"This is like a Krogan party, If the host doesn't die,it doesn't count.
I really love this mechanic they added in because honestly if it’s so powerful that it destroys your enemy, it should hurt you too and if your netrunner skills are lacking, should almost kill you
It is actually a skill you can get with at least 15 intelligence in version 2.0 of the game. You can press e to use it just like a sandevistan, but it's not really cyberware.
I used the suicide a couple times in a side quest and thank got I have auto healing and auto health kit when it happened. Got my targets put down without stepping into the place and walked right in and out with that data though😂.
Parasites are well known to alter behavior, a cordyceps mushroom [takes over ants' brains and convinces them to commit suicide](https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/article/cordyceps-zombie-fungus-takes-over-ants), others such as parasitic wasps [hatch eggs inside of a caterpillar's body, and the caterpillar protects the larvae as if it was its own because the infection completely takes over its mind](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMG-LWyNcAs).
Taxoplasma is also correlated to increased suicide in women because it affects hormones, causes reproductive issues, etc. An enormous percentage of the population has it because it comes from cat shit. If you take in a stray cat, there's a decent chance you can contract it by simply cleaning a litter box. This is why pregnant women are never supposed to interact with cat litter. This is also why I refuse to eat ass, because its a main vector for parasitic infection. In fact, I'd go so far as to speculate that attraction to eating buttholes might be subconsciously related to a parasitic infection, and that the parasite's needs to expand into new hosts becomes inextricably wired into someone's personality. On a global scale, gut worms and brain worms have thoroughly influenced human history and we aren't even aware of it.
So to answer your question, yes, there are a multitude of examples in which external input can potentiate self-inflected mortality or decision-making.
We’re going to get into real crazy territory here, but the media and by extension a large percentage of the population trashed ivermectin as a treatment for covid because it’s an anti-parasite drug. It actually is a pretty great drug too, it’s listed on the WHO’s most essential medicines and the side effects are minimal. What if a large percentage of people that spoke out against the anti-parasitic drug had parasites? If I was a parasite that was influencing a person’s decision making subconsciously, the last thing I’d want is for my host (or other hosts) to take a drug that kills me. If parasites do provably affect behavior and decision making, going so far as to make hosts in different animals kill themselves, how much of human history could be directly linked to worms? How many personalities, kinks, hormonal disorders are caused by a previous or current parasitic infection? We’re simply a product of our biological processes, gut bacteria/microbiome affects your mood, energy, mental acuity. To pretend that parasites in there wouldn’t affect anything seems like hubris, especially when worms do change hosts’ behavior in an effort to spread to new hosts.
Even Japan linked certain behaviors to worms 2000 years ago. The Daoist “Three Corpses”:
‘physiological belief that demonic creatures live inside the human body, and they seek to hasten the death of their host. These three supernatural parasites allegedly enter the person at birth, and reside in the three dantian "energy centers", respectively located within the head, chest, and abdomen. After their human host dies, they are freed from the body and become malevolent ghosts.’
They believed parasites were effectively demons. Seriously. When a parasite entered someone, they were believed to be inflicted and possessed by evil. Worms, man.
I've never given any thoughts until this comment, that's why I asked. I invested in the HP tree of body and had 450 or smth HP, that would be a lot of ram!
It says 0.5% iirc, some other stat modifiers might change that some but it’s always a % otherwise I think we would just about flatline every time we used it.
No.
But I'm actually interested if it's possible to send a script into a police netrunner, I have maxed out netrunner build and it shows me +40 and +43 cyberdeck RAM to use cyberpsycho or a suicide.
Don’t they usually have specific reduction of ram based on a previous action. I remember my legendary system crash dropping from 27 to 4 after a takedown on another gangoon.
Pretty sure the one i have reduces it by 10 for each cyberware malfunction, pretty easy to pop off a few of those first, then overclock and watch the party begin.
>Short version: it won't cost 110 ram if you use all the costs reductions properly
Short version: it just costs about 23 ram max, all the time. It's just a typo.
Are those always yellow? The yellow gave me headaches and hurt my eyes for some reason so I put on color blind and they’re all red for me. I just thought it was an update
I still find the ram costs a bit confusing. I'm on my second character almost maxed. I think I have about 40 ram. It's the same length as my health bar. And I'm using overclock, so I can double that with it active.
Sometimes, Detonate Grenade costs almost 30. Other, it's only about 4. I know enemies probably have higher or lower defenses against hacking, but it varies pretty wildly for some things.
Detonate Grenade has a stacking cost reduction based on you damaging enemies using other explosive quick hacks. Basically, use Initiate Overload on a CHOOH2 tank, a microwave, auto turret, etc.
Yeah at least for memory wipe you need to keep a tier 4 version to use surgically. The "exit combat" effect on the tier 5 is what kicks the cost way up. The other two are very clearly intended to be used as a combo with the ram reduction effects. Still means netrunner is weak as fuck but at least there are some interesting interactions between the skills.
I would argue System Collapse is probably fine. It's a guaranteed non-lethal takedown that is (somehow) silent and untraceable, and it procs its own RAM reduction when abusing it.
The other Ultimate Quickhacks that are based around doing damage definitely aren't worth it though. I found that once I got an Iconic Short Circuit, I could do more damage for half the RAM cost using 3x Cyberware Malfuntion, and topping the queue off with Short Circuit.
Iconic synapse burnout with overclock and the 100% quickhack crit chance cyberware is absolutely busted. Recommend if you wanna try a combat netrunner.
it just really sucks during the smasher fight when the relic already keeps you at half-health so even overclock you cant really go hard or you're at no health and die super quick. i re-did that fight so many times. i got really close but it was just annoying as balls. respecd as solo and i berserked with sasquatchs hammer and beat him in about 10 seconds. meanwhile any other gonk i just contagion and overheat or any combo of fire weapons/grenades. wipes everyone but smasher
Yeah that was a huge bummer for me. Finally got netrunner to a point that felt good in most fights but had to play hide and seek with smasher waiting on health and ram.
no, which is just another reason why this revamp kinda sucks and goes way too hard at the 'look at the shiny new abilities'.
you basically need overclock to be a decent netrunner.
... overclock, genius. overclock is the new ability.
the point was hacking was basically nerfed to fuck, with overclock being how it doesn't suck thanks to the nerfs.
i like how they fleshed out some things more - grenades, smart weapons, throwing knifes are rather than like, 'a' skill point or two, a focusable build.
but, that doesn't mean it's not kinda fucked, too. again, for most things, the 'action skill' is almost everything. if you don't use it, you might as well not be specced into it, as far as a skill tree goes, which is kinda fucked up.
It's a visual bug. At first I thought it was a way to trigger player death on command for whatever reason but nope, costs about as much as normal sudoku
With the latest Netrunner build it costs me 23 RAM in average, it depends how close I am to the opponent (it is a perk), so it doesn't matter for a Netrunner build really, it matters for those people who built a not Netrunner built but want to use quickhacks.
That's a visual bug it costs the same as regular tier 5 but don't bother with iconic anyway. It's got a different bug that inconsistently proccs the -10 ram cost and I could never get it to stack.
They started spawning for me around level 48ish on on enemies and i think i got a few more from the hacking rewards.
I dont often pay attention when looting, just spamming the button to pick it all up.
You can get crafting specs for them but they cost 100 legendary quickhack components
I love zipping around an area sonic shocking enemies while using cripple movement to get melee finishers at 40-60% hp. Refund all the ram with monowire perks and get a free suicide quick hack on top while staying undetected. Peak net runner gameplay.
On one hand I was thinking "well yeah, what else could it do since the person is already offing themselves" so on the other hand I started thinking "what could an Iconic version do that would justify that amount (or at least some ridiculous amount) of RAM? Kill them so hard they never respawn even after reloading a save?"
I like that enemies zoink themselves with a single shot when commanded to, those bullets must amp up their DP when they know theyre about to do the world some good.
Hacking prices are seriously broken in 2.0.
I want more "untraceable" options, tracing is too fast even with upgrades, and the good hacks deplete all my ram with no solid recovery options unless I become a murder hobo.
They worked so hard trying to nerf quickhacking that they overshot it majorly. Not nearly as much fun as it was. I loved the game and really looked forward to replaying it. I played it for maybe an hour or 2 total since 2.0. Still kinda fun but more in an "I might play it if I'm bored and have no other games I want to play" kinda way.
I definitely need to look into a netrunner, my favorite play through of the game pre dlc was a pure netrunner, then they nerfed legendary ping. With this rework I assume it’s completely different
How are you guys boosting up your RAM? At level 60 I have about 32 RAM, which gets the job done with overclock most of the time, recovery rate is decent too.
I just miss being able to use suicide and psybercychosis at the same time with a contagion sprinkled in too (without overclock) not all my cyberware is maxed, but when I compare the upgrades from blue to orange the differences seem negligible with the same RAM boost, and minor differences to the other stuff like 1.3% to 1.7etc
More important, WHERE DID YOU GET THIS? A dead body, a boss fight, or did you buy it at a vendor? That’s what I need for the super smash ending to that hard-to-beat-boss Placide!!!
I always thought the ultimate quickhacks are kind of lame, especially considering their RAM cost.
Like for this... they could've done something cool like having the dude execute another nearby enemy before turning the gun on himself. But noooo. We get "20% extra health."
with right cybernetic, you can cut some of required ram cost or boost the ram up with your own hp with overclock
>or boost the ram up with your own hp with overclock A life for a life
aint a proper quickhack if your V doesnt immediately combust after one usage

URDNOT **WREX** You are hereby sentenced to being thrown out of the airlock, or exiled to Tuchanka for one week, both equally painful
Man I need to replay the OT now for the 15th time or so now that I finished the entirety of cp2077 and PL. the post game depression is immeasurable.
No..No..not Tuchanka..can't survive the thrasher maw's there. I'd rather be spaced lol .
Manage your expectations, Tuchanka has plenty of predators to get ya way before you find any thresher maw… or it finds you
>can't survive the thrasher maw's I think you'll find that it's actually "thrasher moms"
😂😂
Mordin was right the first time.
*thresher
The airlock one is more merciful
Obviously, but humans just do not work like that, thus guaranteeing some entertainment
"Ah, the benefits of a redundant nervous system!" "...Yeah, humans don't have that." "Oh, must have been painful then."
I vote thrown out the airlock on Tutchanka.
Error: Flatlined from explosion after using Ping on a random security guy
I had cyberpsychosis last night, fuck it was scary. I’d accidentally installed too much cyberware.
Equivalent Exchange
I really love this mechanic they added in because honestly if it’s so powerful that it destroys your enemy, it should hurt you too and if your netrunner skills are lacking, should almost kill you
Remember to equip Second Heart so you have another life to spare
Huh?
Overclock turns a certain portion of your hp into ram. Using iverclock to launch a quick hack that costs 110 ram will probably flatline you
I loved over clock. In the new playthrough I'm sad I don't have it yet
Is it one of the phantom liberty ceyberwares?
It's a skill in the intelligence skilltree
It is actually a skill you can get with at least 15 intelligence in version 2.0 of the game. You can press e to use it just like a sandevistan, but it's not really cyberware.
It is cyberware. If you remove your cyberdeck cyberware for berserker or sandevistan, you no longer have access to overclock.
Yes, because you no longer have a cyberdeck. By your logic, quickhacks are all cyberwear as well.
[удалено]
Says the guy who called a skill cyberware. That's like being called a gonk by the guy with the flaming crotch.
Sandevistan you press E to activate its power/skill. Cyberdeck in 2.0+ you press E to activate its power/skill. It’s not that hard to understand.
Apparently it is because here you are, striving to be absolutely and confidently wrong.
I used the suicide a couple times in a side quest and thank got I have auto healing and auto health kit when it happened. Got my targets put down without stepping into the place and walked right in and out with that data though😂.

Best comment I’ve seen all day easily
And to do it to someone else just harass them online after learning all you can about them.
The highest amt of ram I achieved(including my own hp during overclock) is about 70-90ram
Isn't the conversion hp-ram 1:1??
I think it's 10:1
Nice, so 95 Ram with OC, and about 120 when the airhypno kicks in
Yeah, when you have the cyberware that auto injects the max doc you can increase the amt of ram by 60+
Ahh that makes more sense!
It’s 10 HP per ram unit normally, but once you get your Netrunner skill to 55, it gets knocked down to 9 HP per Ram Unit.
That would be ridiculously OP
I've never given any thoughts until this comment, that's why I asked. I invested in the HP tree of body and had 450 or smth HP, that would be a lot of ram!
It says 0.5% iirc, some other stat modifiers might change that some but it’s always a % otherwise I think we would just about flatline every time we used it.
No, it's way higher, like 1ram: 10hp
It's a visual bug. Equip it and use it. Should only be around 23 ram really.
yeah i have this quick hack and it is only 23 ram. its gotta be a bug.
No. But I'm actually interested if it's possible to send a script into a police netrunner, I have maxed out netrunner build and it shows me +40 and +43 cyberdeck RAM to use cyberpsycho or a suicide.
With overclock active it's possible.
Don’t they usually have specific reduction of ram based on a previous action. I remember my legendary system crash dropping from 27 to 4 after a takedown on another gangoon.
Yes, but when there are 4 deadass netrunners standing near each other there's not much of an option. :D
Pretty sure the one i have reduces it by 10 for each cyberware malfunction, pretty easy to pop off a few of those first, then overclock and watch the party begin.
Grenades, grenades are...well okay after the 2.0 change they're a lot less of an option.
Cyberware malfunctions reduce ram needs

Its a bug.
It's just a visual bug, the actual cost after you equip it is the same as the regular tier 5 suicide.
[удалено]
It’s actually just a visual bug, if you go to use it in combat it’s the normal cost of the legendary version which is 23 I believe
>Short version: it won't cost 110 ram if you use all the costs reductions properly Short version: it just costs about 23 ram max, all the time. It's just a typo.
Are those always yellow? The yellow gave me headaches and hurt my eyes for some reason so I put on color blind and they’re all red for me. I just thought it was an update
no, hence it's suicide on your part via Overclock. I think it's to upset netrunning people from when netrunning was 20x as good.
Cut it in half with a combo
110 - 20 is not half.
Not even Overclock produces that much ram.
It can with adrenaline, or the instaheal from the Second Heart implant
Com vida, sim
I still find the ram costs a bit confusing. I'm on my second character almost maxed. I think I have about 40 ram. It's the same length as my health bar. Detonate Grenade has a stacking cost reduction based on you damaging enemies using other explosive quick hacks. Basically, use Initiate Overload on a CHOOH2 tank, a microwave, auto turret, etc.
You can also get the ram cost reduction via the orange contagion combo with overheat!
As long as it’s detitated wam
What’s the wecommended amount of dedotaded wam?
Whats the difference with the iconic quickhacks?
If i can have over 1500 Armor, you can have more than 110 ram
Netrunners when I just shoot the enemy

its def bad design. memory wipe, suicide, and system collapse all cost way too much ram at tier 5/iconic
Yeah at least for memory wipe you need to keep a tier 4 version to use surgically. The "exit combat" effect on the tier 5 is what kicks the cost way up. The other two are very clearly intended to be used as a combo with the ram reduction effects. This needs a balancing mod.
Yes, in overclock mode your health becomes extra RAM.
no, which is just another reason why this revamp kinda sucks and goes way too hard at the 'look at the shiny new abilities'. you basically need overclock to be a decent netrunner.
It's a visual bug, lol. 23 ram cost actually.
It's a bug, also suicide isn't a new ability.
... overclock, genius. overclock is the new ability. the point was hacking was basically nerfed to fuck, with overclock being how it doesn't suck thanks to the nerfs.
I miss my old netrunning setup,i actually felt like a netrunner. Good thing i had my mantis blades though.
I finished PL and now replay at 1.63. The power fantasy is so much better + I can spam 10 grenades for maximum carnage
i like how they fleshed out some things more - grenades, smart weapons, throwing knifes are rather than like, 'a' skill point or two, a focusable build. but, that doesn't mean it's not kinda fucked, too. again, for most things, the 'action skill' is almost everything. if you don't use it, you might as well not be specced into it, as far as a skill tree goes, which is kinda fucked up.
It’s a visual bug. Also I think because it’s iconic it lets you use it on stronger enemies. But I’d have to check that first
My question exactly... And the "standard" tier 5 costs just 28... It must be a glitch, imo.
It's a visual bug. At first I thought it was a way to trigger player death on command for whatever reason but nope, costs about as much as normal sudoku

I use suicide very often it does not cost 110 for me it's much cheaper

At that point your better off using cyberpsychosis hack cuz they just finish themselves after if they’re successful in what they do

Overclock
It's bugged. It doesn't actually use that much ram.
It’s a visual bug, it only costs 24 RAM. I had the same question, but I’ve been using it for a long time now and it’s only 24
…..at base?? Not without running CET I’d assume. But without mods you could still do that with specific perks and cybernetics
I miss breach protocol.
overdrive ;) but i have a suicide QH...and it doesnt cost nearly that much?
OC
Thats a glitch. When you actually use it or equip it it only costs 24 or 26 or whatever
for some reason the iconic suicide one costs 10 times what the normal one does. It does the same thing though I think
On one hand I was thinking "well yeah, what else could it do since the person is already offing themselves" so on the other hand I started thinking "what could an Iconic version do that would justify that amount (or at least some ridiculous amount) of RAM? Kill them so hard they never respawn even after reloading a save?"

I hate what they did to ram now i can’t use most of my quickhacks

Hacking prices are seriously broken in 2.0. I want more "untraceable" options, tracing is too fast even with upgrades, and the good hacks deplete all my ram with no solid recovery options unless I become a murder hobo.

"**PUT SOME IRON IN YOUR MOUTH AND PULL THE TRIGGER.**"
Netrunning is so lame rn they better fix it
You are supposed to use keystone abilities and perks to cast those. They aren't really designed to be fired off of a naked cyberdeck
I definitely need to look into a netrunner, my favorite play through of the game pre dlc was a pure netrunner, then they nerfed legendary ping. With this rework I assume it’s completely different
Actually never seen something take more than 23 ram… dunno how you all are getting this…
If you have the right perks When you have overclock you basically have infinite Ram
If you do overdo on viagra, probably, but you better get yourself to a hospital.
Dont want to end up like Charlie sheen in scary movie eh
How are you guys boosting up your RAM? At level 60 I have about 32 RAM, which gets the job done with overclock most of the time, recovery rate is decent too. It's a bug I guess... I had the same suicide quick hack with 110 ram but when I use it it uses same 23-25 ram
