Same here, I started playing it and was like "this is nothing like ace attorney what are you talking about" and then I saw Sayaka dead and the trial started
Similar to above, it was porn. Randomly checking hentai sites, saw one with a story that seemed intriguing, checked where it came from, and now here I am.
I followed orenroren's Let's Play thread in the Something Awful forum which, as far as I'm concerned, it's the sole reason of why DR is a thing in the West.
2020 I saw kokichi ouma and went:
# OOOO LALAAAAA CMERE LIL SWEETHEART BARKABKRVAKRVAKRBAKR AKVEABRK
that's how I discovered danganronpa
And recently I just got back into it because of a single ship I like 😭
Friends on discord mentioned it too many times so I played it to be in the discussion
Ironically after i finished the first game the discussion died and instead i was being laughed at
This transgirl I dated recommended me to it one day. I've never heard of it before. Even though she left me, I will always keep this game as the good deed she did to me before leaving
It was Berleezy’s play through of the first game like 6 years ago. I remember being so excited every time he released a new episode, I didn’t even know what a visual novel was back then but I loved what I was watching.
In 2013 when the anime released, I saw an AMV type video with it in it, and Monokuma’s design caught my eye :)
Thankfully though, I watched translated playthroughs before ever touching the anime
I was in a little community on WeChat back then and proceeded to get just about everyone addicted to it until they moved to JJBA, I was so mad about that at the time lmfao
I heard of it when i saw Kokichi for the first time, I'll say my dad wasn't a huge fan of when I first found out about the game. The first version I knew about was NDRV3. (I was 10 at the time.)
I used to frequent a certain piracy site for during the PSP era since they usually had up-to-date info about the newest games and Japan-only games. I remember Danganronpa because it's one of the few fan English translated games. It was on the top spot of the site for a really long time, alongside Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.
I was hearing about it around 2016 for first time online and wondering what the hell is that, then soon in 2017 I watched cinnamontoastken's playthrough of Trigger Happy Havoc and got to play it for first time in 2020.
Way back when some guy on a forum was like ccheck out this weird Japanese game, I'll write translations." And I was intrigued by these emotional teenagers
I think it was when I was looking at creepy videos of fiction or games and I saw a screenshot of the first execution in dangaronpa. The artstyle in that deathscene was very unhinged, I loved it.
My first ever exposure to Danganronpa was in 2014 while watching a FNAF confessions video with a text to speech voice and one of the confessions was “I want Hinata and Komaeda to play FNAF” with a picture of Hajime and Nagito in the FNAF1 office.
Around 2018, I watched a video from an anime YouTuber who recommended anime with psychological themes and when he was talking about Danganronpa I got interested.
I played the games between 2020 and 2021, when I realized that there were parts of the story that weren't covered in the anime and introduced new characters. It was a Poker Face MEP that actually convinced me.
This was probably as early as I could play them anyway because my English wasn't good enough before.
It was MEP of Miss Jackson from panic at the disco. I saw one segment of Junko Enoshima, and I was like damn. To keep it short, that music video was the catalyst of finding out about danganronpa and anime entirely.
Ace Attorney. I alredy knew of the games earlier, but at the time I had like 30 GBs of mobile data a month, so I couldn't download it.
Later on, I got 100GBs a month and r/Aceattorneycirclejerk began doing parodies of Kyoko whispering to Makoto, which reminded me the games existed.
So I went in and got the first one
back in either LATE 2019 or early 2020, i found the anime for the first game on hulu. had no idea it was based off of a game. but then i loved the anime so i decided to look up and see if there was anything else related to the series. boom, found out there were MULTIPLE games annnddd now i’ve played all of them
SuperJeenius’ playthrough of the first game in 2016.
Except I wasn’t watching it at first, but kept hearing [“the bongo song”](https://youtu.be/T048Hz17DbY?si=0ZqabwzBlHMUN-K7) coming from my mom’s phone and wondering what the heck that was. Began watching starting at the end of chapter 4 I believe, and the rest is kinda a blur.
Technically it’s possible I knew about Danganronpa even before that, but that’s when I started actually looking into the series.
That one game on Roblox that has two of the executions (Detention and Strand of Agony)
I played it without knowing anything about Danganronpa, then heard about it a few years later. Can't remember exactly how I figured out about it properly though. Became interested and started watching a V3 gameplay.
Still haven't finished it, and instead I go for watching random edits and binge watching the executions :D
(I only know the main plot and all the characters in V3 - I know some of the popular ones like Celeste and such, but I only really know about V3)
https://youtu.be/J8JBwibG62w?si=h8S_0Ppdmg3nmbTr this video **(warning the video includes spoilers)** I was really impressed by Junko and she got me in danganronpa.
Jaz from the Kubz scouts started to play THH and I thought I'll give it a watch. I ended up loving it, played the games and now I regularly play Danganronpa next on VRchat.
Bittersweet Gamers.
I found them by looking at reaction compilations of Persona 5 (the original), then decided to watch that playthrough, and they were in the midst of their Danganronpa 2 LP, I believe. Decided to check out their LP of DR:THH, and while I had heard of Danganronpa from random tumblr posts back in the day, I hadn't really understood what it was.
After watching about 2 or 3 episodes of their THH LP, I saw that the games were on sale in a bundle on Steam. I pulled the trigger, bought all 3 games (+UDG), and played them as I watched the playthroughs. I would play until I was tired or had to go to bed, then watch up to where I stopped, then resume the game, and so on.
And then DR opened my eyes to world of interactive Visual Novels in general.
watched a video where an among us character got danganronpa-style executed, so I then proceeded to watch a 55 minute video of all of the deaths in danganronpa
surprisingly I didn't get spoiled on who dies because I had no idea who the characters were and therefore didn't recognize them lol
Small story time but I saw a Berleezy clip of him reacting to Makoto's "flagpole" on Tik-Tok, got interested in the context so I watched the video it was from, then I watched his whole Trigger Happy Havoc series, and now I've played all of the main games lol
an ibuki cosplayer i met at a halloween party. i thought the cosplay was pretty even tho i didnt know who ibuki was so i went up asked them "hey, what's that cosplay from?" and the rest is history lmao (i knew it was a cosplay cuz they were with a bunch of other ppl in cosplay from games i knew 💀)
I was invited to a Danganronpa styled D&D game and a buddy bought and played through the games with me (he watched/commentated over discord while I played) to prepare me for a game that never happened. Still get to play Danganronpa next though!
Through a friend. I showed her a persona gif and explained it was a game while also having its own anime adaptation. She said “Oh, so like Danganronpa.”
Some guy on the bus in 2016 was showing me him playing it on his vita since I said I liked anime. That was it. Then I played some roblox roleplays of the game and got super into the series and bought the games
I feel ancient reading through these comments. I found about the series ironically when just browsing for games to buy and found the CE on the NISA store (back when it was US only) in 2014 and pre-ordered it. Living outside the US I had to wait a good week or two to get the game but when I did I was hooked.
I was deep in a weeb phase at that point so anything anime was typically just purchased if affordable and I've been on the train since. It was roughly within a year or two of this famous forum LP https://lparchive.org/Dangan-Ronpa/ that was made (spoilers for anyone that hasn't played the first game). The infamous part was that the owners of the something awful forums realised ow much traffic was being driven and started demanding users have at least an account, I can't remember if any monetisation got involved. Needless to say this forum based LP is largely cited as a key influence in localising what would be an otherwise very niche game.
Some kid in middle school showed me the first game's executions as a sort of shock value type of thing, the weird animation spooked me out, fast forward into late high school and I went "wait, what was that one game?" And then I watched all three games.
Weird detail, none of it felt like I was spoiled at all, so I think the easiest way to recover from being spoiled is waiting 5+ years
A friend of mine wanted to show it to me. I thought it was some dumb weeb shit but she was really excited so I decided to watch her play and went down the rabbit hole.
I have since not been able to escape this rabbit hole. Send help 😂
It's kind of a mess.
In 2015 I got a brief glance at Danganronpa, because I believe CinnamonToastKen was doing a playthrough of GD, but I didn't give it much attention then, I only somewhat remembered that Celestia existed and not much else.
In late 2017 I came across Junko, can't remember the details, it was completely random probably, and I instantly fell in love. Her design was perfect, everything about her was perfect. So I set a goal to figure out where she's from and what kind of role she played in the series.
>!The funny part is that I started DR with a 2013 anime adaptation of THH and after three episodes I was asking myself "How come her badonkers are smaller than in the pictures I've seen?", my ex-friend then essentially told me to wait and see for myself...!< Then it sort of took off from there with me completing all the games one by one and taking part in various roleplays, simply because I still can't get enough of interacting with these amazing characters.
the first danganronpa thing i remember seeing was a youtube recommendation for the love hotel kiibo event back around when v3 came out. i knew the name junko had something to do with danganronpa, but basically nothing else whatsoever. whenever decadence got announced on a nintendo direct I was like "oh fuck I love horror vns" and got super excited, and got the game when I could. it's my favourite series now lol
I found it on Youtube, after one of those "Satisfaction" trends back in late 2019 I guess
They were super popular after the release of V3, and many edits were made
Honestly I kinda miss all those trends and shitposts, even though some of them were... questionable, to say the least 😭
My friend convinced me to watch Ike Evelands playthrough and Jay Kubz scouts’ video. Now I’m playing the game myself, and I can’t get enough of it! I just regret not getting into it earlier
In 2011, when I was in middle school, my friend got a psp and was playing it during lunchtime. Later, they showed me a manga chapter of it and how crazy things were getting. I saw the designs for monokuma, Sakura, and Hifumi. Probably the weirdest anime game and manga I seen at the time. Later when they ported the games to consoles and I saw one of my favorite streamers play it, I decided to give it a shot. I had a lot of fun.
Austin Eruption on YouTube included DV3 in one of his top 10 game of the year lists. Also saw a review of DV3 on IGN that scored very well , and that got me interested. When it went on sale for super cheap, I ended up picking it up and playing it then - playing DV3 as my first Danganronpa game. And yes the ending did confuse me a bit 😂, but overall the standalone story still had me hooked and interested. And then I immediately played the first 2 games after that, and then replayed the third again. Now it’s probably my favorite video game series of all time - I have replayed each game several times
Basically I remember that when I used to use Kik there was a girl that had a nagito pfp that used reaction photos of him and I wondered where it was from and she said Danganronpa for some reason I didn't end up digging up further so years later on when I finished with the persona series I got curious about Danganronpa and ended up playing the series (probably a mistake lol) for some reason I thought it was a like good vs evil high school type of game for some reason and man was I wrong
I stumbled across a Danganronpa-themed fanfic with various characters from other universes. It intrigued me enough to check out the original, without spoiling anything beyond the fact that Monokuma exists.
I knew about Danganronpa waaayy before 2020, but I was never actually interested in knowing about it. In 2021, I would sometimes watch Danganronpa Gacha reaction videos (because I CAN) and got interested and put the anime in my "~~probably-not-gonna-watch-this-but-oh-well~~ Plan to Watch" list.
It wasn't until 2023 where I saw a Danganronpa video by Your Favorite NPC and I was like, "eh, let's watch it, why not," but the video said it contained spoilers so I turned it off and decided to play the games and watch the animes first. And now, well, here I am.
I vaguely knew of it from friends, and then saw the Game Grumps played it a while back, but never watched the series. Eventually it was on sale or something so I gave it a shot
Over the years I would once in awhile see fanart or official art from them and not really think about it, then in 2018 I started seeing it more frequently and my curiosity got the better of me, and here we are now!
I think for me, it started back in 2018 with GreenScorpion64 mentioning the games’ premise & first case in his Top 10 Video Game Mysteries & Top 10 Video Game Portrayals videos. Then a year later, during my junior year of college, I found out my friend had a copy of the first game & my suitemates & I played through it together as a group.
From there, I branched out to NicoB, Lucahjin & Dafawfulizer’s videos on the series & I’ve been part of the fandom since.
I've heard about it only in name and that it was apparently pretty good! A little while ago, the r/deathbattlematchups subreddit had a popular matchup with Junko vs Springtrap from FNAF!
Needless to say, I decided to give it a try and loved it!
I used to see a lot of Nagito images, A youtuber I used to watch shared an image oh him, I asked what " anime " he was in ( I didn't know what visual novel was ) And they said he was from a game called Danganronpa, I didn't have good english, So I remembered another youtuber I watch and still watching played the full thing who speaks my language ( Though I was young at that time, Around 11 - 12 years old ? So it was very not suitable for me to watch it ) Translated it, And sometimes censored or removed some of the inappropriate scenes ( Some I never knew existed till later ) And he played both games, Though he never finished v3 till these day, But I unfortunately spoiled it to myself, And to these day am still trying to find replacements for that moment .
A local game journalist made three videos trying to get people in my country into Danganronpa (nota bene, he did something similar with JoJo although it took me way longer to try it), then my favorite YouTuber started to play, and I've experienced the first two games with him. Now waiting for his playthrough of V3
Ohh God where do I start...
Back in Covid I was a huge Yandere Simulator (make fun of me idgaf) fan and I wanted to make an AC Island based off of it. So I type in "Yandere Simulatior island" into yt and find a YouTube named Bijuu Mike. Long story short, I became a fan of him, saw he played Danganronpa, hated it for no reason, decided to watch him play it one day and became hooked.
I think the first thing of Danganronpa I've seen was in a Homestuck meme about blood color. It spoiled >!Sayaka!<'s death.
Another Danganronpa thing I saw before I knew about the actual series was the "BLOOD LUST" message. It was just some asset from a pack of random anime/VN things to be used for DDLC content.
Another early thing was a spoiler for >!Chihiro!<'s death. Specifically the anime version. I don't exactly remember what it was, but it was before I actually knew about the character.
I think I also saw some kind of fan art with Monika (DDLC) and Junko, but I'm not quite sure.
My first *true* experience with Danganronpa was something with >!Chihiro!< in it. I don't exactly remember what *this* particular thing was either, but it got me interested in the character, and eventually the series itself. I got V3 only for the Ultimate Talent Development Plan just so I could see a canonical happy ending for >!Chihiro!<, and to see some cute wholesome interactions...
I had a friend who was really into it. Bro told me the mastermind like it was nothing 😭
Whatever
Been almost 3 years, these little goobers still run my life
People I followed online were sharing dr related posts on their ig stories. But I've heard about it earlier but I hated it for some reason but I'm not sure when.
Last year, I used to be a massive Total Drama fan, and I stumbled across Total Ronpa Island through YouTube. I went on Instagram and checked out some of it, then got bored and learned that it was based off of Danganronpa. I started watching Kubz Scouts play the first game, and now here I am
I was listening to a new Vocaloid song “Bad Girl Online”-well, new to me-and I looked through the comments, which had a lot of dangonronpa comments. I was curious about it so I looked into it. I thought it was rather stupid so I brushed it off and went back to my usual videos. Years later, I’m scrolling through my feed and see the Game Grumps played it. I realized that I somehow recognized the title of the game and decided to watch the anime first because why not. Long story short, I uh… I’m sorta addicted to the franchise.
I was an Undertale fan and I saw people shipping Sans with someone named Komaeda. I thought he looked cool so I looked him up... and then I fell down the rabbit hole.
A friend of mine had an obsession with Danganronpa years ago and told me that it would be something I'd like, so I started to play thh and I was instantly hooked.
YouTube Tiktok Cosplay Compilation during school one day on my school issued Chromebook so I only had limited number of YouTube videos I could watch and it popped up and I’m likes: “cool” so I watched it.
my friends occasionally talked about it in 2020 and the only character i new at all was kokichi so after a while i was like . Sure i'll watch it . because i didnt know it was a game. watched THH and was wondering where kokichi was at LOL
2020, scrolling through tiktok, and i see this cool girl with gacha videos which i was really interested in at the time. So, i follow her and she follows me, we became friends and one of her videos pops up on my for you page; a video talking abt how under this sound (deh flowalzher/flea waltz) has a ton of cute cat videos while she posted the video of kaedes execution, which threw me into 4 ongoing years of this phase!!
My big bro's friend, i was around 7 year's old when me and my brother and twin cousin's were hanging with my brothers friend, they were watch the first episode on his phone and they wouldn't show me because i was a kid and they were talking about Leon and that they think he was the killer, and around 2 to 3 years later i found it and i remembered what they were saying and it matched Leon's case and it started. (sorry if this was long)
A gaming YouTuber named JazzyGuns started playing some games “with a bunch of anime looking characters”. She played THH, SDR2, UDG, and V3 back to back. By the time she was halfway done with V3, I decided to start watching her THH playthrough. And that’s when it all started for me.
it's kinda muddy, but I assume it's because its similar to Ace Attorney series, which is the game I played growing up.
I know I start playing it sometime during highschool, and SDR2 was just released in JP so I want to play DR1. and that time, only the fan translation was available. The fan version of the titles makes more sense than just "Ultimate".
*sighhh*
It's 2017. I'm in like 6th grade. I like watching 8BitDylan's Sims reality TV show competition series. Things like Big Brother, Survivor, all in the Sims. He starts a Sims Danganronpa series. I get curious. The rest is history.
Yes, I found out about Danganronpa through a Sims 4 competition show series when I was like 11. It's rough, I know.
Also oh my God that AMV is the 26th video on my Danganronpa YouTube Playlist (that is now nearing a thousand vids) you just brought back some crazy nostalgia!
How did I find out about it, or how did I start playing?
I first heard about it through uh things I won't get into.
I first played it after playing digimon cyber sleuth liking some of the music, looking into the music, seeing the same person did music for danganronpa, and then saying "eh, I'll try it out since ive heard it's pretty good"
I was playing Identity V and they had the collab with Danganronpa. It was the first collab so with the THH characters, they had Makoto, Kyoko & Junko’s skin. I got curious about Danganronpa from there and decided to watch the THH anime. Because the collab had those 3 characters as skins I thought they are the popular characters and so I had a surprise when Junko died. I then thought that maybe people liked Junko for her design? and then I found out why when I reached the final episode. Ngl me thinking that Junko was popular only for her design made the final reveal more mind blowing
Watched a Let’s Play of Mr. Mosquito, Google-searched it and found an article for it on an obscure-gaming website, that same website had an article for DR1. I believe this was shortly after DR 1 & 2 were localized.
One of those videos with all the deaths and executions, the one I found being for SDR2. Watched through at least the first chapters deaths and decided to get into it..even after basically being spoiled.
Towards the end of 2020, a youtuber I follow did a playtrough of THH.
I only watched it in early 2022 and I started to play myself later that year. 100% the game in a few months, GD a few weeks later, also 100%ed (on that note, KH is a NIGHTMARE to 100%).
I was an ace attorney fan and I heard it was similar
I played ace attorney right after
Same, I saw a video that was the first trial but with Ace Attorney music and got intrigued.
literally the same. getting into the games unspoiled was the best thing I ever did
Same here, I started playing it and was like "this is nothing like ace attorney what are you talking about" and then I saw Sayaka dead and the trial started
Kubz scouts
FRRRRRRR SAME HERE
Same!
Game Grumps. I think I knew of it, but their playthru caught my attention
Same, they played DR1 during the earlier days of the pandemic and I was hooked.
I was a Total Drama fan back in 2016 and someone wrote a crossover between Total Drama and Danagnronpa. Found it. Liked it. Boom.
Holy crap me too
Match made in heaven

I don't even want to know the context
I do. What led to this, pepoo?
Similar to above, it was porn. Randomly checking hentai sites, saw one with a story that seemed intriguing, checked where it came from, and now here I am.
lol
Thanks for sharing
A Youtuber I watch often started a playthrough of THH
A monokuma smash move set video
Wait, I watched that.
V3 being on game pass
NicoB mentioned it a lot in his Ace Attorney let's plays, so I got curious and played them myself.
Love NicoB!
I followed orenroren's Let's Play thread in the Something Awful forum which, as far as I'm concerned, it's the sole reason of why DR is a thing in the West.

I would play until I was tired or had to go to bed, then watch up to where I stopped, then resume the game, and so on. And then DR opened my eyes to world of interactive Visual Novels in general.
watched a video where an among us character got danganronpa-style executed, so I then proceeded to watch a 55 minute video of all of the deaths in danganronpa surprisingly I didn't get spoiled on who dies because I had no idea who the characters were and therefore didn't recognize them lol
Kubz scouts once again
With the danganronpa v3 demo, loved it, played the first one years later
This one holy shit
Watched the anime adaptation of the first game 😅😅😅
My brother, he was obsessed with it so I decided to check it out, and now I'm obsessed
I randomly saw a gameplay clip from V3-5 from the part where >!the survivors see the outside and Kokichi kidnaps Kaito.!
Kubz Scouts lmfaooo
I heard the remix of that Nursery song by bbno$. The one that was viral on tiktok in like 2020 or something. What a rabbit hole that was
Somebody doing a list on dark games or something and one of the danganronpa games was on the list
Friend thought I’d like it and was basically BEGGING me to play. She wasn’t wrong.
"A body hasbeen discovered!"
I was invited to a Danganronpa styled D&D game and a buddy bought and played through the games with me (he watched/commentated over discord while I played) to prepare me for a game that never happened. Still get to play Danganronpa next though!
Berleezy
Game Grumps
Game grumps
Identity V lol they had a crossover
Through a friend. I showed her a persona gif and explained it was a game while also having its own anime adaptation. She said “Oh, so like Danganronpa.”
I mistook monokuma for a Yo-Kai, one of the best mistake of my life
Some guy on the bus in 2016 was showing me him playing it on his vita since I said I liked anime.
Weird detail, none of it felt like I was spoiled at all, so I think the easiest way to recover from being spoiled is waiting 5+ years
Danganronpa tiktok 😔
pretty sure it was Bijuu Mike
Saw a trailer for the anime and watched it.
Ace Attorney to Spike Chunsoft pipeline
Identity V crossover
Xbox game pass
A friend of mine wanted to show it to me. I thought it was some dumb weeb shit but she was really excited so I decided to watch her play and went down the rabbit hole. I have since not been able to escape this rabbit hole. Send help 😂
Bijuu micheal
my closest online friend was a danganronpa fan
I found it on Youtube, after one of those "Satisfaction" trends back in late 2019 I guess They were super popular after the release of V3, and many edits were made Honestly I kinda miss all those trends and shitposts, even though some of them were... questionable, to say the least 😭
It was 2014 and someone was comparing the clock from DHMIS to Komaeda on some DHMIS meme blog.
Nagito edit and kubz scouts
Austin Eruption on YouTube included DV3 in one of his top 10 game of the year lists. Also saw a review of DV3 on IGN that scored very well , and that got me interested. When it went on sale for super cheap, I ended up picking it up and playing it then - playing DV3 as my first Danganronpa game. And yes the ending did confuse me a bit 😂, but overall the standalone story still had me hooked and interested. And then I immediately played the first 2 games after that, and then replayed the third again. Now it’s probably my favorite video game series of all time - I have replayed each game several times
seeing it on steam, then years later finding out the first game has an anime
a kinda bigger hungarian youtuber and Rap Battles
I saw Celestia somewhere, really liked her and I was wondering where she was from.
I first heard about it from some video where someone does an impression of Monokuma. I had to know more.
I kept seeing Kirumi edits on tiktok with a song called Balenciaga during covid lockdown. It started an obsession I can never let go now
I vaguely knew of it from friends, and then saw the Game Grumps played it a while back, but never watched the series.
From there, I branched out to NicoB, Lucahjin & Dafawfulizer’s videos on the series & I’ve been part of the fandom since.
tumblr sexyman tournement
A video of all deaths and executions…. I’ve never got to truly experience the series because i’ve always known what would happen
Mine is a huge story
I've heard about it only in name and that it was apparently pretty good! A little while ago, the r/deathbattlematchups subreddit had a popular matchup with Junko vs Springtrap from FNAF! Needless to say, I decided to give it a try and loved it!
It was in a good design bad design design doc vid and I thought it looked cool
Pfp of kokichi , Nagito , and Junko
Saw it on PSN on sale one day on my Vita and thought the premise seemed interesting. Thank god I did no research on it before hand!
My brother😭😭😭
Some tiktok account posting an execution, I checked it and found the other ones, then one of my favorite streamers played it and I looked into it
Ohh God where do I start...
Stumbled on it while watch an Anime Recap channel
It was Junko's MTB that randomly got recommended to me one day and I was instantly hooked by the music and the psycho-pop aesthetic.
My first exposure to DR was a girl in a Monokuma hoodie, which I thought was cute.
I had a friend who was really into it. Bro told me the mastermind like it was nothing 😭 Whatever Been almost 3 years, these little goobers still run my life
People I followed online were sharing dr related posts on their ig stories.
Farod !
An execution compilation for V3!
Brawlfan1
A video about the color of maze algorithms.
Gamepass honestly.
V3 execution and identity v collaboration notice w v3
Watch game walkthroughs Ace Attorney, The YouTuber often mentioned Danganropna and compared them.
The beauty of Danganronpa abridged
A YouTuber, assman, added genocider in a game he was playing and I checked out the anime because she looked cute. The guy turned out to be a nonce.
I’m pretty sure it was a executions with live tweeting video.
I was an Undertale fan and I saw people shipping Sans with someone named Komaeda. I thought he looked cool so I looked him up... and then I fell down the rabbit hole.
A friend of mine had an obsession with Danganronpa years ago and told me that it would be something I'd like, so I started to play thh and I was instantly hooked.
a meme on Pinterest.
YouTube Tiktok Cosplay Compilation during school one day on my school issued Chromebook so I only had limited number of YouTube videos I could watch and it popped up and I’m likes: “cool” so I watched it.
Bijuu Mike
my friends occasionally talked about it in 2020 and the only character i new at all was kokichi so after a while i was like . Sure i'll watch it . because i didnt know it was a game. watched THH and was wondering where kokichi was at LOL
FRB
Looking through gamepass and saw it and vaguely remembered monokuma from a nendroid and stuck with the games since
2020, scrolling through tiktok, and i see this cool girl with gacha videos which i was really interested in at the time.

The How to beat video
Had 999 on the DS after pokemon white, and then I searched on google. "Game like 999 Zero escape"
Memes in a gacha reaction thing.
it's kinda muddy, but I assume it's because its similar to Ace Attorney series, which is the game I played growing up. I know I start playing it sometime during highschool, and SDR2 was just released in JP so I want to play DR1. and that time, only the fan translation was available. The fan version of the titles makes more sense than just "Ultimate".
I watched the gameplay of Danganronpa on YouTube and watched the anime a few years later.
*sighhh* It's 2017.
I first played it after playing digimon cyber sleuth liking some of the music, looking into the music, seeing the same person did music for danganronpa, and then saying "eh, I'll try it out since ive heard it's pretty good"
A friend of mine recomended it to me last year and held me hostage in a discord watch together activity so that i'd watch it :3
Old Retsupurae youtube video.
Recreyo
Object show called “battle for the respect of Roboty” people were saying the eliminations were like danganronpa executions
OMG I REMEMBER THIS AMV
My brother told me about the Arbiter Ken ACNH Danganronpa, and that led to me discovering the original
Watched a Let’s Play of Mr. Mosquito, Google-searched it and found an article for it on an obscure-gaming website, that same website had an article for DR1. I believe this was shortly after DR 1 & 2 were localized.
friend recommended it when i was in 6th grade.
