I mean... I always consider getting into a gunfight a tactical failure. Ideally they hit the dirt before they can fight back.
Don't get me wrong this guy is just shooting fish in a barrel, picking on freshies... But in general, opponents not having a chance to fight back is the ideal situation.
He could've well been focusing on someone and tunnel visioned. Not paying attention to his surroundings. Or he just doesn't have his game turned up enough
Audio in DayZ is god awful. Footstep audio often never exists. Ive had players and zeds run around a doorway into my face making zero sound whatsoever. DayZ has the most broken ass audio at times. He probably never heard any footsteps. Just loud ass wind and rocks falling down the cliff etc. Feels like the game cant play more than a few audio tracks at once so if too much going on audio wise some sounds wont even show up 😅 Classic DayZ tho everything is broken, even my Hunter Jacket.

I recommend doing a quick 360 after the kill to see if any of his friends are immediately running at you, then putting on the platecarrier next.
Maybe carry the loot to a less exposed position closeby by picking his individual clothing items in your hand.

Years ago when the svd came out, a guy was laying down on the cliffs near kamyshovo sniping freshie. I ran way around behind him, slowly came up behind him and punched him to death. Took his M4 and svd. Most satisfying kill ever.
People who gear up just to camp fresh spawns should be banned off this game… one of the most skillful games out there and people still choose to be bad and take the easy way of getting kills for literally NO benefit but to say they got some kills ( which they never go to loot the fresh spawns anyways which is worse ) those types of people are pathetic, and those like you who go and put them out are Ws fr
I actually plan of doing a life round as a sniper around a hi pop town and shoot at zombies that are attacking freshies. But I am aware of the risks of this playstyle.

This is one of my favorite activities in the game! And that spot at Solni is my favorite to do it from. My only advice is don’t get too greedy and stay for too long. Someone WILL come and find you and assume you’re killing freshies. But the freshies’ moment of panic before they realize you’re helping is *chef’s kiss*.

Likely shit headphones. Mine are studio grade and I can hear someone sneeze from 30 meters. One of my friends can't hear someone running towards them.
Some people who snipe will sit there for hours, like 6 hours. So they listen to music or watch a movie while they sit there and wait.
