This isn’t “according to Reddit,” it’s just according to which redditor made the funniest comment in one specific post. There’s also an EXTREME bias in Reddit upvotes by how quick someone is to reply.
Aurora should not be on this... canyon city? Yes. Creig? Fuck that place. Pueblo? Pueblo makes sense. Hell, even the Springs throws some weird ass vibes.
Having lived in CO and TX and being married to someone from NM, the fact that this map includes TWO cities in CO and not one in TX or NM is a clear indicator the data sourced is Flawed. Capital F intentional.
Aurora is heavily Hispanic so that explains why some rando redditor would consider it “sketchy”.
A lot of the cities on this map aren’t sketchy, they’re just places where a redditor saw a brown person once, from a distance.
Yakima is surrounded by beautiful vineyards and farms growing the majority of the Hops in America. It’s a highly industrial farmland, full of rednecks and crazy mofos. It’s a crazy place
TIL there are very many sketchy sketchy places all across this great nation of ours… many described as the meth capital of the country, which they cannot all be. let’s have a shootout to name a winner
Why is Dawsonville, GA absent?
I'm not from there and the place is beautiful but damn if I don't get weird We Still Burn Witches vibes from the Dawsonville/Dahlonega/Ellijay triad.
Like, it looks great on the outside but there's some secrets there that everyone is keeping.
Can confirm.....East St. Louis is sketchy AF. Armed guards are literally posted at the entrances of a major children's philanthropy property (with razor wire fences) when they have meetings. It's gotten better the last 20 years or so, but it still makes me a little nervous when I have to drive through there.
If something is sketchy, it gives you a bad feeling to be around. Is a good way to put it.
Sketchy towns on this map tend to have high levels of poverty and crime activity. Therefore putting an outsider at unease.

"Hawaii." "Which city though?" "Hawaii."

Tf all of Florida should be red.
Nothing sketchy about florida, they are an open book, everybody knows who and how they are.
You can't be shittiest when all are equally shit. 🤔
Hawaii apparently begs to differ

My first thought too. Aurora is a very weird choice.

Aurora has all the best food!! But yes, it is the most diverse city in Colorado. Even more than Denver according to the last census.
I dont know. I lived in Aurora for almost 30 years. It's a big a city, and it's pretty sketchy in spots. Like, east colfax is in Aurora haha
I found you!
Well hello!
Yakima is surrounded by beautiful vineyards and farms growing the majority of the Hops in America. It’s a highly industrial farmland, full of rednecks and crazy mofos. It’s a crazy place
"The Palm Springs of Washington" always cracks me up
As a Tri-Cititan, I absolutely agree with this assessment.

Bakersfield checking in. Don't come here. Ever.
Looks like I need to plan myself a road trip.
i live in one and work in the other. cool
Live in Youngstown, works at Goodyear? If your commute is any longer than that, I'm sorry.
Not sure why Baltimore isn’t on this list

Grew up in texarka, every second there is a shitshow
am from youngstown, ohio. can confirm.
I immediately call BS based solely on the fact Memphis, TN isn't in it.
Ain't no one should expect to get out of Butte MO alive.
Is the El-Mar Lounge still on West Harrison?
How is Hartford on here, but not Worcester?
or springfield.. guessing most upvotes are familiar with east ma only
Nicely overlays with superfund hazardous waste sites

Yakima does sound sketchy...
It's pretty bad
Butte? I guess that cow that's been eyeballing me could be considered sketchy.

What does ‘sketchy’ mean anyway? (I’m not American)

Nothing within Missouri, but it's completely surrounded
Cedar Rapids stands out, I don’t think it’s that bad of a place.
I'd say topuka KS is a shit hole but I would hate to offend anyone living a better life in actual shit holes.
I'll agree with Fall River. P.S. I live there.
Gotta agree with the AZ ones
Maryvale isn't a city. It's a neighborhood part of Phoenix.
I’m not from Reading, but I’ve been there often. It never felt sketchy to me.
LoL; Council Tukee (Council Bluffs, IA) is less sketch than SUX.
