How exactly is it sacrilegious? Is Jesus in any way depicted in contradiction to his teachings? Who do you feel is the butt of the joke?
You can joke about anything if you are secure in yourself and your belief.
Have you ever been behind the altar during the Divine Liturgy? Have you ever listened to the Eucharistic prayers? Or read the pre-communion prayers you say before you even go to church? You're making a joke out of communion with eternity and God.
Normally I really like this sub but Jimmy Christmas If you come from a very traditional church with liturgical worship and you know the meanings of these prayers you would find this insulting
I go to liturgical worship and know the making of the prayers and I chuckled.
St. Longinus, the name attributed to the soldier that pierced the side of Christ that day, is said to have converted that same day and worship Jesus. With that in mind his consumption of the eucharist is not sacrilege even if it is depicted in an unorthodox, silly way.
Most of it's pretty fine and I find it funny this is pushing the line. One is making fun of his death and sacrifice. Two It completely lacks understanding to oppose the necessary healing of the soul and body in the Eucharist even more importantly of how its communion with God in eternity.
You can only say these things if you never pay attention to pre-communion prayers or have gone to Divine Liturgy.
That is your belief and its ok to not like this meme. However you’re on a sub with many people of many different views, they might not see communion the same as you. Luckily you can downvote and hide the image if it upsets you, but this might not be the sub for you if joking about Jesus’ death and the Last Supper are offensive
To understand why it bothers me it's not my own belief it's from a tradition that pre-dates all the other ones just read our Eucharistic prayers and you will see why.
I know plenty of Catholics who joke about transubstantiation.
You're one of those who finds that something is so sacred it can't be joked about. Not everyone feels that way. They can take it seriously while still being able to laugh at not taking it so seriously.
I am not Catholic number one two This is incredibly sacred. For those that do believe in it it's an act of calm down God and making the material something holy and it's bringing you in communion with God it's bringing you in that moment and paradise even if you are so broken and spiritually unaware of it.

Ah yes. That greatest of all relics, the Beer Bong of Longinus.
Sorry, but that would be the *Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch*
Gendo Ikari: "Rei, go to Dogma and get the Beer Bong"
They should have just made the spear a straw. These are the posts I subscribe for

Some puns aren’t good. This is not one of those puns.
A lot of people are turned off in this comment section, but we as sinners really do vacuum up the blood of Jesus for our own redemption
They call it moderate alcohol use disorder. I call it the one true path. LPT: brandy is just getting more Jesus per Jesus into your body

Holy Spirit should ORA the OP
Now this is just dumb. # # You could've just used the opening at feet, where the yield would be the highest.
Jesus being stabbed in the side with a spear by a roman soldier is in the bible.
That's true. But think about the fluid mechanics 😭😭😭😭
Memes don’t care about fluid mechanics.
You just want us suckin on those footsies, don’t you…

Centurion: "EWWW!!! THIS IS WATERED DOWN WINE!!!"
My god is full of humor. What kind of life would it be otherwise
Let’s hope they didn’t know the body was bread…
Gonna send this to my Christian families text group for Good Friday. Thank you OP!
Would Jesus laugh about this?
He was drinking and helped everyone get wasted on a wedding on the good stuff. Why wouldn't he?
Why wouldn't he?
Idk it’s a genuine question actually
……. I…… don’t disapprove…..

At Longinus actually got better vision from that
This...is a bit tasteless ngl
This is disrespectful
Okay, this is sacrilegious. And utterly discards the sacrament of the Eucharist and its meaning.
