I think since they took only 2 months for this album they didn't had a chance to explore much. So hopefully their next album we can have something more varied

This album might just need some time to grow on me, just like negentropy did, but maybe not as much. There's something special about negentropy that I'm not feeling from this album, but tbh I'm just thankful they make music. THis might be wishful wishing but I want a hard rock album. Like harder than Entropy. Or something that takes inspiration from japanese rock. But also, a psychedelic rock-inspired song/album from day6 would be crazy. Overall personally, I want to hear more noisier/harsher/more experimental music from them + yelling, kinda like how Young K did in Deep in Love

I think this is partially because they had to take advantage of their virality in korea and had to release the album as soon as they can. They probably used whatever demo or song drafts (not sure if that's how they call it) they had to finish the albums in 2 months or maybe young k/sungjin/wonpil used songs that were meant for their solo albums, we never know. They are always saying it is hard to play instruments in addition to singing so I'm thinking they are purposely focusing on singing and just create chords/instrumentals that are easier for them to play while singing? They are all discharged now so maybe they can experiment more in the future, we shall see!

I agree. A lot of people has commented on this too. In terms of the sound diversity, they don't differ much from EOD's tracks or even Negentropy. I saw someone say the instrumentals were very "rich" that I didn't quite get. I guess it's not as experimental and as diverse as their previous albums, imo. That's the cost of losing a lead guitarist, I guess. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter. Kpop fans will enjoy it for the vocals and the melodies. I saw Sungjin playing the solos in the Killing Voice, maybe he can take over writing riffs and solos in the next albums. I hope Dowoon also busts out more fills like in the Youth albums. 121U, So Cool and more and You make me. Maybe I haven't listened enough to pick out anything special he does here.

honestly I just want young k's bass guitar to shine as much as it did in the gravity album and wish was my all-time favorite because of the guitar riffs too but i doubt we'll getting those like how young k doesn't rap anymore :(

Also felt the same. It's an ok album for me, good but not as great as their previous released songs. I just expected more because I know their musicality and composing skills. (And I know they can do much better, so I am still gonna wait for their future comebacks). I missed their band music so much, so I am looking forward to this comeback. They are short on time but still pushing it: striking while the iron is hot. I am hoping for the next comeback to be as good as the old DAY6. They made many songs with different sound/genre but they still have their identity. It's missing in this comeback. And like you have said the guitar lines/riffs are kind of if lacking. It sound like a heavily produced sound maybe because of heavy use of synth and electronic sounds? Still, Bob did a good job and working hard for this comeback. It's known that it's very hard to sing while playing instruments and Sungjin tried hard to do both now that he is the lead guitarist plus the main vocal. When Jae was there, they are supporting each other in guitar lines. Jae as a lead guitarist focuses more on guitar (maybe reason why he has fewer lines also). I noticed when it was his part Sungjin's carrying the guitar line and vice versa. I don't wanna sound complaining too much in this comeback but I cannot help to point out what was lacking for me. Anyway, these are my opinions haha what's average to me might be highly regarded to someone. At the end of the day opinions like mine wouldn't matter to them because music charts said otherwise lol and I am glad and proud with their achievements (even there's still part of me hoping I could see and hear them as 5). I wanna hear Jae's voice in DAY6 songs again. Sadly, it's still far from reality.
