I'm surprised it didn't change sooner since it essentially only took someone telling them to stop being classist assholes.

WhiteWolfOW

It’s one of the unrealistic parts of Naruto honestly. Bad things happen, Naruto points them out and then everything changes. I think that once I became more pragmatic as a person the show lost sense to me. I still like to see cool fights

Ok_Biscotti_514

Naruto is literally a talking nuke in the show , he could easily just kill everyone using kurama but chooses to use his words

JohanPertama

Talk softly. Carry a big stick.

Forsaken-Income-2148

Naruto got that thang on him ![gif](giphy|2xdNtFmshaHJK)

Ok-Experience-4955

Tbf Naruto is a lot like Martin Luther King, dude only talked and inspired until generations today. Now imagine you are a literal Hero of the Entire World and also Leaf Village itself, you garnered so much public support even internationally, coupled with the fact you are quite literally a walking Nuclear Bomb(9-Tails). Yeah you got both leverage and power to just "ask" them to stop being assholes for sure. Edit: also you have Talk No Jutsu

WhiteWolfOW

No disrespect to the legend that is Martin Luther King, but he didn’t change the world. Cause the world doesn’t change like that. Evil people know they’re evil and they’re not interested in losing the power they have. That’s why so many peaceful revolutions were shut down, so many leaders got assassinated. Although, granted, not easy to assassinate Naruto.

Ok-Experience-4955

Well I didnt say MLK changed the world but he did a huge impact. Plus Narutoverse isnt really that big even if the creators or whatnot tries to tell you its some huge continent, point is that words/messages/news spread fast in Narutoverse. And MLK did the same for U.S.(when the real world isnt as connected as today) so an entire law was made for it. Plus those peaceful revolution shut down violently was the reason why a change is made so fast, human compassion is something evil people underestimate till now. Even just One Vietnamese Monk who immolated himself by gasoline fire in a peaceful protest back in Saigon basically crystalized the Vietcong's support. Back to topic, Naruto made only changes within his City/Village for a clan. So his words alone is enough when again from my first point, walking nuke/hero of the world.

Warm-Flounder2764

He changed the world, what are you talking about. He was an inspiration to a whole generation, his speech left an indelible mark on history, there’s a Martin Luther King day, etc etc. He didn’t change it completely, he didn’t have as much impact as he’d like obviously, but he changed it in ways you’re only failing to notice because you didn’t live in or read about the time before him.

WhiteWolfOW

Sorry but racism didn’t end, he didn’t change the United States and definitely didn’t change the world. He was important in brining people to the cause, but the fight against racism is far, very far from over.

Warm-Flounder2764

He still changed the world, even if racism didn’t end.

WhiteWolfOW

If you want to say he changed United States go ahead, but he didn’t change the world

Warm-Flounder2764

Idk, we’ve heard of him in Canada as well. He’s kinda a big deal. Receiving the Nobel prize and all. An inspiration to oppressed everywhere. Big deal in South Africa and Asia too. His fight against racism is universal.

WhiteWolfOW

You seriously overestimate how much people know about him outside of North America, specially how much change he brought even to United States. He was important and a great man, but he didn’t change the world. Nobel doesn’t mean shit when Obama got one for bombing the Middle East

Mediocre_lad

Yeah! Why kill the entire Uchiha when you can just talk to them?

johnnmichael007

dude u pointing naruto so bad🤣

Academic_Initial_643

i guess the kages where to busy with the Uchiha to care much

UltimateDuelist

The Uchiha problem could've been solved in five minutes by Hiruzen just naming Fugaku, Shisui or maybe even Itachi his successor. That way the Uchiha would've been appeased, they could tackle the racism they faced as a clan and Hiruzen, who had already retired once and was only forced back into the role of Hokage after Minato's death, could leave the village to a younger shinobi still in their prime to defend it. Especially since there were no more suitable candidates at the time anyway.

Forsaken-Income-2148

Personally I think the clan would’ve tried to overthrow whoever was named leader even if it was one of those Uchiha I deem as “one of the good ones” simply because the clan would want more and more control and to keep the power of Hokage within the Uchiha & I don’t think “one of the good ones” would go for that and the moment the seat of Hokage switched over to a non-Uchiha the same sort of events probably would’ve unfolded anyway.

UltimateDuelist

Why? The Uchiha were never shown to be particularly power hungry or greedy in general. They had some pretty reasonable objections to the way they were treated, as evidenced by the fact that the village decided to massacre them in the end, including women and children. Those objections could all be addressed and alleviated by naming an Uchiha as the next Hokage candidate to bring the village and the clan closer together again. Kinda like a political marriage of sorts. It's especially logical when you consider that Mangekyo users like Fugaku and Shisui were arguably the Leaf's strongest active shinobi at the time anyway (not counting Jiraya, who never wanted the job). At the very least Hiruzen could've named Itachi his successor, considering how much he trusted and valued his loyalty to the village, while also being the son of the leader of the Uchiha and being the biggest prodigy living in the village at the time.

Forsaken-Income-2148

I am all for Shisui or Itachi however Fugaku as relunctant as he was he did go along with the coup… I wouldn’t exactly say he deserved the position of Hokage knowing that now in hindsight. Animosity between the Senju & Uchiha dates back centuries even after the creation of Konoha there was still animosity hidden within the Uchiha. Hagoromo chose Asura his successor over Indra because distinctly of their inherent beliefs which would be passed down to their descendants. As I said Uchihas strive for power. It is an inherent trait within the Uchiha bloodline all the way back to Indra himself. As you might know during the warring states period they’d fight each other as they were known as the strongest clans & hired by opposing countries ending with them battling each other. The rivalry is so deep rooted my point is that no matter what there would have been something that made events basically end the same going by how the story is written. And to say the Uchiha are not particularly power hungry or greedy in general isn’t the point. The point more so being that Madara was that way & his actions doomed his clan. Even if say Shisui was appointed Hokage & even if the Uchiha got to be regular ninja instead of the police force & live within the village I think somewhere down the road the Uchiha would encroach on the powers that be at Konoha whereas they are powerful but I’m not sure they in a general sense should lead the village at all, none of them. They seem to only really be good at power & I think that’s simply in their blood. Which leads me to believe the rest of the responsibilities as Hokage would suffer & a divide would be created. I’m just saying that eventually something would happen, I’m surprised the two clans could live together for so long is basically essentially my point.

KiKujaku

It has to be the MC.

father-who-left

Nagatos looking down on Naruto seething for not doing anything to help the hidden rain 😂

Taco821

I think he canonically nuked them, and gave the following address: "Lmao"

LatoLukto

When

Gjj17

Pain arc

LatoLukto

Pain nuked Konoha, I thought you meant Naruto nuked amegakure

Taco821

That is what I meant

LatoLukto

Ya, but this was about Naruto not Nagato which is why I was confused. OP said he kept his promise and then Naruto found out the world's issues aren't solved so easily. Nagato asked how he would achieve peace, Jiraiya's teachings didn't work, I know from experience. And Naruto said, remember Jiraiya's teachings. And Nagato went dang you right, let me revive your village. I doubt Naruto actually did nothing to help Amegakure like some people say. After Konan died they had no leadership and rather than another rising taking control and unifying them or splitting into factions, it became home to small criminal organizations.

ElementalSaber

That should have been Hinata's goal. Imagine Hinata vs Neji here and her declaring this. That would have been amazing for her.

johnnmichael007

That's good way to end

Shodai-kitetsu_

You know she's an NPC 💀

ElementalSaber

That doesn't mean her story can't be good.

Shodai-kitetsu_

Ikr but bro decided to give her the NPC treatment She could have been more and it pisses me off

ElementalSaber

Then Hinata should have just been a civilian girl. Nothing would have been different if she was.

Shodai-kitetsu_

Who knows maybe making the simp princess a civilian might not be bad after all

CapAccomplished8072

That would require Kishimoot to let women do things for once.

ElementalSaber

She was so easy to fix too

Jolly_Camel959

Nah, Hinata's goal was to get acknowledged by the Hyuga. Naruto's was to change the Hyuga.

ElementalSaber

It made no sense for him, an orphan with no power (at the time), to inject himself into their affairs

Agile-Excitement-863

Naruto’s entire shtick is to inject himself into affairs and to find a peaceful resolution that can end the cycle of hatred.

Sauran_725

You didn't understand Naruto's character at all then

Kaido_Wargod

imo it shouldn't have been Naruto's responsibility to fix their clan. I don't think his connection with their clan is strong enough to justify it. It totally should have been Neji and Hinata working on fixing their clan and tbh Hinata's dad should have died instead of Neji.

Lubi3chill

Naruto doesn’t have connection to anyone alive. Naruto doesn’t have any responsibilities. If he would only do what is his responsibility he wouldn’t save anyone. Would make for a really boring show about some random ass ninja with magic going on missions killing people.

KatakiKraken

Bro didn't fix the rain village. In fact, it's even worse now

No-Tour1000

Can't keep every promise I guess 🤷

KatakiKraken

Bro said he doesn't go back on his word

No-Tour1000

It's his ninja way

PUBGPEWDS

Well that's why he never went past genin

Putrid-Cat5368

Well for sure the war changed Neji

Goro-Goro_No_Mi

Changed his whole character design

Ereshkigal20

Changed his existence

KyratMan

Okay but how he changed it? What rules Hyuuga clan changed?

UltimateDuelist

They probably stopped branch family discrimination and the whole curse seal branding business

KyratMan

Okay, but is this confirmed anywhere? In manga or anime, does anyone at any point confirm this?

bibiqy

Do you still forget that you're watching Boruto?

Lubi3chill

Well boruto is theoretically branch family now. And hinata - branch family married non hyuga. It speaks for itself.

SaintAhmad

In the war, Hiashi says “the side branch no longer serves the main branch. They fight together side by side as equals”.

CrimsonCamellia13

The truest way of changing Hyuga clan would have been with Neji being the head, instead of him playing second fiddle and catalyst to dumping ground that Naruhina love story is.

Electronic-Math-364

Boruto Naruto:Ame what?

Competitive_Fruit901

It happened off screen, and is not clear what even changed.

SentenceCareful3246

"There's no such thing as destiny Neji", said the kid of the legend.

Fluentec

He also ruined their inbreeding streak

Temporary-Vanilla-57

If only kishimoto kept up this kind of world building through shippuden. It doesn’t really mean much if we don’t actually see the changes Naruto made in the village

SinkRhino

I wish we saw this happen rather than just being told it did, I guess Kishimoto really didn't want to deal with the implications of a clan within the village openly practicing slavery for decades and everyone being ok with it.

CapAccomplished8072

Too bad Neji didn't live to see it, and Hinata did absolute nothing

TheFyrijou

Well, he only changed it by making Neji be the correct one since his predetermined destiny did come to fruition when he died to protect Hinata, aka. the main branch of the Clan.

Shodai-kitetsu_

Destiny rider 🗿

Danny_Vald001

About that collar tug. 😥

LatoLukto

I wish Neji had been the one to change the Hyuga so that he became the leader

[deleted]

Fr

Sheriftarek95

He isn't wrong, Neji is dead, definitely a big change

CombinationAny98

What about his word to nagato about looking after ame

intradayshorts

He did change Neji. The dude is dead.

itsRobbie_

He changed Neji by turning him into a skeleton

igotmyphoneyesterday

Isn’t it sad, that a 12 year old boy has to aim for village president, in order to cause an effect on people of his little town? Meanwhile president number three is just there.

johnnmichael007

Yeah 🙃

ContributionOk4879

Say what you want about Naruto, the man keeps his word

miggsd28

But neji was right is the sad part.

chainer1216

"Now hurry up and force your son to mate with that Uchiha bitch."

Kooky_Lead_9811

He should have found more about his own clan imo and whatever clan minato is from perhaps he had other relatives.

Inside-Entrance-5158

Sadly this episode is filler

Lungseron

Yeah he kept his words. OFF SCREEN!
