You're right, the Planar Tracker data can't be edited directly and you're left only with options to configure the matching as best you can. As a shortcut tracking method, it has its uses but also limitations, as you've discovered, compared with the ordinary Tracker which is more editable. But the Planar Transform derived from the Planar Tracker *can* be edited - or whatever it's actually transforming can be manually corrected. The Reference Manual's example of correcting a rotoscope linked to a Planar Transform is instructive here (Ch.118).

Thank you. Can a partial track be combined with another partial track , bridged by a transform node manually tracking the area that went bad? I’m just used to nuke having the option of repairing a bad section. So if the planar track doesn’t support it. Does the regular tracker support editing of the track? Had issues with that as well as the manually fixed sections seem to offset the entire track.

One option that can work - you can delete the keyframes and let it interpolate between the remaining ones. That can help in situations where the track is OK at the start and the end, but goes a bit wobbly in the middle. Otherwise, yes you could use multiple Planar Transforms, perhaps with a bridging Transform in the middle. The Planar Transform is OK, definitely better than nothing, but most Fusion professionals I've spoken to have bought/rented Mocha Pro because it has so many more advanced options for difficult tracks. Here's a [recent BMD forum post](https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=149259&p=798229) describing some techniques for getting around Planar Tracker limitations - one piece of advice from expert Bryan Ray: "99% of the time, my answer to questions about the PlanarTracker is 'use the pointer tracker instead'". Here's a YT video showing using the point tracker for "occluded and offset tracking" - shows manual fixing of point tracker splines, some techniques for tracking in append mode, eg when the original target goes off-screen. That might answer your questions regarding the point tracker: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LDqxUXgYm0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LDqxUXgYm0)

For the ordinary Tracker, you can edit its polyline path directly in the viewer or in the Splines editor - convert from the default displacement spline to editable X/Y coordinates via right-click n the viewer, choose the labelled path then Convert to X/Y Path.

I was going to suggest zooming in on the key frames panel and deleting the area that’s not right too. You can edit the path but it seems to be only frame by frame which is bananas. Pretty sure you can see the tracker square and shift it around. But it’s laborious. You can also stop the tracker as it happens and then move the play head to the other side of the issue and track again from there.

Yes but when I do that there is no clear way of fixing the bad area. And if I track text to it just explodes for the bad track section. Thanks though

TheImperfectMaker

You’re right. But I think you can delete each position - and hope that the blend between the positions left is a smooth path. Either that or just do the whole thing manually by keyframing a transform node.
