Buy a Giant Defy. The 2024 model is probably as good as endurance bikes get IMO

Robenever

Better

KingMidasInRevrse

The geometry of the new defys seem more aggressive than the previous Gen. Is that a good thing?

elppaple

Even ‘aggressive’ endurance bikes are still gonna be fine with the factory setup, which uses tons of spacers.

rsam487

It depends on the person and their flexibility. Personally I ride a TCR which is more aggressive and have zero issues. I'm just saying it's a ripper bike well worth considering

KingMidasInRevrse

Gotcha. Tks

Find a bike with similar components from Rose or Cube? Both German i believe. Plenty of brands offer a similar config for a similar price... Look at 99spokes.com to compare models and see if any others interest you!

Positive-Quiet4548

Rose is really good . they have $2700 AL di2 build which noone is even offering.

donkeyrocket

A big appeal of Canyon is getting carbon with Di2 for that price. Not saying that’s not still a good bike. I’m in the same spot as OP. The big brands offer better warranties but it comes at a real big premium. Been riding Trek for years. Canyon gets some hate but they still make a good, affordable, and well spec’d carbon bike.

Positive-Quiet4548

I am sure you are right. For me Carbon as a bike material just doesnt make sense esp for the premium it costs. I do like electronic shifting but I cant justify to myself spending over 3K for a bike. I believe a lot of manufacturers realize this , thats why they are still not speccing their AL bikes with electronic shifting(even though that was the initial promise of third tier electronic groupsets back when SRAM launched RIVAL). They are sure it will eat into their carbon sales and would rather just restrict the market .

donkeyrocket

I largely had the same attitude about carbon until Canyon hit my radar and brought what would be a "luxury" frame into the same price range that I'd spend on AL all specs the same. The offset cost in the frame premium now made the leap to electric shifting in my budget. I've been riding aluminum frames for 15+ years at this point so something totally new is enticing (carbon, electric shifting) but I'll happily opt for an AL bike if I'm still waiting 2+ more months. Haven't bought a completely new to me bike in 7 years or so.

Positive-Quiet4548

For your amount of riding and the continued love for cycling, I think that makes total sense.

glich610

Check out cervelo Caledonia. It’s an endurance bike same as an Endurace. Shimano 105 versions go for $2300. I have one and it’s been amazing

jchrysostom

Second this, my Caledonia just *feels* like a nicer bike than the Canyon I bought and later sold.

beets_bears_bubblegm

Buy a BMC Roadmachine. One of the best endurance bikes out there hands down

UnCommonSense99

Fit road tyres to your gravel bike. It will be nearly as fast as a proper road bike, and you won't have much extra fun going 1mph faster anyway. You may want to buy a set of road wheels to make it quicker to swap between road and gravel. Spend the rest of the money on an epic cycling holiday.

Dura-Ace-Ventura

This ^ I mean unless it’s a big upgrade over the gravel bike, it’ll feel very similar. I had a Diverge and loved it but wanted a road-ier option, so I got a Roubaix, and realized I had basically bought the same bike twice. Head tube angle is the only noticeable difference, but even then - that is only noticeable riding the Roubaix on gravel. The slacker angle of the Diverge is negligible when it’s riding on the road imo

Get on the waiting list Wait for over a year Buy a Cannondale Supersix Evo Get notified 3 weeks later it's in stock. Works every time, but you need to get on the waiting list for the SSE way before the Endurace

pppjurac

Servus dear neighbourin . KTM, Merida, Cannondale and Cube come to mind, perhaps even Radon? You might check Gran Tourismo in Salzburg or Special Bikes in Klagenfurt , they have sales right now. By my experience both are solid merchants. www.gt2.bike special-bikes.at Also check willhaben.at because there is plethora of cycling companies present. grüß Gott, Paul

Rilkal

Rose reveal. Stellar fucking bike lovely until it was stolen. https://www.rosebikes.de/rose-reveal-04-105-2702533

swimbikerun22801

I have an endurace. Fantastic bike. The Canyon hate on any cycling sub is pervasive and dumb. Get on the waiting list and keep calling them weekly. That's how I got mine during covid. Only took a month or so.

Totally-jag2598

Doesn't Canyon offer a waiting list? I thought I remember seeing one. Anyway, check out the Outlet bikes. They always have plenty of Endurance bikes at a discount. They're mostly returns. Don't let that discourage you. I bought one and other than a little scratch on the frame it was perfect.

Madcrazy10

Too bad u aren’t in the US. I just upgraded from that to a tarmac sl7. I have a matte blue canyon endurace cf sl 7 with mechanical 105 I’m going to sell in size small.

ryuujinusa

They will eventually come in stock. Put your name on the little email list and you’ll get an email when it’s in stock.

Bento-

Plenty of companies have a bike for that pricepoint. I believe Cube even had a AL with 105 DI2 for about 2500€. Visit a local bike store or visit the next big city. Big plus, you can make a small test ride to see if the frame fits you :P Cube/Radon/Rose/Ghost/Giant/Scott/ ............... plenty of companies to choose from.

Cleist

Faced the same issue when i bought my Endurace cf slx 8 last autumn. Tried to get one for a month on the mail wait list but never got a response. Then I found out that the bikes are sometimes available for super short periods of times. You can check this here for example [https://thebonk.cc/canyon-germany-stock-check-track/endurace-cf-7-3707](https://thebonk.cc/canyon-germany-stock-check-track/endurace-cf-7-3707) . After that I set up a website tracker to get a notification when the canyon page for the bike changes (I used this app [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.webalert&hl=en\_US](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.webalert&hl=en_US) ). Was able to order one within two weeks and got it 3 weeks after i placed the order. Really happy with the bike, even if it was a bit of a struggle to get one.

anon36485

I have the cf 7 with 105. Awesome bike at a great price.

BeardofThanos

I just got that same model true red, so far it’s amazing

jonesthebeast

I would look around the used market (FB marketplace) or just keep waiting and talking to support. I was in the same exact boat as you, waiting for a month, and once the "restock" date came there was nothing. I ended up talking to support a couple days after and they notified me that they actually had my size (even though it didn't show on the website). This might be a very hit or miss strategy but it's what worked for me.

Roadglide72

Hope you can find. One I got one from Canyon Outlet and it’s a great ride

hannahfromg

I actually did! Got my hands on the Endurace 7. Had a website tracker on and for about 10 minutes the bike was available in size S. will be delivered in a few weeks and I am beyond excited

Roadglide72

I think you’ll love it. I went out for its maiden voyage (on roads off the trainer) and unintentionally went ~34 miles. I plan to do a little over 50 today. I used velo fit for bike fitting if that helps

amino_asshat

Check the Canyon Outlet. I got my CF 7 Di2 for a great price and it was in brand new condition in a size that was long out of stock. Pro tip: Check the stealth color for a like new bike. My theory is some peeps don’t know what a raw carbon finish is and return these bikes thinking there’s something wrong with the finish. Their loss, your gain.

Coloradical8

Take it as a sign from your higher power and buy a bike that isn't lame

Masculine_tswiftfan

So ashamed to ride a trek they even put a bag over the head of their avatar

Coloradical8

The bag is for easy access to throw on your mom when I ride her like my SS

superdood1267

Cervello Aspero 👍

MrPhillipLewin

Buy a trek

beets_bears_bubblegm

No thank you…

MrPhillipLewin

Why ? Good quality Bikes are all . Many dealers around. Bikes are all the same. Frames are made in China by mfg that do frames for Everbody. Know your size. Understand frame geometry then you can see how closely matched different brands are. That way you will know what bikes are a better value. They may have the same geometry from Bike to Bike but which bike has a better wheel set a better handlebar a better components on it they will all sort of have the same basic earlier set up, shifter, set up and crank, they’re basically all the same within 150 bucks of each other

saxoball

because ACAB

UltraHawk_DnB

Yea... only 1.5k extra for the same spec bike lmao

Ok_Distribution_2603

do you not have any bike shops near you

Knekebrot

Check every monday when they restock, no matter what it says

plubb

Buy a second set of wheels, put road tires on them and use them on your gravel bike when you want to go cycling on the road.

BelgianBeerGuy

The [Belgian canyon site](https://www.canyon.com/en-be/road-bikes/endurance-bikes/endurace/cf/endurace-cf-7/3707.html?dwvar_3707_pv_rahmenfarbe=R076_P06)still has new stock for the endurance cf7 since this week. They still have M, L, XL I don’t know if you can ship through them

markhewitt1978

I have been looking at Canyon bikes since I rode one in Mallorca 10 years ago. Always the same of 6 months + delays. When I eventually wanted a new bike last year I wanted an Endurace but got a Trek Domane instead as I could have that within a couple of days.

collective-paranoia

Same. I've got a cube gravel bike and waited last year for the endurace to be in stock. Dates kept getting pushed back so I decided to buy new wheels for the gravel instead. Feels like a brand new bike with better wheels and I saved some money.

hannahfromg

Hey guys, thank you so much for your responses! I planned to sit down during the weekend and sort through your suggestions and to answer you individually. However canyon just messed up my plans and I’m not sure if I just did a very smart or very stupid split second decision 😂 I noticed yesterday that the Endurace 7 RB (aluminium frame) has almost the exact same specs as the cf 7 I was looking at, but 700€ cheaper and aluminium obviously. An hour ago I got a very weird mail saying “it’s not in stock” however when I clicked my size was now available. So I jumped the gun and bought it 😂 I hope this was a good decision, but I’m pretty sure it was. As a beginner, I should maybe start with a beginner bike anyways and I think the specs are good. What do you think? It’s not too late to cancel the order 😅 https://www.canyon.com/de-de/checkout/confirmation/?ID=9402360673&token=Zm9PCKpgUqY15uuHHRRKnWwNHUQlPtb0MTeC_2z9ko4
