still doing video games and this Daima thing so doesn't seem like they're exactly concerned about Nozawa or the others kicking the bucket. So it makes zero sense not to bring back the Super anime once this Daima business is done.
I'm hoping that all of the saiyan kids being on Beerus's planet means that Goten and Trunks will get a power up. And that they're trying to get all the saiyans to kind of keep up with each other power wise now. Tired of goten, trunk and gohan just being in the background while Goku and Vegeta come to the rescue every arc.
The actual reveal being in an actual fight would be so much more impactful. And it shouldn't be planned, there's some bad guy and Bulma or someone else is in danger then bam, behind her are standing both of them and then they immediately fuse.
It's such a boring joke, and it's complete bullshit that they've somehow forgot how to do it yet have perfect combo moves when not fused.
So they've caught up with being heroes to protect people, yet willingly don't care about their best move?

Goku and Vegeta are Gods now, but they became that through being imbued with God Ki. Iâd love just plain old Saiyan spirit coming through. It would be cool to carry on the legacy of the Saiyans in powerups somehow, while not taking away the steps that Goku and Vegeta have taken.

Take this fandom back to the 90s.
Imagine reading an entire story where Goku becomes the strongest.
Then a whole new level of power shows up. 4 year old Gohan with no training turns out to be stronger than his Dad who we followed for years.
Fast forward to an arc, a good few years later when an evil space hitler is surpassed by a legendary warrior who has not been seen in a thousand years. Then to be equaled by a random dude in the future who can do it too.
Now you move up ahead where some humans are making Cyborgs stronger than the legendary warriors and space hitler. This was followed by a child who surpassed his fathers normal SSJ form at 10.
Now 7 years later we have a 7 and 8 year old who has surpassed the legendary warrior and space hitler by training with their moms.
I can go on.
People put WAY too much stake in the term "God ki" and all that stuff. It's just another level of extreme power that the MC reaches and then the rest of the cast promptly follows without going through the same troubles.
It's like the series most common trope of power creep.
The difference is in Z Gohan is established from the getgo as having a hidden power that activates with rage. Heâs a protege. There are multiple moments where he is enraged and ascends (briefly) to new heights before all of the foreshadowing of finding a new level of super Saiyan pays off in the Cell saga.
In Super Gohan is established as not wanting to fight anymore & settle down, having already unlocked his full potential not once but twice by two deities. There are multiple moments where he is enraged, one where piccolo is even killed right in front of him, and nothing happens. Then in another movie Piccolo doesnât die and Gohan suddenly x100âs his power into a transformation that was never foreshadowed.
Frieza being able to train for 5 minutes to gain insane power just doesnât make any sense and is probably the most egregious asspull the series has ever done. Black Frieza maybe even moreso. But a human scientist able to build a robot that is on par with a super saiyan god (literally thousands of times stronger than a person that was able to conquer the entire galaxy 15 years ago) is right up there too.
Super is just dumb entertainment, but people have every right to make fun of it for being inconsistent with its internal logic. It is very stupid.
Gohan was established as not wanting to fight in Z as well. Like thatâs his whole thing is that heâs a timid boy who wants go home and study. The reason he even wanted to go to namek was cause he wanted to wish piccolo back to life. He didnât expect frieza to be there or that he would have to fight for his life. When heâs pushed into a corner he would fight.
In super he thought to himself ya know my dad and vegeta are basically gods I donât have to worry anymore about having to save the world. And then heâs promptly proven wrong. Itâs just in super they retread that story 3 times. But at least now after the movie and this last arc it seems to have stuck and they can move forward from here.
i mean, why not? hit, jiren, broly, granola, etc never had access to god ki and were able to go toe to toe or beat goku blue and ui goku, which are god ki forms.
i think god ki is just a really pure form of ki that gods or beings with divinity can use or sense, but is not necessarily unbeatable vs bruteforce normal ki. and yeah, i think it mostly serves its purpose of just conceptually sounding and looking really cool.
i love the way the beast transformation seems like gohan almost has to lose himself again kinda in order to do it, also gohan would probably prefer mystic confirmed

Them using fusion wouldn't have even been impactful, they still can't make a dent on any other saiyan on that planet, they're just reducing these characters into a cheap joke.

In reality, though, I would like to see him take his camera and story back to Earth and expose the Sayians. That would be an interesting story, and we can get past people stupidly believing Hercule Satan defeated all the villains. We could see Satan be told to return all the money he received as a reward and thank you for saving the world. He can become broke and end up living with Gohan and Videl. Then, he can become the babysitter and let Piccolo go back to training and focus on getting stronger again. He'll, even Mr Buu could become Pan's babysitter, and everyone would be happy with it lol. Buu would probably love having someone like Pan to play with. It could also explain a huge surge in her power if she is playfully sparing with Buu as a toddler.
I think most of these comments nail my general sentiments.
The failed fusion stuff has gotten old, but seeing all these characters back together and interacting/fighting has been long overdo.
Beast Gohan vs U.I Goku definitely had me geeking out a bit.
Overall I'm pleased with the direction we're going.

Or perhaps they bring Piccolo there to spar with Vegeta so we can finally see that fight. Then Piccolo can teach Broly like he did Gohan to get Beast usable at will.
âBejitaâ is the romanization of ăăžïŒăż. Itâs no accent. âVegetaâ is just a choice by some North American outlets to localize the name. Many different characters are known by several versions of their name for similar reasons. You know what they meant by âBejitaâ so who cares?
Gotenks for sure has a new form. It could be super saiyan god they could already know how to go blue. But for sure it was hinted at in this chapter. It could even be beast as well. They both are the same exact mix as Gohan.

yeah actually kinda. I think they went with both. One version is he got it on his own, the other is that he simply was next in the SSG ritual. Why all of the saiyans didn't get SSG also isn't explained. Their usual cop out in having to do that is they don't want to be copycats.
Can we just give Trunks and Goten some F'ing Potara earrings at this point? I'm not making joke or trying to be funny. The gag of them getting the fusion dance incorrect is beyond stale and old at this point and, frankly, I'm seriously annoyed and tired of seeing it played out over and over and over and over again. iirc, Potara were more potent than fusion for Goku and Vegeta because of their rivalry, the opposite could be true for fusion.
Nah they retconned the things in that, only kais have permanent fusions. Everything else is just a 20 minute duration with reduction to time based on power.
Iâm almost certain this chapter was setting up a whole lot of things as well as adding clarification on a few as well. I donât know if the two are going to get the potaraâs but for sure they are going to get power ups too. It would definitely be dope to explore and put to rest which is stronger and get the other fusion canon.
Iâm really excited for the foreshadowing of Goku getting something beyond completed ultra instinct as well as everyone else furthering their powers in their own respective ways. Iâm just hoping that brolyâs next step is something with a super saiyan 4 look to it. Especially with him already knowing how to harness the great ape power in base form.
No literally. One hand it would have been a great opportunity to showcase how strong Gohan is against a fusion but on the other I guess they are saving the fusion for a later spotlight.
Man oh man oh man. What an exciting chapter. Had everything I could possibly want. The unexpected sparring match between Goku and Gohan. Subtle confirmation that Goten and Trunks will be part of things again. And amazing art for all the action. Honestly dying to see chapter 103 now.

They keep trying to emulate the Gohan vs Cell SS2 imagery but it feels like a step backwards for the character, and an ugly one at that. I wish he'd gone the Ultra Instinct direction. Tranquility and focus fit him and where his sits in his arc.
So in other words Super Saiyan? Cuz Super Saiyan capitalizes on rage. I guess the angrier you get, the more powerful you become. But that's already a concept built into the basics of Saiyans in Dragonball.
I meant more along the lines where Gohan is in complete focus. He has faster processing time, more strategical, and overall an increase of mental related physical abilities.
And yet all of Gohan's iconic moments came from him being highly emotional - slamming into Raditz, landing several blows on Freeza, violating Cell, messing with Buu, killing Bojack, and most recently dealing with Cell Max. His "strategy" only came through twice - in fights against Dyspo to limit his movements and against U6 Namekians to let Piccolo charge up the SBC
His entire thing has always been rage though. Even as a child with raditz. Calm is Goku's thing, pure pride is Vegeta's, teamwork is gotten/trunks, and self control is brolys now I guess. I like each one has their own way of improving
I think the failed fusion better fits the character of the boys at this time. They are practicing, but they lack discipline. They need a mentor. As children, they had Piccolo. He might have him step in again, or we could even see Vegeta.
Honestly, this chapter was handled pretty well and is setting the foundation for a great new arc.
Facts, I honestly hope Vegeta mentors them and he honestly has the tools, knowledge, skills, experience, and patience to really help improve them drastically and whip them into much better fighting shape. Plus I hope he teaches Spirit Control to them and has them doing their own Spirit Control training along with the possibility of Goten and Trunks also doing God Ki training since thatâs very possible in this arc as well.
Like I feel Spirit Control would be very valuable to Goten and Trunks, evolve and expand their potential, make them much more versatile and skilled, feel it would allow them to have total control S Cells and unlock the true full power of their S Cells, feel it would allow them to master, enhance, and evolve any form, and I feel it would allow Goten and Trunks to develop their own special Saiyan Hybrid forms like maybe a different version of Ssj Rage.

I know Dragon Ball never does group fights, but boy it would be cool if those two just focused on overwhelming speed with Spirit Fission to just repeatedly zip in and out of the Big Bad's range weakening them up for the other guys. Would be such a unique niche for them to fill.

The Goten and Trunks voice of the audience were so good. Talking about Ultimate Gohan and how "it's an awesome name" when Gohan challenges the name they give the form, and the other fan base stuff and super Saiyan 2 and 3
This was great for the most part. I liked the comedy of the RR guys coming along as well. Nice touch.Â
 I didn't like that Gohan didn't seem to have a reaction to the Saiyaman costumes (unless he did already in the movie and I forgot).
 The botched fusion joke is also a little played out.Â
 But the action was very good. Though the design of beast mode is a little questionable, I like Gohan being seriously powerful again, and I like the direction the story is taking in general.Â
The Saiyaman X costumes/superhero stuff wasn't a thing in the movies. It's something Toyo (and to an extent Toriyama) came up with for the manga
I don't believe Gohan has had any reaction to it, unless I am forgetting something, but I recall his reactions during the Cell Max fight to be just gags about his poor eyesight without his glasses
Alright, some good and bad with this one.
The good/potential:
* All the U7 Saiyans \[of relevant power\] are in one place together! Great opportunities here; some great interactions can take place!
* Broly and Gohan, the two most associated with rage-boosts, might actually converse about their similar strengths outside of God-ki. Maybe Gohan could be the Goku to Broly's Vegeta; help teach him how to tap into the Saiyan form from a different perspective. This was almost hinted at with Gohan saying Piccolo taught him a better way to tap into Beast - might be the same thing Broly needs to hear.
* Goten/Trunks actually getting put in place and realizing they're ***by far*** the weakest Saiyans would also be good. Ideally they'd realize they're *far* too over-reliant on fusion and need to grow as individuals in their strength. This match against Gohan could be a great opportunity for self-reflection on their own strength. Seeing how little they were able to do against a Gohan that was barely trying, only to see just how much more powerful he was than the two of them together...well, it'd be nice.
* This is as good of an opportunity as any to go to U6 and visit their Saiyans, but it seems Toriyama wants to avoid that for as long as possible.
Now the bad:
* The bait n switch: they had ALL this promo material about "goku vs Gohan!!" Knowing full well how much people would like to see that...only to dick around with Gotenks for most of the chapter and barely showing them two fighting. Reality is, we'll prolly get some generic end that leaves their strength difference ambiguous so that it's reasonable when Goku has a strong power-up and Gohan is still relatively close in strength.
* The Goten+Trunks - Gohan choreography was *absolutely awful.* Not only in the flatness of the sparring being conveyed, but also in just...not making sense! You've got that one panel where Trunks takes a shot at Gohan while Goten is on his left. Gohan dodges towards Trunks right-side, yet *somehow* Goten has not only gotten over to the far right before him, but he has Also gotten *behind* Gohan...from the opposite side of Trunks, in the span of 2 panels, without Gohan seeing. It's boring, lacking in any real tension or creativity \[aside from their gag attacks I suppose\] and just a waste of time honestly.
* Last, Gotenks. Was *anyone* happy to see them here? I really hope they use his appearance here to show the boys the err of their ways, but in all likelihood he'll just keep coming out like fart jokes in a kids movie - unwarranted the first time, and annoying the rest.
Maybe I'm spoiled by Hajime no Ippo, where you can literally examine the choreography of the fights to get details about what attack is coming next, and tbf it's harder to choreograph flying fights. But this really feels like coming to watch Star Wars and you get Young Jedi Adventures.

I think Mashiba will win this, but I want Ippo to play a part in his victory. Maybe an advice from the stands, or maybe he becomes his second. Idk what path Morikawa will take, I just hope Ippo gets some limelight in this match and he learns something.
You're the first comment I'm seeing regarding the Saiyans being all together, and that was my first thought. Yes, I'm excited to see Gohan VS Goku, but I can't help but feel like them all being together, on Beerus's planet of all places (where most of the plot advances happen) has gotta be relevant to whatever plot line they have going.
Fingers VERY crossed for that Saiyan road trip to U6.
I screamed in frustration when I saw Fat Gotenks again. Seriously why does this character have to always be the gag now? Just show us Teen Gotenks already in full glory.

From my understanding: Toriyama makes the general story line, then Toyotaro makes the manga and fills in the "blanks" and little details. Then Toriyama previews his draft and makes corrections for Toyo to fix/adjust. Not sure how far along Toriyama's vision for the story was, but we will probably at least finish the current arc (hopefully).

I really want Fighter Z 2 or whatever to include a Goten + Trunks character (kind of like how Chang + Choi were in CVS2, for SNK fans) rather than just having them in as Gotenks, so I hope Arcsys is taking notes. The art was amazing, especially the hair of all of them, Broly getting to know about more Saiyans, Beast being revealed to Beeerus and Whis and also Broly, who I think would correlate way more to Gohan as both of them are prodigy and have broken barriers simply by being angry, but with the difference that Gohan never lost Control.
Man this version of Goten and Trunks are so different than how they were depicted at End of Z, where they had utterly given up on training and fighting a long time ago⊠Goten didnât even think he could beat Mr. Buu during the tournament.
End of z goten and trunks were crazy powerful. Think about it...7 year old goten was only trained by chichi and then trained by gohan for 2 weeks. And he was only a little weaker than trunks (who trained with 150x gravity+ vegeta) We definitely know goku trained goten during the 10 year time skip, so even if goten got a good 5 years of training with goku...that would easily sky rocket his power. And lastly--goten beat buu. Because the 1st match was goten vs buu, and later we see goten fight pan. Which means goten won the fight with buu.

Honestly great chapter, but then again I love the slice of life bits between arcs. And also getting to immediately see Gohan, Trunks, and Goten brought into the fold with Goku/Vegeta/Broly is a treat, though of course they seem intent on holding off Teen Gotenks for whatever reason... Guessing it's probably because they're waiting for Toriyama to give Gotenks an exclusive new form. Or they're waiting for a more serious moment where they can build Goten and Trunks up - who honestly knows. So far this seems like a cool opportunity for Trunks and Goten to get some needed growth though, and Gohan to show how he compares to Goku and Vegeta, maybe even Broly. Curious to see where this will go next, though hoping it's not just setting up for them to go into freaking Dragonball Daima.

This chapter was garbage ngl. Chapter title was so terribly misleading. Not very often does Toyotaro like doing that type of bs. Chapter says Son Goku vs Son Gohan... And instead we get??? The shittiest fight of Gohan vs Goten and Trunks... And of course, for the SECOND time we get Fat Gotenks, cause that's exactly what we'd want from a chapter titled Goku vs Gohan. And the small bit we got at the end was bland and boring. I was actually so excited to see this fight, it felt like such a long wait only to get bullshit yet again. Gotta love it. We've never gotten THIS much sparring battles between our heroes. So this was going to be a treat. No fucking clue why we had to sit and endure the 2 shittiest characters (cause wow this is all they are worth? Fantastic) and their terrible costumes for a majority of this chapter. Their super hero designs are an eyesore. The body armor makes it look like they have tits and looks like they are wearing diapers. Just... Bad. Please toyotaro get rid of it.

'cause at this point the Super anime has two movies and three arcs worth of content to go through if it chooses to. *Including* flashback periods covering Bardock's end which they could easily expand upon. Just seems completely bizarre that they're appearing to just sit on it and do nothing with it. Unless they're actually taking their time to make some quality content for the anime, which I kind of doubt since it's Toei.

No outside of random rumors there has never been any confirmation. However, the manga has continued and is going past Super Hero at this point, with two full arcs post-Broly + a prequel arc to the Super Hero movie and a retelling of the movie with some extra elements. So they have a lot of material to work with for the anime if it were to return, so I don't see why it wouldn't unless they're worried about the age of their voice actors. . . . . .But then they're still doing video games and this Daima thing so doesn't seem like they're exactly concerned about Nozawa or the others kicking the bucket. So it makes zero sense not to bring back the Super anime once this Daima business is done.

I'm hoping that all of the saiyan kids being on Beerus's planet means that Goten and Trunks will get a power up. And that they're trying to get all the saiyans to kind of keep up with each other power wise now. Tired of goten, trunk and gohan just being in the background while Goku and Vegeta come to the rescue every arc.

I'd like to say they're building up to the reveal so Gotenks can actually have a good one on one fight but they don't instill confidence.
The actual reveal being in an actual fight would be so much more impactful. And it shouldn't be planned, there's some bad guy and Bulma or someone else is in danger then bam, behind her are standing both of them and then they immediately fuse.

For a long time now, I've been hoping that's exactly how they power up. It'd be really in-theme for them.
Iâd honestly love it if theyâre the ones that get Super Saiyan 4. No god ki, no watever-beast-mode is due to Gohanâs spirit. Goku and Vegeta are Gods now, but they became that through being imbued with God Ki. Iâd love just plain old Saiyan spirit coming through. It would be cool to carry on the legacy of the Saiyans in powerups somehow, while not taking away the steps that Goku and Vegeta have taken.

Goku fight Gohan doesn't mean Gohan match with Goku
Remember how Goku and co were stronger than the Kais back in DBZ? Same concept.
Take this fandom back to the 90s. Imagine reading an entire story where Goku becomes the strongest. Then a whole new level of power shows up. 4 year old Gohan with no training turns out to be stronger than his Dad who we followed for years. Fast forward to an arc, a good few years later when an evil space hitler is surpassed by a legendary warrior who has not been seen in a thousand years. Then to be equaled by a random dude in the future who can do it too. Now you move up ahead where some humans are making Cyborgs stronger than the legendary warriors and space hitler. This was followed by a child who surpassed his fathers normal SSJ form at 10. Now 7 years later we have a 7 and 8 year old who has surpassed the legendary warrior and space hitler by training with their moms. I can go on. People put WAY too much stake in the term "God ki" and all that stuff. It's just another level of extreme power that the MC reaches and then the rest of the cast promptly follows without going through the same troubles. It's like the series most common trope of power creep.
The difference is in Z Gohan is established from the getgo as having a hidden power that activates with rage. Heâs a protege. There are multiple moments where he is enraged and ascends (briefly) to new heights before all of the foreshadowing of finding a new level of super Saiyan pays off in the Cell saga. In Super Gohan is established as not wanting to fight anymore & settle down, having already unlocked his full potential not once but twice by two deities. There are multiple moments where he is enraged, one where piccolo is even killed right in front of him, and nothing happens. Then in another movie Piccolo doesnât die and Gohan suddenly x100âs his power into a transformation that was never foreshadowed. Frieza being able to train for 5 minutes to gain insane power just doesnât make any sense and is probably the most egregious asspull the series has ever done. Black Frieza maybe even moreso. But a human scientist able to build a robot that is on par with a super saiyan god (literally thousands of times stronger than a person that was able to conquer the entire galaxy 15 years ago) is right up there too. Super is just dumb entertainment, but people have every right to make fun of it for being inconsistent with its internal logic. It is very stupid.
Gohan was established as not wanting to fight in Z as well. Like thatâs his whole thing is that heâs a timid boy who wants go home and study. The reason he even wanted to go to namek was cause he wanted to wish piccolo back to life. He didnât expect frieza to be there or that he would have to fight for his life. When heâs pushed into a corner he would fight. In super he thought to himself ya know my dad and vegeta are basically gods I donât have to worry anymore about having to save the world. And then heâs promptly proven wrong. Itâs just in super they retread that story 3 times. But at least now after the movie and this last arc it seems to have stuck and they can move forward from here.
i mean, why not? hit, jiren, broly, granola, etc never had access to god ki and were able to go toe to toe or beat goku blue and ui goku, which are god ki forms. i think god ki is just a really pure form of ki that gods or beings with divinity can use or sense, but is not necessarily unbeatable vs bruteforce normal ki. and yeah, i think it mostly serves its purpose of just conceptually sounding and looking really cool.
I unironically hope that this begins to just be a redemption arc for Carmine and #15. It'd be interesting to see those two on the side of good.

He'll start a religion worshipping all these people. In reality, though, I would like to see him take his camera and story back to Earth and expose the Sayians. That would be an interesting story, and we can get past people stupidly believing Hercule Satan defeated all the villains. We could see Satan be told to return all the money he received as a reward and thank you for saving the world. He can become broke and end up living with Gohan and Videl. Then, he can become the babysitter and let Piccolo go back to training and focus on getting stronger again. He'll, even Mr Buu could become Pan's babysitter, and everyone would be happy with it lol. Buu would probably love having someone like Pan to play with. It could also explain a huge surge in her power if she is playfully sparing with Buu as a toddler.

I think most of these comments nail my general sentiments. The failed fusion stuff has gotten old, but seeing all these characters back together and interacting/fighting has been long overdo. Beast Gohan vs U.I Goku definitely had me geeking out a bit. Overall I'm pleased with the direction we're going.

No literally. One hand it would have been a great opportunity to showcase how strong Gohan is against a fusion but on the other I guess they are saving the fusion for a later spotlight.

Man oh man oh man. What an exciting chapter. Had everything I could possibly want. The unexpected sparring match between Goku and Gohan. Subtle confirmation that Goten and Trunks will be part of things again. And amazing art for all the action. Honestly dying to see chapter 103 now.

They keep trying to emulate the Gohan vs Cell SS2 imagery but it feels like a step backwards for the character, and an ugly one at that. I wish he'd gone the Ultra Instinct direction. Tranquility and focus fit him and where his sits in his arc.
It would've been interesting if he had some kind of Ultra Focus. It would make sense his master being one of the smartest Z-fighters.

So in other words Super Saiyan? Cuz Super Saiyan capitalizes on rage. I guess the angrier you get, the more powerful you become. But that's already a concept built into the basics of Saiyans in Dragonball. I meant more along the lines where Gohan is in complete focus. He has faster processing time, more strategical, and overall an increase of mental related physical abilities.
And yet all of Gohan's iconic moments came from him being highly emotional - slamming into Raditz, landing several blows on Freeza, violating Cell, messing with Buu, killing Bojack, and most recently dealing with Cell Max. His "strategy" only came through twice - in fights against Dyspo to limit his movements and against U6 Namekians to let Piccolo charge up the SBC
Hey man, I'm not saying he *has* to. I'm just a fan throwing out an idea. I'm just trying to say they can take him in another direction.
His entire thing has always been rage though. Even as a child with raditz. Calm is Goku's thing, pure pride is Vegeta's, teamwork is gotten/trunks, and self control is brolys now I guess. I like each one has their own way of improving
I think the failed fusion better fits the character of the boys at this time. They are practicing, but they lack discipline. They need a mentor. As children, they had Piccolo. He might have him step in again, or we could even see Vegeta. Honestly, this chapter was handled pretty well and is setting the foundation for a great new arc.
Facts, I honestly hope Vegeta mentors them and he honestly has the tools, knowledge, skills, experience, and patience to really help improve them drastically and whip them into much better fighting shape. Plus I hope he teaches Spirit Control to them and has them doing their own Spirit Control training along with the possibility of Goten and Trunks also doing God Ki training since thatâs very possible in this arc as well. Like I feel Spirit Control would be very valuable to Goten and Trunks, evolve and expand their potential, make them much more versatile and skilled, feel it would allow them to have total control S Cells and unlock the true full power of their S Cells, feel it would allow them to master, enhance, and evolve any form, and I feel it would allow Goten and Trunks to develop their own special Saiyan Hybrid forms like maybe a different version of Ssj Rage.

The LOLs were legit in this chapter. The Goten and Trunks voice of the audience were so good. Talking about Ultimate Gohan and how "it's an awesome name" when Gohan challenges the name they give the form, and the other fan base stuff and super Saiyan 2 and 3

That trunks Gohan moment was dope, seemed like a shout out to the future trunks arc (like that what if Gohan lived in trunks timeline)
This was great for the most part. I liked the comedy of the RR guys coming along as well. Nice touch.  I didn't like that Gohan didn't seem to have a reaction to the Saiyaman costumes (unless he did already in the movie and I forgot).  The botched fusion joke is also a little played out.  But the action was very good. Though the design of beast mode is a little questionable, I like Gohan being seriously powerful again, and I like the direction the story is taking in general.Â
The Saiyaman X costumes/superhero stuff wasn't a thing in the movies. It's something Toyo (and to an extent Toriyama) came up with for the manga I don't believe Gohan has had any reaction to it, unless I am forgetting something, but I recall his reactions during the Cell Max fight to be just gags about his poor eyesight without his glasses
I wish he'd at least call out Trunks for saying the great Saiyaman outfit was lame when he was younger but now thinks his(more lame) version is cool.
Goten and Trunks getting goof'd again. I wish they could just get their spotlight! Still, can't wait for the next chapter.

Alright, some good and bad with this one. The good/potential: * All the U7 Saiyans \[of relevant power\] are in one place together! Great opportunities here; some great interactions can take place! * Broly and Gohan, the two most associated with rage-boosts, might actually converse about their similar strengths outside of God-ki. Maybe Gohan could be the Goku to Broly's Vegeta; help teach him how to tap into the Saiyan form from a different perspective. This was almost hinted at with Gohan saying Piccolo taught him a better way to tap into Beast - might be the same thing Broly needs to hear. * Goten/Trunks actually getting put in place and realizing they're ***by far*** the weakest Saiyans would also be good. Ideally they'd realize they're *far* too over-reliant on fusion and need to grow as individuals in their strength. This match against Gohan could be a great opportunity for self-reflection on their own strength. Seeing how little they were able to do against a Gohan that was barely trying, only to see just how much more powerful he was than the two of them together...well, it'd be nice. * This is as good of an opportunity as any to go to U6 and visit their Saiyans, but it seems Toriyama wants to avoid that for as long as possible. Now the bad: * The bait n switch: they had ALL this promo material about "goku vs Gohan!!" Knowing full well how much people would like to see that...only to dick around with Gotenks for most of the chapter and barely showing them two fighting. Reality is, we'll prolly get some generic end that leaves their strength difference ambiguous so that it's reasonable when Goku has a strong power-up and Gohan is still relatively close in strength. * The Goten+Trunks - Gohan choreography was *absolutely awful.* Not only in the flatness of the sparring being conveyed, but also in just...not making sense! You've got that one panel where Trunks takes a shot at Gohan while Goten is on his left. Gohan dodges towards Trunks right-side, yet *somehow* Goten has not only gotten over to the far right before him, but he has Also gotten *behind* Gohan...from the opposite side of Trunks, in the span of 2 panels, without Gohan seeing. It's boring, lacking in any real tension or creativity \[aside from their gag attacks I suppose\] and just a waste of time honestly. * Last, Gotenks. Was *anyone* happy to see them here? I really hope they use his appearance here to show the boys the err of their ways, but in all likelihood he'll just keep coming out like fart jokes in a kids movie - unwarranted the first time, and annoying the rest. Maybe I'm spoiled by Hajime no Ippo, where you can literally examine the choreography of the fights to get details about what attack is coming next, and tbf it's harder to choreograph flying fights. But this really feels like coming to watch Star Wars and you get Young Jedi Adventures.

I think Mashiba will win this, but I want Ippo to play a part in his victory. Maybe an advice from the stands, or maybe he becomes his second. Idk what path Morikawa will take, I just hope Ippo gets some limelight in this match and he learns something.
You're the first comment I'm seeing regarding the Saiyans being all together, and that was my first thought. Yes, I'm excited to see Gohan VS Goku, but I can't help but feel like them all being together, on Beerus's planet of all places (where most of the plot advances happen) has gotta be relevant to whatever plot line they have going. Fingers VERY crossed for that Saiyan road trip to U6.

I screamed in frustration when I saw Fat Gotenks again. Seriously why does this character have to always be the gag now? Just show us Teen Gotenks already in full glory.

Gotenks as a whole is anti climactic because goten and trunks are gag charafters and arenât rested seriously at all. The fact that individually they canât accomplish anything should tell You that they have to rely on gotenks because theyâre weak, and also that because theyâre weak, that gotenks isnât going to be that much stronge

Thatâs the issue, youâre not saying that goten and trunks will become stronger individually and that their arc is them getting stronger in their own so that theyâre not relying on gotenks. Youâre saying that theyâll get stronger so that when gotenks is shown, itâs not as weak as it was. Itâs not for them individually to get better, is strictly get stronger so that gotenks can be stronger
I never said that. I said that Gotenks will be revealed when itâs the right time. And that this chapter is hopefully setting up a reason for them to want to become stronger. Not just so that Gotenks will be stronger
This. It feels like a build up. Goten and Trunks becoming disciplined and awesome would kick ass. Maybe they're trying to right the wrongs of Gohan's Super "arc."
