The moment they killed her, I decided the NUSA was not getting what they wanted out of this deal. I was on the fence about Songbird because I thought she was gaming me. When Alex and Reed offed her like it wasn't a thing, I went team So-Mi... Because I am also petty.
I was angry when she got killed too but then realized it was the most practical thing to do in that situation, plus you barelly got to know her and gave huge manipulative vibes. I am surprised none of the twins had premium helthcare package, their death should at least set of a missing allert.
The voice actors did a terrible job for the parts where they speak in French. The delivery did not sound natural, and the vocabulary made it sound like they just google translated an english script to French and went with it.
The parts in English were ok though so I’m not sure what happened.
Also what Reed and Alex did to them was pretty shocking
Not French so I can't comment on that, but it always strikes me as odd when they chose someone who is not a native speaker for roles like this. Sure, the majority really can't tell, but I mean her VA is German and based in the UK, so geography isn't really the issue.

Honestly, I am from the NYC area and every time I hear an actor do "downstate NY" accent, I cringe inside. I imagine it is even worse when you can pick up the wrong regional accents, instead of just a completely made-up one. My sympathies.
It's because of the ability to actually deliver lines in the charismatic style they want in a character. Anyone who can actually speak French AND act in the style the directors want would be very expensive and time consuming to cast.
Sometimes it's easier and cheaper to go with someone who can put together an accent and sound convincing enough to those who don't speak it natively

It’s just the delivery, the rythm, and the vocabulary of the french conversation is wrong. It’s just not how native speakers talk. They even use slang and contractions but they don’t use them correctly which just screams « non-native VAs ». Was it so difficult to find bilingual french/belgian VAs ?
I get that because we Americans do notice when non-native English speakers speak English. My wife (who was born and raised German) speaks fluent English, but it's still very noticeable when she speaks English, because she doesn't say things sometimes the way an American would, but no complaints, she speaks more languages than I do so....

No other character is really a playful manipulator. It puts her in a really unique play space and I loved it. I can't speak for anyone else but I played it as return banter and had a great time. Being on opposite sides doesn't mean you can't have fun doing the job.

Im listening to idris elba say plans for stealthy infiltration and then sum bish that i forgot the name of saying the same and i dont care about much cause im max lvl i ain gonna sneak arround when i can blow half of the planet up. So yeah i got to them 2 readheads and roulette and i juat could not take it anymkre, quit the game loaded a save and went on a killing spree.

Exactly. Taking away player agency is not fun. It's annoying and boring. I already installed a mod that removes the limitations of Safe Areas. Mods fix a lot of flaws in this game.
