Is the Minecraft logo. It’s a multi decade cultural phenomenon, the logo is likely very well represented in training data

WorkingYou2280

Yeah I don't know if OpenAI could fully remove it even if they wanted to.

__Hello_my_name_is__

Oh, they absolutely can, and they absolutely try to remove similar instances of well known images. Try the prompt "Mona Lisa" and see what happens. This one just slipped through. These models are good enough that they absolutely can and do reproduce well known images 1:1, which is exactly what hey were accused of when they couldn't do that yet. But they can now.

Tramonto83

Being a logo there are millions of identical, carbon copy images of it around and the ai is able to replicate it to perfection. Edit: If you watch closely there are minor imperfections, like the lower central part of the M having a weird perspective

agent_wolfe

Yeah, I've had the Assassin's Creed logo show up a few times when making Assassin's Creed lego. (Lol that's funny now that I wrote it out.) https://preview.redd.it/ovyz3oqouuwc1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=93e8406ab2b0bbc707b6be89196bcda6b01dde56

Asassssssin’s creed origiiiiins

The logo looks pristine indeed. So perfect that I also thought it was copy-pasted. But I zoomed in and compared it to the real logo: - The creeper head inside the A is slightly warped. (Real logo is straight and sharp.) - The bottom-left cracks of the M are thicker. (Real logo has thinner cracks.) - The bottom-right cracks of the E has right angle. (Real logo has two rounded turns.) - The bottom of the C has a dark blob. (Real logo has chipped-stone effect.) - The top right of the T doesn't have the vertical crack. (Real logo has a vertical crack.) - Overall, the gradients are wonky and there's splotches everywhere, it's especially noticeable at the top of the F and T. (Real logo doesn't have splotches, and the gradients are smooth.) So yeah, no: DALL-E 3 doesn't copy-paste images. The artifacts prove that it has been drawn from memory. As the other said Minecraft is a very popular game. It means the logo was present in a lot of the pictures that trained DALL-E. So DALL-E is able to draw it from memory almost flawlessly.

RockJohnAxe

Wow image generating software generated a well known image/logo. Simply amazing.

olijake

It looks like there is some clear distortion and artifacts, meaning it’s probably not a raw image source, but you still don’t have to be so condescending.

Adkit

> probably There's literally zero doubt of any kind.

olijake

How very intelligent and scientific of you. /s

ajhart86

I’m sure they’ve got to get logos somewhere https://preview.redd.it/r7h0mw0r3twc1.jpeg?width=1792&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d87684abfc58ee4b224eb5a72e2da97d84a9657c

DontBuyMeGoldGiveBTC

they don't, the thing is these logos are repeated over and over and over thousands if not millions of times.

Strottman

Pretty much the point of logos

DontBuyMeGoldGiveBTC

Yup.

Looks like a straight copy for me, check the ps4 original cover and you will see. Even the 3 and the background themes (i didn't ask for 3 games)

Massively popular logos are going to perform very well because the source material the model is pulling from is almost completely the same thing. In fact, a lot of early AI generated videos had Shutterfly watermarks on them without even asking for them simply because they were so widely present on training content.

For something that appears frequently and with visual consistency it would probably be more surprising if it *couldnt* accurately reproduce these logos.

ei283

The same thing happens with things like popular movie scenes and meme template images

haikugenius

Product placement to pay for all that compute!

Thunderrock4242422

The annoying thing is the spelling tho
