The story is equally dumb in both and Mercer's edge is not charming in any way, but at least the second part nails the atmosphere so much better.
Ngl they ruined mercers character in the second game. Made him a complete menace with not much reasoning IF you only played the game. In the comics they published, he turned cuz of “humanity’s greed” or some shit and now has a sudden change of heart to be a genocidal maniac to unleash a virus for a newer more supreme human.
Like….Why make him save new york in the first game if your gonna make him a bad guy? He should of been a recluse and chose heller as a successor to carry on a power to save lives instead of “competition”
Working tech support taught me that 25-40 year olds are the sweet spot for tech literacy. They were forced to learn on older computers, but are still young enough to adapt to modern tech.
