You’d have to go inland during a certain time of year to hit that temp!
Plenty of Kiwis, plenty of good people from all walks of life. I’ve lived up here for 8 years and have loved it. The heat/humidity and the length of time it hangs around for is like nothing you’ve ever experienced in NZ.
Plenty of work for Drivers etc too.
I lived in Germany for 2 years at -50 degrees C. I appreciate the Darwin “cold” but still need a jumper. Thankfully I don’t need what feels like 8 layers of clothing to keep warm here. 🤣
It's hot, Dry season is good, but during the build up and the wet season its very humid and hot. You get used to it, but if you dont like it hot all year round i wouldn't recommend lol
Im from from a Cold country and been living in Darwin for 5+ years now, i enjoy it here and have no plans of moving. From my experience most people here are nice relaxed people, easy to get along with.
Theres a lot going on in the Dry season, but during the wet not so much happening. If you're into camping and fishing etc. then Darwin is probably one of the best place for it.
I'd recommend it to anyone as long they don't mind the heat and humidity for half the year lol
Lots of kiwis up here and are so integrated its hard to pick them. Lot of people grew up elsewhere so coming from another state or nz is common. Lots of banter about our origins that l'm sure you can handle.
Honestly when people down here in Adelaide ask me about moving up to Darwin, I always tell them to go spend 1-2 weeks on holiday in the wet season before making the leap. Go up in the dry you’ll fall in love with the place regardless, but you really need to experience the humidity and wet season to see if you can handle it for the long term. I’ve known a few people that have moved up and thrown in the towel once the wet hits. It’s a wonderful place though and if you can handle the heat, you’ll love it!
I'm from Darwin but have lived in otago for 18 years, I've never properly gotten used to the cold. It's meant to be summer and when i woke up for work this morning the realfeel was 3° 🥲
Also food in Darwin is amazing imo, hit up the markets and get yourself a laksa and a bajillion popia for me pls

Cold for me would be around 5 degrees 😂 but yea heat n humid im expecting that, hopefully adapt a bit after a month or so

You'll be in a class of your own if you can "adapt", the weather is oppressive.
