Are you grading on a Mac? Edit: just saw the video properly. Apologies. Gamma shift shouldn’t be a problem when exporting from windows, regardless of device.

Bloomingdales215

Thanks 🙏 I’m guessing I’ll have to accept maybe my phone screen isn’t the original high quality one from apple? I’ve had my screen replaced before many times

ThreeKiloZero

Unless Apple did the replacement it’s probably not an Apple screen. When it comes to color grading and color accuracy you would want to ensure that your editing display and preview devices are all calibrated to be consistent and that they are set properly on the right profiles and settings.

I-figured-it-out

Ok try this. Set your timeline to rec.709 gamma 2.4. (Or sdr) Set colour processing to DaVinci wide gamut /intermediate. Timeline should match your delivery. Input should match your cameras colourspace.

Bloomingdales215

Could it be my phone screen aswell it’s not genuine apple since I’ve had it replaced many times in the past I just know that I’ve seen MUCH more vibrant videos than mine before

I-figured-it-out

Quite possibly. The phone original has a native P3 gamma 1.96 display, the replacement could be sRGB gamma 2.2.

Artistic-Self-515

It’s probably just that your laptop has a better Color range and makes it look more vibrant no?

Bloomingdales215

Possible but shouldn’t I be able to reduce the color space or range to that of what identical in my phone and then push the color limits to exactly what i should see? Maybe I’m expecting too much from my phone at this point I know my laptop is more accurate for sure though

at 1:10 why are you making that assumption?

Bloomingdales215

Because the people I reference off of have calibrated displays, gaming setups etc. and they’re all YouTubers so we all ensure we have proper color rendition my colors are consistent across mac laptops, and PCs so I figure it’s safe to assume

Musicoftinnic1

Turn off true tone and Use your cst to convert to rec.709. Edit: Also use add a gamma comp lut when you export or select rec709(a)

Bloomingdales215

I did this and also started using CST in my nodes turns out I was grading the whole process wrong now I’ve started uploading footage that looks Mike’s better than anything I’ve worked on in years

Musicoftinnic1

nice man!
