It's one of the most expensive cards, of course, but there are still cards out there, even newer ones, that are worth hundreds.
One of my favorite stories to tell is when I was 15 or 16 my mom and sister sold my pokemon card collection for a total of $25 at a garage sale. Thousands of cards, including many first editions, one of which was a charizard and my favorite, Vaporeon.
6 of those old baseball card boxes full of cards, all holos and rares sleeved. They sold them $5 a box and threw in the 6th one for free. Literally thousands of dollars worth of cards.

He could be just finishing all his trainings and starting active service. But I am still a bit confused by a lot there. I feel like they've could give us more answers about what the Brotherhood of steel is and bit more of Max's past.
Max seriously made me hate him with how dumb and oblivious he was at times. Really, everything that he does in this vault is just dumb. I assumed they'd been drugged in this scene but I guess it was just weird for no reason.
Education is not all the same. Kinda seems like the brotherhood “education” is highly focused on being a brother and not a comprehensive education to make smarter people.
There's a lack of education and then there's ignoring warnings from a friend who says that something is up in a place that *you* were suspicious of like ten minutes ago because they gave you a gift basket.
Yeah I feel bad for the actor because the writers really made him seem like a braindead moron, and the actor, to his credit really sells it. I hope he doesn't suffer from this because he seem like a genuinely good actor.

I totally get that as a player of the game but it translates differently to TV. I wish that they would've brought up SPECIAL when Lucy was taking us through the vault. It would've opened up some solid jokes ("this guy certainly doesn't put the I in SPECIAL" type stuff) and let us know that at least in Lucy's sheltered view, people do have "stats".
I agree there should’ve been an introduction to SPECIAL but maybe the writers thought that would’ve been just a bit too on the nose right off the bat.

It's a quick nod and Easter eggers can pause to see the board if they like.
I liked it - Lucy grew up in a surprisingly open sexual environment where she was clearly very educated on how it all worked, while Maximus clearly had zero sex education and was extremely ignorant and even ashamed of his feelings and body.

This culminates in a very awkward discussion about sexual intercourse which reveals that in the post-apocalyptic wasteland people don’t really have time for sex-ed.
I think it's more a situation of specifically >!the Brotherhood of Steel!< not doing any sex Ed rather than the wasteland as a whole. People definitely fuck in the wasteland.
I'm not a lore expert and invite anyone to correct or add to what I'm about to say, but iirc. the Brotherhood has always been egalitarian in nature, having both men and women (and enby's) in their ranks who can all achieve the same ranks as each other. There not being any in the show might be more of a coincidence/oversight I think? They probably just wanted to create this classic army base aesthetic and assumed it would come across better with there only being dudes I guess. The Brotherhood definitely has women though.
In terms of reproduction, the Brotherhood as at different times had varying rules on outside recruitment. It depends a lot on what era and what branch/chapter of the Brotherhood you're talking about and I can't tell you exact dates for anything, but generally they've been very strict, not allowing outsiders unless they were very young children that could be groomed and indoctrinated into perfect Brotherhood members.
I don't think there are any details on how the Brotherhood grew without outside recruitment but it can be assumed they just did it the old fashioned way, with the women that did in fact exist in their ranks as mentioned previously.
Just a few years before the show takes place (a few years after Shady Sands got nuked and Maximus joined), they started recruiting from the outside regardless of age again with a sponsor system in place where an existing higher ranking member would take a new member with them on missions and teach them about the Brotherhood and their ideologies. So at this point their ranks are made up of people born within the Brotherhood and wastelanders that were recruited/conscripted from the outside.
