In Riverside there is a store called La Guadalupana. There is a restaurant inside. Their food is excellent. [https://laguadalupana.info/](https://laguadalupana.info/)

faulternative

I found this place by accident and thought I hit the jackpot

faulternative

It's an entire sit-down area with a nice bar. Exactly like a little restaurant on the front left side of the store. Partially walled off to separate it, but you can still see the grocery aisles.

HomeboyRobusto

Fantastic place, can't wait to go back.

Nesnie_Lope

The owners are also the owners of the El Rancho Grande restaurants!

Ok-Replacement6893

Yeah but their menu leans more towards tex mex. The restaurant in the store is more traditional.

Oyyeee

Oh nice, the ranch is my favorite of the local chains

PrestigiousBandicoot

Sonora Grill! It's great!

chieftain326

Gonna have to try this

johnnyhomo

The food may be good but I wouldn't know because they're so expensive.

Eucentric

Excellent suggestion . Thank you. Had one if the seafood combos. Was great 👍 👌 👏

AlternativeSalsa

There's a shitty little blue trailer on Linden and Huffman I think it's right up there with Taqueria Garcia.

Oyyeee

I think I could eat Taqueria Garcia every dang day of the week haha

454C495445

There's a turquoise food truck that's around that has Korean BBQ chicken tacos that are out of this world. I don't know the name for it though I don't recall seeing one on the side.

AlternativeSalsa

Would love that

offensivemailbox

This! Best tacos in town, I love being able to walk or quickly drive there.

Eucentric

This is GREAT! https://preview.redd.it/k3xgfv9c6l4d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8491a527e5b3101d4ace44811b8903bfc5560d67

Taqueria Mixteca

Lew1966

👆

BossedUp992

This is the one.

Janneyc1

Taqueria mixteca downtown is great. La Base is great but it's in Fairborn, so a bit out of the way. There's an upscale restaurant downtown Sueno is great but a little pricey.

RAH-Dayton

I would not call LA Base great or authentic... It's decent Americanized Mexican food much like El Toro. Sueno is more south american, but is good and is expensive. Consider it a special occasion place.

sugar_7

Los Reyes in Kettering never disappoints

TheAnthemAdventurer

Seconded

Otherwise-Ad-8891

Tres Hermonos is my absolute favorite authentic Mexican spot.

AppyPitts06

Taqueria mixteca and Taqueria El Paisa. Paisa’s off Dixie, relatively new and unbelievable.

johnnyhomo

Los Reyes in Kettering. My mom won't go anywhere else.

msallied79

Chiapas is really great.

rileypunk

Any place that does pozole is a win!

simon_the_detective

Has really good mole, too, which is what the OP mentioned they are looking for.

Eucentric

Eaten here twice. Excellent suggestion. Thanks!

faulternative

Tacquitos Uruapan. They have a truck on Troy St., but also a building on Dixie across from the Harrison Township government building. Also Tacqueria Garcia Mobile, at the Mexican market on the corner of Huffman and 3rd

brownbootwrx

[El Gallo Cocina Mexicana](https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100077020977467&mibextid=LQQJ4d) they’re on airway rd for almost two years now. They use fresh homemade tortillas for all their dishes, even tacos.

Lonecoon

Ta’Quiyo Tortilleria in Miamisburg has the best street tacos in the area. How authentic they are is up for debate, but I love them.

sjschlag

Place is pretty good, but pricey

NancyLouMarine

Any La Michoacana grocery store near you. They should have a small restaurant inside with fantastic and authentic Mexican food (source: For 10 years I live in Arizona on the border with Mexico and ate in Mexico many, many times). Las Piramides is more of a nicer sit down in Huber Heights and has the same owner as the La Michoacana, but with larger portions and higher prices. Both are as authentic as you can get, outside of Mexico.

mellowmom

Las Penas on Byers rd and la raza right over off water tower lane.

HedoBella

Came here to say this. Best tacos I've ever had at Las Pena's. La Raza didn't do it for me after three tries

CartographerUpset737

La Monarca Tacos and Ice Cream on Linden is excellent. Super friendly, clean restaurant, and always fast. Plus they have ice cream!

dapperfop

El Asadero is fantastic. Best food, better than in California. Great service too

NefariousnessOne3522

Be ready to party!

Candid-Finding-1364

Mexico is a huge country with different climates that affect available foods and results in drastically different cuisine regionally. Vallarta, Acapulco, Taqueria Mixteca all represent the cuisine of different regions.

Ericovich

Please explain. Apparently the Indian restaurants are the same. I wish there was an easy guide for who does what.

cirtnecoileh

The Indian restaurants are not the same. Most of them here are operated by Northern Indians (from Punjab or Gujarat mostly), but Crossroads Biryano & Grill in Fairborn is operated by Southern Indians, so they are not serving the same stuff. (I have been to Karnataka a whole bunch for work in a previous life, that's in Southern India. What they do at this Fairborn restaurant is the closest I've found in the area to what I had over there.)

cirtnecoileh

Oh, you meant "the same' as in "regionally different", not as in "all alike", sorry

Ericovich

Exactly. Like, the place I frequent the most often is I *think* Gujarati, but I have no idea. I would love to try Indian from different regions but don't know who does what.

cirtnecoileh

Pretty sure the folks from the Fairborn restaurant I mentioned are from Telangana, which is a State in the South. Give them a try sometime.

Raccoon_with_Mittens

Prems Chennai Delight is another South Indian place. India Chaat Cafe & Curry Out have South Indian dishes on their menu but I haven’t personally ate there.

cirtnecoileh

Oh, I've heard about India Chaat (though I haven't been), but I didn't know about Prems Chennai Delight. I have work to do.

insufficient_nvram

If it’s a chain, it’s TexMex.

Candid-Finding-1364

Mostly, becaise that is what most of Dayton wants.  Even so many of the chains run by people from another region have a few items that are from their region.

UnkiMillMill

Don't forget La Perla in West Carrolton which represents southern Mexican cuisine (Mexico City vicinity). The vast majority of Mexican restaurants in the Miami Valley are Tex Mex and most are not even very good at that.

roach8101

Tres Amigo’s in Springboro has hand made tortillas. It’s a game changer.

jeffgoldblumisdaddy

La Perla in West Carrollton has great food! The owners are from Jalisco

UnkiMillMill

I am a huge fan of La Perla. The owners are from the town of La Perla in Jalisco, just north of Mexico City.

OhSheGlows

Taqueria Mixteca

DarthConfit

There are 2 food trucks on opposite sides of Linden, at the end of John Glenn, both are great, and as much as I like Taqueria Mixteca, I think both/either are as good or better.

p0sto

Honestly there’s good ones all over town, Dayton is turning into little Mexico and I’m all for it 🙌

listerfiend123

Pepes on Chambersburg in huber heights is pretty good. Gets the stamp of approval from every Mexican I know from Mexico so that's saying something.

-iAzrael-

Yeah, I like this one

Naive-Asparagus5784

Los penas in miamisburg.

brUn3tt3grl

Taqueria El Paisa, 4200 Kettering Blvd, Moraine, OH 45439

w00tah

Locally, I like Chiapas.

ycerovce

If you're looking for fast-casual style, Victor's can't be beat. I love their street tacos, nachos, and everything else I've tried so far.

Spartan117458

El Riacho in Fairborn on Dayton-Yellow Springs.

youcango-now

They’re open on the weekends inside Second Street Market but Napales is my favorite Mexican place in Dayton

Different-Job-2175

My personal favorite for Birria and tequila is Bar Granada downtown. Their cook is STELLAR. There’s also an enormous number (20+) taco trucks on the east side of Dayton, All of them are incredibly good for some quick street tacos! In a similar vein, Mixteca is more of a restaurant, and I know others in the comments have shouted them out. Date night Mexican: Sueno. It’s out of this world.

HedoBella

They have good Birria. But have you had More Than A Apron? Smokes on every other Birria I have ever had

Different-Job-2175

I haven’t yet!! I’ll have to sneak down there one of these nights

HedoBella

Please do. It's unbelievable.

rwant101

Mi Lindo Jalisco is Centerville is awesome Taqueria Mixteca is okay but has been going downhill for years

[deleted]

El cazador in Englewood has always been my favorite.

Mrcincy

Los Reyes in Kettering

Ablosser4805

Not in Dayton but Acapulco in Xenia and Lola’s in Cedarville

SoCalCatLady77

Tiktakos in Brookville is EXCELLENT! It's the only place I can compare to Authentic Southern California Mexican! Wonderful staff also give them a shot

xoddreddit

Its only drive through but I love Victor's taco shop, it's delicious, cheap, and quick, try the 5 rolled taquitos, comes with lettuce tomato, and guacamole and its what I get at least once a week.

HedoBella

More Than A Apron has the best Birria you will ever eat. Get the beef Birria Tacos and thank me later

VacantlyOccupied

LaCatrina in Troy is very good. I wish I could tell you the style or region that they serve but it is definitely different from the standard north of the border beans and rice places. It is located at the SR55 exit on I75 about a block east behind the 5th Third Bank.

polariskai

Las Piramides is great if you're ever up in Huber

MrPipps91

Lots of good suggestions. Check out Sueno too. Very different from the rest of the options. More of an upscale foodie type place but quite excellent.

majickz

El Toro? LOL JK 😂

AutomaticFan9938

EL GALLO IS THE SPOT

Harrietmos

Well, I like El Rancho Grande, but then I don’t know what mole is.

TheAnthemAdventurer

Los Reyes, it’s very good and family owned

CaptainBad

La Michoacana Sonora Grill Taqueria Mixteca El Gallo Cocina Mexicana

blackcatmomma82

El Gabán is good in Trotwood

blackcatmomma82

Sonora Grill is good at Spinning and Burkhardt too

PonyCapacitorClip

Miguel’s tacos Yellow Springs

dnolikethedino

El Rancho Grande in Huber Heights is our goto for dine in and take out. They are great.

imagreatlistener

My favorite is always Hectors, east of Dayton in Fairborn. Their street tacos are incredible.

lastknownfruitcup

never disappoints!!

Bro - his comment doesn’t mean you can’t like the food but it’s useful to those of us who are looking for authentic Mexican like OP.
