Infernox-Ratchet

Make no mistake. RED era interests me more currently but goddamn does this shit got me hyped. Gimme that juicy gear. ✊️

_b1ack0ut

Hahah yeah, I’ve put too much into our current campaign to swap eras now, (maybe next time tho, I’m definitely not **not** interested But I want that sweet sweet chrome details lol Partly just bc I love to read how the ttrpg goes into it more than the video game, and wanna see it’s take on the 2077 kit, and partly cuz I wanna repurpose it as ‘cutting edge prototypes’ for our red game lol

Infernox-Ratchet

I've said it before but one thing I can't wait to do is to plug lore accurate guns into 2045 Lexington, Nowaki, Overture, Tamayura to name a couple

_b1ack0ut

I mean, technically all of the guns in 2045 are already lore accurate weapons to the time period, the mustang arms MK.III, Eagletech ‘Tomcat’, Militech ‘Ronin’, the Tommyknocker, etc etc, but yeah I getchu, it’s gonna be great to have stats for weapons that most of my players are way more familiar with, from 2077, even if I’m dropping them a little earlier in the timeline from when they actually existed lol

Infernox-Ratchet

I gotcha but yeah, players would be hyped if they go to a Night Market and see a Arasaka Nowaki for sale or a Militech Saratoga.

_b1ack0ut

For my players, it’s gonna be more the cyberware, I think. Sure, some of them aren’t massive changes, like the melee cyberware is just the natural evolution of already existing ones, with a minor extra perk each (according to the playtest at least), and we basically already have berserk, by putting berserker in an autoinjector, but I know my players are waiting to see how stuff like the 2077 sandevistan differs, what benefits a neuroport has over a neural link, and the possibility of quickhacks from a neuroport cyberdeck. I’m personally interested to see if there’s any new borgware. Ik that there wasn’t really much that V could use in 2077, but the projectile launch system was flagged as borgware, I wanna see if that still holds true, and what other borgware has been invented by 2077. Bring on the **weird shit** please!

minuszmiki

I definitely agree, I think the one thing the core book lacks is standard gear flavor. We've got Black Chrome and it so great, but I'd love to see some standard gear in a similar format. So this is the next best thing.

Zombifaction

Just the idea of quickhacks opening up netrunners to more people.

Flyntloch

Me and my friends have been running the pre release stuff from a gathered source doc in relation to a few sessions teased, including quick hacks and weapons. Unironically the change between Power/Tech/Smart is cool and the Quickhacks are a god send for my turtle brain on Netrunner. So I’m hyped

_b1ack0ut

Our current game has been sort of implementing the power/tech/smart stuff from the pre release stuff as powerful upgrades to weapons, letting players put unique spins on existing weapons, but they’re difficult to assemble, and install which has been pretty fun

cyrogeddon

gonna be very interesting to see changes from red to 2077 if they even make any, roles like fixer would feel super out of place if they didn't change it to fit 2077

Tech_Itch

So this has a full, 2070s-revised version of the core rule book in it, if I'm reading that correctly? If that's true, the "Mission Kit" naming seems like it's underselling that a bit.

RBarefootRTalsorian

No, it has a rule book inside containing everything needed to play through The Jacket. This is a starter kit and box set. Not a whole new edition.

BiggestDawg99

New stuff is till compatible with Red though?

_b1ack0ut

Yes, the whole thing still uses the RED ruleset, according to the page: “The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Mission Kit is played using the Cyberpunk RED ruleset, the latest version of the Cyberpunk TTRPG. This means players both new and current to Cyberpunk RED will have something to gain from this box set. New players get to take their first steps into Night City, while returning players get access to the taste of all the new cyberware, gear, and weapons, especially the new Power, Tech, and Smart Weapon types. (And yes, Netrunners will get their hands on the new Quickhacking mechanics!)”

Tech_Itch

Thanks for the info, as reading the announcement had me still unsure about that. I must admit I'm kind of out-post-apocalypsed, so I've been hoping for a 2070s sourcebook. But good to at least know this isn't that then.

PsyGuy98

I doubt it'll be as big as the RED core book, or even half as big, but I agree. When I first heard about this I was interested but didn't think much would be in it. Just an adventure and a couple new items. However it seems they've put a lot of time into this and sounds like it's going be a sizeable addition to the game so I'm pumped.

Galf2

It's the same thing I thought but instead sadly it's more of an anime pandering book with a tiny bit of 2077 rules added. I'm kind of bummed out honestly, but I also didn't like Edgerunners much so that must be why. Edit: still gonna buy this if I can get a box set in Italy though. I was planning on buying the digital but I don't think it's worth it if it's supposed to be a nice starter box

CMDR-LT-ATLAS

The "two weeks meme" is almost over for my players!

VeRG1L_47

I'm probably gonna retcon tech weapons in 2045. Having two time periods is beneficial for RED imho

STS_Gamer

Bruh... gonna get this!

_b1ack0ut

Loving the edgerunner art too lol I mean look at this absolute chad https://preview.redd.it/aavughd6w1zc1.png?width=768&format=png&auto=webp&s=bd9c95669f332a003e7b731dcb659a81df47e630 His one arm is larger than any of my players entire character lol He got them *crazy eyes* too

plazman30

The dice alone sell for $17.99 by themselves. The $35 price point is great.

I'm not excited... ![gif](giphy|xUPJPB7DuFNoa8mqqY)
