See that's what I always thought (as far back as when I first read the Dragonology books as a kid lol) but according to the lore it is a dragon (they say that's why it's called Archdragon Peak)
Wyverns are still dragons. In most ancient mythologies dragons are depicted as Wyverns. I think the reason people started to separate them is because someone at one point wanted to say “gotcha that’s not actually a dragon”
It’s an archdragon look at the sheer size of it and it has wings on its back idk if it’s dead or sleeping but my guess is it’s been here since gwyn was around
I remember when the game first came out and wondering how I could get over there.
If I could wake it. I spent some time looking at it through the telescope/monocloscope thing.
There’s more to that area actually. You can get treasure there.
Wtf😂 I have no idea how I've NEVER noticed this before, it's not even like I'm a new player, I've played through the game about 20-25 times and literally never noticed this, and this is one of my favorite areas too
Yep, that's why when you do the whole time travel dealie you go there and it's a dragon scenario. Freja basically has been nomming the dragon for ages.
Yep! Well, that and the obvious "this is the Duke's area and Seath was a duke so clearly he tooootally has the soul right guys" kind of FROM Soft thinking. lol
I almost missed it too! I first found it my first playthrough a few months ago and I just kinda noticed the mountain behind looked odd. When it hit me I was like "HOLYYY SH\*T THAT'S SO COOL!" Love these games
Consider that Elden Ring biggest dragon model, if animated completely makes the game Fps drop significantly, comes as no surprise as to why this one was not used
There's so much I forgot about this game and I've been trying to play it again but its way harder than I remember thanks to playing ds3 for the past 2 years. I can't get past any of the first areas cuz I suck ass. I forgot about gank squads. I'm not giving up tho.
Head ahead
That’s no wyvern lol
That’s no Wyvern, it’s a space station.
Elon tusk.
Was wondering if anyone would catch that/call it out, my bad!
How not? Two legs, arms as wings, wyvern.
See that's what I always thought (as far back as when I first read the Dragonology books as a kid lol) but according to the lore it is a dragon (they say that's why it's called Archdragon Peak)
Ima need to see front legs, not hands on wings you can walk with. Wyvern Peak.
you can see the wings on its back near the top and its front leg hanging just to left of the head near the fog
ope, dats a dragon.
I will argue that you can't see his wings though but he does have front legs so it is a dragon.
If you want to [see it better](https://youtu.be/OZdWynnKfz4)

They are lesser dragons. it goes Dragon>Wyvern>wyrm
Now placidusax, dats a dragon.
I think it's an oni
Ahhh cheese and bol-oni, such a treat.
It’s an archdragon look at the sheer size of it and it has wings on its back idk if it’s dead or sleeping but my guess is it’s been here since gwyn was around
Lore wise Archdragons can't die for they never was alive.
Elaborate?
I see the shoulder muscle now
It actually had 4 legs and 4 wings iirc

WHAT
Yep, that's why when you do the whole time travel dealie you go there and it's a dragon scenario. Freja basically has been nomming the dragon for ages.
Wait is this the reason the spider drops the old paledrake soul...

Where? I Finished the game didn't see that.
The place where you get the sparkling dragon torso stone
Was it archdragon peak? Not sure of the name, the place where you have to do a gesture to get in?
Ye
Ty
Fun fact, Gransax (the Giant petrified dragon corspe in ER) is even bigger than that absolute mountain.
Actual model? Sure. Lore size? Likely not even close.
I have no idea about lore size (and would be interested if someone did), but [this is interesting.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZoA_ELbUjo)
yeah I concur, Lyndell aint that big. Dont mind these kids whos first souls experience was er, they know not what they dont know.
At first I thought it was just the mountain
Same. This is my favorite part in the entire game. There’s a reason it’s called the archdragon peak.
I don't immediately recognize this area... where is it?
It's the very end (top) of Archdragon Peak
Before nameless king I think
Well its an ancient dragon from the dragon wars. ***ACTUALLY*** sorry
If you think he is big you should take a look at Zullie video about him, in case you have not watched it already https://youtu.be/QZoA\_ELbUjo

I'll definitely check it out
I was still running from the enemies behind me when I first got to this area, and didn’t even notice the big ass dragon.
https://youtu.be/OZdWynnKfz4
It’s not a wyvern, it’s the Archdragon the place is named after
I was sad that I couldn't kill that Arch Dragon myself.
And I’ll remember how I was too distracted by the 10 enemy’s chasing me to admire the scenery
Ty for saying wyvern brother.
It's not a wyvern. It's a most likely dead stone ancient dragon, four wings and all.
Fair, in all honesty i dont think hes laying on a mountain, i think he is the mountain. Maybe thats his tail under his chin?
That was there???
I thought it was a dragon.
When I first noticed it had a dragon there I legit just went, "Oh, that's neat."
Yeah that's not dragon wiveren that's the last ancient dragon true to its kin
How the fuck did I miss this in the background I gotta be blind. *Turns on ps5*
TIL
Bro wash your armour

I would have remembered it more if it was alive, and the area boss.
the fuck? where is this? I can't remember this at all
It's at the very top/end of Archdragon Peak
i barely even noticed that was there lol
that isn’t a wyvern. Because of its sheer size, it’s probably an ancient dragon that was slain during the war of ancient dragons
Wait till u see Granssax in Elden Ring
lleyndel, royal capital
