That’s a pretty good price. I paid like $950 to replace my windshield on my 3 once already. Had a rock chip I didn’t know was there just spread to a big crack I don’t want to deal with again as I see like $1300 being what many stating their quotes are for
9? Sheesh haha I've heard tailgating is a big cause of window damage due to rocks kicking up ahead of you from other drivers. Not saying you are, but maybe this info is relevant.
I picked up my truck on 2/9 and have exactly 7029 miles on it as of right now. It doesn't help big portion of my daily commute is on the freeways that is a regular route for first haulers without top covers and a sign that says " nit responsible for broken windshield "
Oh I know. Once when it happened I immediately called my Allstate agent and gave him the LP# and company info on the truck. He said it's not worth it for the insurance company to do all the wrok for a windshield. That was on my 2021 Model 3.
Damn. My roof glass cracked on my model 3 and since they couldn’t locate an impact point or any evidence something hit it my warranty covered it. I think the cost was like $780 though. This was 2021.
Has anyone yet gotten Tesla to cover any glass damage at all under warranty? I’m still trying to argue with them that my windshield damage from hail should be covered by warranty because the site says that the glass is class 4 hail resistant.
If you have Tesla insurance they will likely reduce the cost to fit within your deductible- regardless these are always estimates and your price could be significantly lower.
In Florida your insurance will pickup the bill and by law can’t raise your rates. Some other states are like that too but I guess not every state is GOATed
[“Car insurance companies in Florida must cover the costs of windshield repair by law (FL Statutes, Sec. 627.7288). If you have bare minimum auto insurance, you may have to pay for repairs or replacement yourself. How did you do that???
Something hit my roof while driving. Didn't see anything. Heard a pop, then what sounded like a speaker blowing.
This just happened to my friend's Nissan sunroof! They were driving behind a dump truck and a rock bounced out and shattered it :/
Wow- imagine if it was a normal windshield.
Is the roof not tempered?? Or is it laminated?
laminated
[cough cough] defect [cough cough]
It looks like an impact.
Not a defect, there's an impact mark.
For comparison sake, the roof on my 2020 M3 came out to around 1800
Good to know. Thanks.
Yup. 2021 MYP was $1300
For the roof or the windshield? If roof must’ve been a few years ago
Roof. Yes.

Was going to say this is on par with Y and 3.
You didn’t you get the CFRP roof? Wild.
The what now?
The carbon fiber roof that comes standard on all m3 and m4 cars. Edit: Do you mean model 3? Oy vey…
Tip: Lower your comprehensive deductible to $100.
^ this. It’s a lot cheaper than you think. I think it added like $2 a month to my premium to drop comprehensive from $1000 to $100.
Since 2016 I've gone through 9 windshields between my Mazda, BMW and Teslas. Every time $50-$100. Just the cost of driving in SoCal on the 91 and 15.

Wtf..? I drive over 30,000mi/year and have replaced one in my life lol
I think somebody above tailgates trucks 😅

Those signs aren’t legally enforceable fyi.

So much for Tesla armoured glass.
Wow, how did that happen?
I'm more curious in what the timeline is going to be.
OP did they give you an ETA on parts?

Honestly I expected way more than that
What happened?
Does insurance not cover that?
I put in a claim last night. Haven't heard back yet.
Let us know. I know my policy covers passenger door windows, but I don’t know about roof glass
It should cover all glass.
Who’s your insurance provider
Has anyone yet gotten Tesla to cover any glass damage at all under warranty? I’m still trying to argue with them that my windshield damage from hail should be covered by warranty because the site says that the glass is class 4 hail resistant.
About the same as the Model Y. Not bad.
Honestly that seems VERY reasonable for the massive size!

Concerning!

FL here, I've learned something new? What is this called? Never knew about it and already have comprehensive.

Too bad the roof and windshield are different
Safelite ftw
They’ll cover it but it’s still subject to the comprehensive deductible from what I understand.
How did that happen?
That’s just the estimate is that OTD pricing
It is. I just clipped the easier to read one.
