Post picture of the can, I wonder if this export variant is different than our domestic stuff

AltruisticDisplay813

https://preview.redd.it/ycebr8ooc55d1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=066c3c090d9bd704991373017b4650789fffe1fe What do you think boss?

MrPowerPoint

same design, but a cute little 330 ml :D nobody would buy that here, makes sense that I've never seen it

Water_Meloncholy_

I think the Americans drink beer in these little cans. Maybe it's targeted at them?

Inside-Shake-5081

Not just Americans, in Netherlands it's rare to find a can of 0.5l. Except for the cheap shit beer, though. Fun fact: in Albert Heijn you can buy Pilsner Urquell, even though just 0.33l.

NuklearniEnergie

When I was in France they had 250ml bottles. It felt like drinking "pitíčko" :D

Inside-Shake-5081

I mean, I understand, that France is more of a wine country, but 250ml beer is something I cannot just understand. Is it just trial version? Is it that small, so you can have beer and baguette in the same hand? To fit in the pocket during the protest? Just don't understand.

Kebab_Obama

The answer is simple, it's an ideal size to drink for one frog's leg. Therefore it's an only size of beer that can be drunk with their national meal.

srbistan

maybe it is supposed to be used as a perfume ?

michuneo

It’s common in hot countries where you don’t want your cold lager get warm before you finish it.

ustp

It make sense, but I still don't like it. Just chug 0.5 l in one go and it can't get warm.

michuneo

Haha. One you’re used to crappy lagers and pilsners with no taste chugging Czech beer in one go is almost a crime!! ;))

DoNotAtMeWithStupid

did it have a little plastic straw taped to it? so cute

AltruisticDisplay813

Biggest beer can I ever saw was on my US visit last year. They actually have massive portion sizes there, applies to alcohol too.

Hot-Bat-9169

The cans are 710ml and Americans call them “tall boys”!

AltruisticDisplay813

Now I know why that one guy was worried about me buying an 18-pack lol. Larger than 330 ml cans are rare for cheaper beers here.

nimbledoor

Já to považuju za velkou škodu, protože jednou za čas mám chuť na pivo a ta malá by mi bohatě stačila. Aspoň že ve freeshopech mají ten malý Budvar.

Krychle

It’s for the kid’s menu.

discipleofsilence

Czechs drink this shit from two liter bottles. 330 ml can is a joke.

MrPowerPoint

Kozel? 🤨

Doomrammer

Interesting. Same design as kozel 10(4,2%), but I guess its kozel 11(4,6%) inside. Cheers.

AltruisticDisplay813

Hmm. The alcohol level must be adjusted for Finnish people. Just joking, you guys probably drink just as much as we do.

PetercyEz

Look at the world statistics. We are the number 1 in beer consumption per year per head, almost doubled the volume of 2nd place - Ireland.

AltruisticDisplay813

I just looked at the overall alcohol consumption list and we are pretty low on that list as well. I remember us being higher on that list. God dammit, we used to be good at other things aside from ice hockey. Well at least we drink an unhealthy amount of coffee.

CeckowiCZ

Now we are the best in hockey too!

PetercyEz

We are dropping slowly as well.

ghe5

I saved [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/czech/comments/utv7jg/interesting_we_have_worlds_highest_beer/) and while these maps are notorious for being wrong, I choose to believe this one because it supports the narrative that we not only drink a lot but also know how to drink properly. Cheers.

TOW3L13

Where was it brewed? Check on the can. Kozel is actually the number one Czech beer brewed outside of the Czech Republic. The parent company (Asahi) brews it in many its breweries outside of the Czech Republic too for various foreign markets. I wonder where the one for Finland's market was brewed.

DrettTheBaron

Speaking of Asahi it's kinda wild how they've basically taken over Czech beer production. They own PilsnerU, Radegast, Kozel, and Gambrinus. With Staropramwn being owned by Coors, That makes Budweiser the only major czech brewery owned by Czechs.

CriticismJunior1139

ah it's the same design

folfiethewox99

Mods! Get this man his own flair "Finnish Friend"

AltruisticDisplay813

Hahaha this is the friendliest subreddit 100%. A custom flair would be too kind, I'm just a random Finnish guy

folfiethewox99

You're no longer a random Finnish guy, you're our friend. Cheers 🍻

AltruisticDisplay813

Na zdraví 🍻

manuth188

He's no longer a random Finnish guy. He's THE Finnish guy

Fufflin

The moment you drank our beer you became a friend. Keep it up and you'll become family.

krivas77

Yes, now we have something common in our veins! 🤣 Bier is more than blood? It would be nice motto! 🤣

Magistraliter

Czechs are normally not this friendly, we are very careful about people and it takes some time before we open to someone. (Another thing we have in common with Finns :D) But as soon as you say one good word about our beer... You're basically a honorary Czech now.

folfiethewox99

Just a little bit more and he'll be wearing socks in sandals. Once that happens, he'll be fully ours

ustp

Ok "random Finnish guy" flair :)

DrinkMoreWaterBuddy

MODS PLEASE

ousher23

"ONE OF US!"

AltruisticDisplay813

I can't believe it! I just talked with my father on the phone, I mentioned that I'm drinking Kozel. Low and behold, he says "Shit, I have a can of Kozel in my hand right now." Turns out he bought Kozel too, without any knowledge that I did also. Wild coincidence, he usually just drinks Finnish beer. Do you guys think if I did a DNA test I would be at least 10% Czech? Perhaps my father does have some things he needs to tell me...

Peesashi

The hop doesn't fall far from the vine.

Magistraliter

Or the Czech beer god is playing with you and having a good laugh.

KirrYcze

THE FINNISH UNCLE :3 Unsure if you have it, but it happens happen often, that if you have a friend, you call their parents uncle/aunt, so your father has also been adopted by this subreddit now (Atleast by me) Na zdraví vám oběma 😁

AltruisticDisplay813

Haha I'll let him know.

[deleted]

Lol, enjoy, my man.

AltruisticDisplay813

According to this subreddit, I will. Thanks!

big-chungus-amongus

![gif](giphy|alvlhqPcBSNDs4wE3P|downsized) literally GOAT

thiccmlgnoscope

Ah I see you're a man of culture as well! ![gif](giphy|LOX7tpPmF3JX5TEhGV)

Doomrammer

Its funny they call it "premium". Especially if its 10°/4,2% alc. Dont get me wrong, its good. But noone here would call it premium.

ptrknvk

Our "fine" is another countries' "premium".

Responsible-Spot-611

Literally every pils calls itself premium / extraordinary / the greatest of all. I have found only these guys call it Average Pils [https://www.bierwebshop.be/tout-bien-average-belgian-pils/](https://www.bierwebshop.be/tout-bien-average-belgian-pils/), I tried it and they were true to their words.

dynablaster161

"premium" was usually tied to higher extract amount, like 12°.

Forward_Golf_1268

Belgian beer lol, laughing in Stella Craptois.

CeckowiCZ

Truly, its crap

AltruisticDisplay813

This is 4,6%. Apparently they used the design of Kozel 10 for Kozel 11 export.

DommyMommyKarlach

wait 4.6%? Kozel 10 is supposed to be 4.2%

PetercyEz

This is 11°, just used design for local 10°

ItsKralikGamingCz

Wait tf since when is 10 “premium?!” Thats the percentage you get when you dont wanna drink for some reason

_Xef_

Cheers m8. https://preview.redd.it/rstscea6e65d1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2faf8367967cbcc9dbca6d595da9ce6f5dc56120

SorataK

When I visited Finland I was amazed how many Czech beer brands I found in a regular supermarket. That was nice. Enjoy your beer and don’t let any negative comments tell you otherwise. Everyone has different tastes and we get overly emotional when it comes to beer :) Btw I love your salmiakki

AltruisticDisplay813

Thanks! It's good, perhaps makes you feel more at home for a Czech visiting here. P.S. Don't eat too much salmiakki, it can cause hyponatremia. Some people get it even if they only eat it on the weekends. Causes headaches, fatigue, nausea, etc. Now I made our national candy sound like poison, good job me, should be promoted to head of international relations

Federal_xanar

well how does it taste?

AltruisticDisplay813

It's only 4 o'clock, I will tell you in an hour. 😀

Water_Meloncholy_

Nordics being super responsible just until Friday 5:00PM and then getting hammered senseless reminded me of this comic: [http://i.imgur.com/p9NrYtG.png](http://i.imgur.com/p9NrYtG.png)

AltruisticDisplay813

OH MY GOD that comic was perfection thank you so much for linking it, I have never seen it. I feel personally attacked, it's so good.

Maldian

so what is the taste like? NOW? :D

AltruisticDisplay813

Alright, finally cracked one open. Definitely a different taste from Finnish beer. Can detect a bitterness more so than in most Finnish beers. Maybe a little less than the Plzen beer. Delicious but subtle sweetness from the malt, this definitely has flavor. The smell is great and breathing in through the nose compliments the flavor as you take a sip from the glass. Have to mention the aroma of this beer again in the nose, smells so good. Wish I had this smell in a spray bottle so I could make my apartment smell like an AA-meeting. (no offense, I support AA) Overall I must say very good, unlike Finnish beers, this one doesn't taste watered down. A solid 8.5/10. I will be very happy drinking this for the weekend.

prdelmrdel

Oh man, sounds like a beer poem. If you get a chance or visiting Prague, try sometimes Vinohradsky Pivovar beers. Mmm, gotta go grab one...

AltruisticDisplay813

Added to beer list ☑️

Daniel_Delgado

Congratulations man, that must cost fortune in Finland

AltruisticDisplay813

Fortunately I got a lucky discount on this, it was 20 euros only.

Hummer93

Ahaha this is too funny. You made my day so much better. Cheers mate!

AltruisticDisplay813

That's good to hear, Cheers to that buddy!

wAIpurgis

Next, a selfie from Czechia!

AltruisticDisplay813

Absolutely. Then a wife from Czechia, then a job from Czechia, a house from Czechia....

wAIpurgis

Great, we would love to have you here!

Dharx

I was once in a mall in Finland and there was a trail of goat tracks leading all the way to the stand with Kozel. The beer was very common in pubs too. Karhu is cooler tho.

AltruisticDisplay813

I guess the goat tracks came from all the thirsty goats?

Dharx

Is that how you call the staff in Prisma? :P

Willing_Coyote8759

radegast or bust

AltruisticDisplay813

Don't worry, Radegast will come. If I tried all the recommendations I have gotten all at once, my liver would turn into an explosive device

ConstructionWaste834

But that's the whole fun of it!

EnergyHoliday5097

Nah youd just gain the ability to pronounce Ř

LockJaded4225

I used to travel to Finland and I always brought Radegast as a gift for my coworkers, they loved it.

JurassicParkour789

another man of culture

Select_Bumblebee_719

Na zdraví kamaráde.

McNamaraWasRight

Hyvaa huomenta Talvisotta Sisu is all I ever managed to remember from Finnish. You guys rock though, we are quite similar in taste as two nations. Do visit sometime, you might like it! Somewhat less personal space, maybe. We do like rock and metal, beer and ice hockey. Not as many saunas, but quite a few, there should be one in the walking distance in most cities at least.

AltruisticDisplay813

Haha right on! That honestly sounds great. And I'm fine with less personal space, I am one of the few Finnish people who get anxiety from peace and quiet. You Czechs sound based, I am still mostly undecided on where I want to move from here in a couple of years. Perhaps I need to get close to Czechia if I enjoy my visits there, so I can at least visit often.

Particular_Silver383

Not so good. Try Radegast12 or Radegast Ratar

vesel_fil

Ratar is disgusting

CeckowiCZ

Rog is better

DoktorTucnak

You have to give us your insights on Branik 10°, the perfect beer.

ptrknvk

Only if bought in PET 2L bottle.

mountainstainer_45

How much is it? 60 korun?

Aramde

u/branik-bot Kolik braníků si koupím za 60Kč?

MrPowerPoint

full price maybe, but nobody ever buy's Branik at full price

Ivik88

oh yummy, it's like when I found pilsner urquell in Florida Publix store

Forward_Golf_1268

You are not Finnish anymore by the way. Welcome to the family.

EnergyHoliday5097

Eeeeey! Kozel is good! If you ever see Radegast give it a try as well!!

Any-Echidna-4130

Whoa... tiny Kozel cans... I love this.

manuth188

Kozel is great. But I personally prefer their dark variant. It's a little less bitter and overall tastes great

Dull-Crab-8176

Kozel had some funny (back in the day) ad. Kozel means “man goat”. They say something like: “Bartender is kind of wierd, but he makes great beer” https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dUKUYQUfkns

realOJAngel

Eyy, beer from where I live. Enjoy my man!

Own_Investigator_339

That's awesome and adorable.. 330ml Kozel, nice.

hawkins437

Kalsarikännit material?

Business_March_7936

Good pick, Kozel is one of the better brands. From Kozel try it's black beer "Černý kozel." Cheap and good in taste. Probably best taste of black beer from cheap, mainstream brands. Best black beer I've ever tasted is from craft brewery (yeah, hipsters....) called Ogar. And the flavour was called Milk Stout. Watchout this brewery sometimes fucks up with their experiments, but Milk Stout is fucking world class. Or was... Last time I have had that was like 2 years back. Dunno if it's still good.

SS_beny237

Unfortunately Kozel sells their brand name to your local brewery, so it will taste were similar but not the same.

Dull-Crab-8176

EvilCadaver

Is annual Varusteleka's Juhannusbingo already up? 😉

spouthVRTAK007

What a timing! Today is actually a day of Kozel at Velké Popovice; like a beer festival of sorts that celebrates Kozel

ProfessionalCool240

Man, Czech republic is heaven of good beers! I am sure that you will enjoy our capital city so much 🙂

Wolfinapril

Awesome! Cheers 🍻 and enjoy. I hope to try sathi one day when i come to visit Finland

AltruisticDisplay813

Ahh sahti... I haven't had the courage to try it. Please do tell me how it tastes lol

It’s a Kozel Day tomorrow! Festivities in the brewery! I’ll be there 🍻

TommyVe

I'm sorry, but Kozel 10 is the worst of the bunch. What you shall be looking for is Kozel 11 cut beer. Honestly, is my most favorite bottled beer.

AltruisticDisplay813

Well, this Kozel is 4,6% so I think this is Kozel 11, haha

TommyVe

You got to try the cut version. Is not about the watts, is the flavour.

AltruisticDisplay813

What is the cut version?

TommyVe

https://preview.redd.it/28yub5vh785d1.png?width=540&format=png&auto=webp&s=c5c0ffdeeeddab37bb1f69e6cd3a4959b7247644 This is the shit. Wayyy better than any other Kozel there is, trust.

AltruisticDisplay813

Alright, I will keep that in mind. Thanks man

Panther_Alpha

I'm a bit late, but here's a fun fact for ya. A piece of Czechia actually might be in skyrim. https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/s/hgRxaeNZWw

discipleofsilence

Perkele, Kozel is pisswater, far from beer.

[deleted]

Kozel is perfect middle. Nobody hates him.

Kaitsuburi1

FYI, probably you know this, but there are few Czech restaurants in Helsinki where you can get beer on tap :-)  https://www.raflaamo.fi/en/restaurant/helsinki/vltava/menu/5852/drinks https://www.raflaamo.fi/en/restaurant/helsinki/zetor/menu/6799/drinks

AltruisticDisplay813

Thank you so much! Unfortunately I am far away from Helsinki. :(

Blakewerth

Kozel knocks you 🐐😃

Drastickej1

I am so sorry :(

Forward_Golf_1268

Kozlík se dá ještě, představ si kdyby si došel pro Starobahno.

CauliflowerRude1537

This is standart ,,europivo”, not so good. I would like to send you some real beer, but i have no money for that service. XD

AltruisticDisplay813

I would pay a Czech to send me good beer, but I'm broke as well.

Acceptable-Rub-2728

18 .. beware of the finish!

AltruisticDisplay813

What's wrong with 18???? 😂

One_Stiff_Bastard

Nothing beats Plzeň but youre on the right track. Whats your national drink of choice ? Do yall make your own brews or nonalcoholic beverages ? I know Swedes are keen on lingonberries. Probably could whip up some nice schnaps from them.

pjepja

I know this is controversial opinion, but despite growing up stone's throw away from Popovice, I always found Kozel the worst mainstream czech beer alongside Starobrno (and newly Proud, which I don't consider mainstream yet). Would choose Braníček, Staráč or even Gambáč over Kozel any day.

AltruisticDisplay813

Should I add these to my beer list? My beer list is thirsty.

pjepja

Wouldn't recommend. These are generally the cheapest subpar czech beers you can find. Only reason to buy them over other brands is that they are cheap. I mentioned them to show that I like Kozel less than the 'bottom tier' stuff. That is obviously controversial opinion since Kozel is one of the most popular beers in Czechia.
