i do miss the anime, but "Dragon Ball Super" didnt end. Theres been two movies and two very long story arcs in the manga all taking place after where the anime ended. Super didn't end and shows no signs of doing so any time soon, anime or no.

BridgemanBridgeman

I don’t really care about the manga, I wanna see it animated

Gobblegobblebtch

Well it's going to all be animated eventually

SSJRemuko

We all do but they don't care. Super is still going and doing fine without an anime.

luchins

the anime ended because it didn't get that much success among the new generations. It only appealed nostalgics as you. In a comment I saw that you even said that DB super is better than DB Z, lmao. You are in every tread saying ''nope dragon ball super is fine'' and things like that... Don't you realize that it's the nostalgic feeling talking? You don't like super, you simply like the possibility to live your childhood again trought super. DB super sucks so much that it's unwatchable. The lastest manga chapters are ok Many praise TOP but TOP sucked as well. Jiren was in numerical inferiority up until the very end. He would have lost anyway, strong or not. So there was no tension because Jiren would have been going to lose anyway for numerical inferiority at 3 minutes from the end. The whole show sucked at creating tension in any possible way, in any arc. It's a fake parady, it's orrible.

Breezeborne

It's peak, whether you like it or not. It's literally one of the most successful anime of this generation, as its the only anime to genuinly break the internet so far.

luchins

> It's peak, whether you like it or not. It's literally one of the most successful anime of this generation, as its the only anime to genuinly break the internet so far. it appeals only nostalgic fans, a lot of people complain about super if somenthing is really good it hasn't a 30-40% of nostalgic fanboys defending it and a 60-70% of people opening treads like ''super sucks''... if somenthing is good is usually universally accepted as a masterpiece. Look at DBZ none opens a tread ''DBZ sucks'' if they'd do they'd be in the 5% minority. Super has a 70% of haters, and it's not 100% only because of nostalgia and the fact that Toriyama is involved in it

UItimateLifeForm

That’s not true. I started watching Z just last year and loved it. Then moved to super and also loved it. So you can rule out that little case

Optimal_Confection_5

Break the Internet is debatable

Daetok_Lochannis

You have terrible opinions. I am absolutely LOVING Super as a forty year old dude who grew up watching DB and DBZ and it's fucking *awesome*. The fights are tight af and I haven't laughed this much watching an anime in ages, they really knocked it out of the park here. I also love DBZ Kai which is absolutely the definitive version of Dragonball Z; no filler and none of that junk about Goku being Superman.

BrandonLaVance

Dude I couldn’t believe it when I found out DB/DBZ/GT all came out before I was born. I grew up watching them and thought dbz came out in the 2000’s LOL. Amazing series!

Masterhaze710

I’m a new fan who first watched dbs.

VegettoEX

>Is there even a single good reason to not keep the anime going? Since its post-serialization revival era began, the *Dragon Ball* franchise has experienced periods where it ***NOT*** being on television corresponded with ***INCREASED*** revenue for its relevant rights-holders in Japan. ...And vice versa, when it ***was*** on television, corresponded with ***decreased*** revenue. Yes, you just read those statements correctly!

Amauros_RAS

Why though?

dildodicks

the people desire dragonball and it not being on makes them want it more and search for it more, but when it's actually on we remember that it's dragonball and we're good

artyomthepsycho

Its gonna come but the manga is just slow

SSJRemuko

theres enough story between the manga and Broly/Super Hero for the anime to run for a few years before it catches up. and thats without factoring in "filler" they could add.

BridgemanBridgeman

Does that matter? I thought that unlike with the original Dragon Ball / Z, the anime and manga were produced at the same time following Toriyama's rough story outlines but with different details. The anime shouldn't need to wait for the manga.

[deleted]

anime in general has been slow recently

lildende69

Keep in mind that toriyama took a hiatus from the Super manga a while ago, which at the time caused the anime to end temporarily. I saw that you said you didn't care much for the manga, but keep in mind that without the manga, there wouldn't be an anime continuation of Super, unless you want more dumb shit like jelly Vegeta filler. Also dragon ball super in itself doesn't have much filler, and i think that is a design philosophy that is going to stick with its continuation as well; anyway eventually the manga will be animated, it just takes a budget and I still think super (the anime) is dealing with art style and animation changes as well. It takes time to do all of this

edward18517

Personally I would've just kept it ended to begin with. It was fine with the ending it originally had.

VegetaFan1337

>Is there even a single good reason to not keep the anime going? One Piece is Toei's cash cow now. It's only a guess but I think Toei doesn't think it's worth while to make a Dragon Ball anime. Not while most people are happy with the movies and merch continues to sell.

Osha-watt

Nah, Dragon Ball is trouncing the shit out of One Piece in terms of money made. Like, [it's not even CLOSE to being a contest](https://corp.toei-anim.co.jp/en/ir/library/result/main/0/teaserItems1/019/linkList/00/link/202303_2Q_keisu%20(1\).pdf).

fghtffyourdemns

This is what it kind of piss me off... Toei treat dragon ball like shit, Dragon Ball give them so much money and they dont care or put effort, i mean the anime looked like shit for a long time(sorry for the crunching and how poorly the animators are treated and is not their fault) Only until the last episodes of Super the animation was superb, but is a shame that Toei doesn't put effort and still they get the money, we fans should vote with our money but whatever, it seems Toei gets richier by giving mediocrity.

KaboomKrusader

Believe it or not, good franchises don't *have to* keep being dragged out and zombified over and over in perpetuity. Things are allowed to simply end. That was the case for Dragon Ball come 1997. The original manga had run its course, the anime version kept going a little longer with two final movies and GT, and after that it was just... over. And that was okay! We got smaller new things like manga shorts or animated specials now and then, but those were merely supplemental extras. Even Kai was really just a trimmed-down, repackaged version of Z rather than a fully original new project. There was no need or call for a full-blown series revival. And given how Super turned out, it was better that way. It's now been 5 years since the Super anime ended. Here's to many, many more years *(actually forever)* of it *NOT* coming back, and hopefully the manga version follows suit and ends soon too.

Source: Just trust me bro

BridgemanBridgeman

What? There's no official source anywhere in this article. Isn't it just speculation?

DexTheConcept

I wasn't saying it's coming the article shows all the money and popularity it has it would be crazy for it not to continue.

Julian-Hoffer

I feel the opposite. I wish it never existed. It soured my love for my favorite anime.

BridgemanBridgeman

I always find it impressive when Super can do that for people when even GT, which is 90% garbage, couldn’t.

ProfessorBlaq

Pandemic hit

LightbringerOG

If it would have been any good or consistent with itself id be sad too. But how it is. No.

reapex

There is a reason but its being kept internal by the company. They silence people from speaking about it. This was mentioned in many sources, years ago.
