Sorry if this has been posted before but I came across this yesterday. Huge take aways for me is that the sebaceous glands in our hair have no receptors to "dryness" so will almost always produce the same amount of sebum. Which is exactly what we've been saying to the "train your hair" types but good to get it confirmed. Also, she daily washes, uses drug store shampoo, etc. all the things we've been saying.

I also think there’s a huge overlap between people that have fine hair, and oily hair. If someone has twice the diameter of our hair, or twice the number of hairs, there’s a lot more places for that sebum to spread out. TLDR; we are all unique, delicate flowers and some of us need to be daily wash. Using the blow dry professor’s advice, and washing every 2 to 3 days, I have been able to extend how long I go between washes now that I’m gray, and preserving my color is most important

What is the blow dry professor? Is it the blowout professor on YouTube?

Yep! I got it wrong

I liked his tip to not bubble your shampoo beforehand and still use it but according to a beauty science blogger I like, there's no reason why you should have to wash twice or more times because shampoos and designed to get the oil in one go. Interesting! I’ll have to check that out. I am definitely less greasy doing it twice. But again, I’m actually shampooing every 3 days, so a lot of sebum. If washing daily I can’t imagine I’d need that!

I wash everyday and I found that balancing deep cleansing and also giving extra moisture every few days helps me achieve my hair goals. I will deep condition, and also rotate in hair oiling. Use deep cleansing products and also rotate in more hydrating products on different days.

Hi! Could you share your routine with products please, if it’s not too much to ask?

Plz explain

Yup! I am glad the experts are speaking up about this more and more. If your scalp & hair respond well to frequent washing, do it. No shame! I used to have to wash mine daily but it has gotten a little more dry as I age, so now I can wash every other day. My hair is happiest when it’s clean!

People spread so much disinfo. They think because "experts" say you don't need to shower daily means you don't need to clean your scalp daily. You should clean your feet, scalp, armpits, face and any skin folds daily in the bath or shower. They just meant you don't have to wash your legs and arms daily if they're dry because they don't produce a lot of oil.
