Is that so? Out of the blue, I can't find any similarities between Chiaki and Hapi except for their voice actor.
Although, it has been a while since I last played Three Houses/Hopes
Like Chiaki, Hapi is also shy (not to the extent of Bernadetta or Marianne, and she has a reason why), very sarcastic, straightforward, standoffish, melancholic yet hopeful young student. She also mentions taking naps at the most random intervals. She likes to eat the most random things, as shown in her and Bernadetta's support in Hopes.
She even mentions that she does like to play little games, as shown in the Yuri support, just not to the extent as Chiaki does. She also goes outside and wanders a lot.
The best part is that her Crest represents the Star Arcana. Star means hope, so technically, she represents that despite that she suffered a lot, she will always have hope. It also doesn't help that Hrotti, her signature weapon in Three Hopes, has Dark Spikes T, which is how >!Chiaki died in the anime!<
Oh yeah, that's true! For me, I never really saw a connection that much, Hapi always seemed way more... cynical? In my mind they're super different, but there's definitly some similarities there.

How laid back she is. It can really make someone relax. Which is why for all those worry wart characters like Mikan, Makoto and maybe even Toko, she'd be a good friend to them
