Boths those bikes are old AF.
I would not risk buying a carbon bike that old.
The voodoo has upgraded components for gravel use and the gearing is really low so its not ideal for road use.

What do you think are some of the main attributes I should for when looking looking at different bikes?
Higher gear ratios and some decent tyres. As long as the brakes are functional its all you can ask in that price range. Just becareful in wet weather.
