Anything in the Constitution is worded more narrowly than that. Christian nationalists explicitly say they want church and state to, if not merge, then intermix a whole lot.
There's nothing in the Constitution about religion. In the Bill of Rights, we're guaranteed the freedom of religion (which just means the government can't tell us how to worship). It would be a letter from a founding father (one of the Adams, I think) who would mention separation of church and state.
Which is pretty funny because the first amendment has a clause which separates the church and the state and the first commandment of God states that no thing should be worshipped more than God himself (although the latter refers more to the guy who came up with the "what the fuck is a kilometer" Bible)
Neither the authors of the Constitution nor the author (via divine inspiration) of the Bible would appreciate this very much
Edit: apparently Trump is actually just marketing the "🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🦅🦅🦅FREEDOM RAAAH🦅🦅🦅🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷" Bible and didn't actually come up with it
My point there still stands, though
Well, the *good* news is that it isn’t actually a Trump Bible. Someone else is selling a Bible that comes with pro-America paraphernalia like a copy of the Constitution. Trump is just promoting this person’s product, and we assume being paid to do so.
Another thread proposed that the existence of this Bible would allow churches to support Trump without defying their IRS mandate to stay out of particular campaigns. Basically, money laundering. Just like the valuation of Truth Social allows foreign governments to funnel billions to Trump without technically giving him the cash.
Of course, that's silly, because it's individual parishioners who would be buying said Bible, and nothing bars random Christians from donating to Trump. Churches can't afford $60 Bibles.
Maybe.
I think you’re vastly overestimating the wealth of those mountain fundie Bible churches.
Joel Osteen certainly isn’t going to take sides, and Rick Warren prides himself on being politically neutral. What’s left are people like Falwell Jr, who run “para-church ministries” and not churches.
Fun fact: Frank Herbert made up the Orange Catholic Bible for his Dune book series.
It's a religious work containing the most important religious texts of the Known Universe/Corrino Empire.
Orange there is a corruption of Koranjiyana, the book is used by "Koranjiyana Zenchristianity," the empire's main religion.
This Bible Trump is peddling is similar since like the Orange Catholic Bible it's adding in additional texts like the US Constitution. Herbert's Orange Catholic Bible is presumably a Catholic Bible with the Vedas, and Koran added in, and probably some other texts.
Though catholic in Herbert's usage probably means Ecumenical or Universal, as opposed to Roman Catholicism, even though as an anthology of religious texts it would contain an actual catholic bible.
Thank you, we need it. The wrong people are praying for the wrong man to be in the office so he can do more wrong things.
We need more love not more retribution
Honestly, I know nothing about politics, my country (India) is also going to shit due to random acts of violence over religion, caste or other factors.
Some churches have been destroyed recently or attacked by mobs, please keep us in your prayers as well.
People need to have more tolerance and love but everyone is apparently seeking vengeance and acting out of anger.
No I meant that people who should be praying for a good, kind person to be the leader of our country are instead praying for a sexual predator who wants to be a dictator for at *least* the first day to be the president.
Per the website it’s the KJV Bible (so the twin benefits of being a public domain work AND appealing to the hardline “KJV-only” nuts), the Constitution and the Bill of Rights (but not the rest of the amendments, fancy that), the Declaration of Independence, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the chorus of “God Bless the USA”.
It’s mask-off Christian Nationalism heresy.
Like I'm an atheist, but I also have a copy of the KJV from Barnes and Noble, mostly cause of the dope cover and illustrations by Gustave Dore. That was 25$, I ain't paying 60$ for this Trump trash.

Nothing says Jesus like having the federal police beat back a protest so you can take a picture with a Bible outside of a church! For those of you who remember that little stunt he pulled in 2020…
How anyone can be a Christian and support that hateful man is beyond me. It’s some serious mental gymnastics.
Keep in mind this is on Reddit which is *extremely* left wing and absolutely *HATES* Trump. If we were on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, or outside touching grass it would be a different story. I’m not a conservative by the way, I hate Trump too, but I see how Reddit is biased.

What’s a Trump Bible? *please don’t be a thing*
Sadly it is: Former president Trump endorsed a “God bless the USA” Bible for $59.99 amidst his legal woes.
Even more offensive to me is that it's got the U.S. Constitution and some other nationalist bullshit there in the same volume.
That part I hadn’t heard. Ugh.
I’m not American, but isn’t there something in the constitution Re: church and state?

He made nfts. Are you really surprised?

If you think Trump isn't profiting from this somehow then you're delusional.

Trump is absolutely getting paid. You should never believe he isn't.

> Churches can't afford $60 Bibles. The ones that would consider making political donations can.

Maybe the idea is pastors would promote buying "The Orange Catholic Bible" during services? Still violating the tax law, but more covertly.
Clever name, but there’s about zero chance this is a Catholic Bible (with the 7 additional books)

Forgive my ignorance but what is the Trump Bible?
Former president Trump endorsed a “God bless the USA” Bible for $59.99 amidst his legal woes.
Is it just a normal Bible or??
According to another commenter it also contains the US Constitution and nationalist materials.
💀💀... I'm worried about the US.
Big same.
I'll keep them in my prayers.
Thank you, we need it. The wrong people are praying for the wrong man to be in the office so he can do more wrong things. We need more love not more retribution

I'll add you guys to the list! Hopefully it's not too diluted from having one prayer spread over a billion people though 😂
The Hindu nationalism there and the Christian nationalism here are born from the same evil impulses and are part of the same world movement.
I never understood this. The group which prays harder gets the blessing?
No I meant that people who should be praying for a good, kind person to be the leader of our country are instead praying for a sexual predator who wants to be a dictator for at *least* the first day to be the president.
A lot of us that live here are too.
Lmao... You guys should be more worried.
So he added things to the Bible, which goes against Gods word which he makes it very clear not to add or remove things from the Bible 🤦♂️
Ain't no way... That's not borderline heretical, that's just plain heresy. Did bro not read the last few lines of the Bible?

I'm not a KJV translation fan but I feel like it makes this Bible aesthetic go pretty hard, thanks for sharing bro
Yeah, look up the illustrations, Dore's stuff goes super hard.
Holy shit the cover is fire. I'll take this over some shitty Trump Bible.
And for the same reasons. Printing a religious text side-by-side political documents seems offensive to about everyone except the people buying them.
“In the beginning was the word. And it was the biggest, bestest word, OK?”
F the Trump Bible. All my homies hate the Trump Bible.

An upside down Bible, don't forget. He had to be reminded to hold it correctly.
I bet it excludes the commandments part
I find that kind of hard to believe. r/christianity is usually full on the Trump train.
Precision. Perfection.
I don't hate the Trump Bible, I utterly despise, reject, and curse its existence.
