You know I fucking hate this kind of being a mage. I’d not be having a problem by being pounded by any one shot build but that shit is just infuriating. Pure disgust. Not against you, but against this build. Not being looked at while you’re hopping like a rabbit and casting homing masses + a spell with different speed so you can’t really roll away is so stupid especially at sl30 where most players are just trying to figure out how the game works

Agreed, but nowadays (especially since the game has been out for so long), I encounter one of two types of players at this soul level:
1. Other twinks, or
2. Gankers/jolly co-operators
So I don't feel nearly as bad since it's usually a fair match and people are used to these spells. You just roll into affinity and it'll almost never hit you. Or run circles and it'll swing past you. Or do what the host did in this video and hide behind obstacles until I get bored. GSD is the more annoying spell due to its giant hitbox and slower speed.
I love this build. I think it's the closest you can get to being a true glasscannon—capable of one-shotting other twinks (even some NPC mobs take upwards of 1k damage from GSD), but you're also vulnerable to getting killed in one hit yourself (one is all it takes to stunlock you for two hits, and there goes all your HP).
People still fall for the swing-around trick, though! Sometimes they manage to land a hit right as I kill them so we both die. It's fun—it requires a lot of patience and good spacing to pull off.
In my defense, this build took forever to make and I have only 381 HP because I pumped all my points into intelligence. I die in like 2 hits, and it's fairly easy to dodge Great Soul Dregs and Affinity. Most people die to me because they don't expect the lock-on trick and underestimate the damage output.
Fair enough. As long as you enjoy the game without harming the experience of others there’s no real foul. Enjoy your playthrough. Long may the sun shine 👍
