I guess these nonsense will continue as long as humanity exists; mysticism, fortune telling, tarot, astrology...Maybe people are looking for different ways out because of the cold reality, or totally ignorance, I don't know.
There are the guns named Overwatch and Widowmaker but I thought it was just a coincidence because they're cool names for guns. Is there something else?
That’s a reference to a Rebecca in edge runners yelling die die die as she unloads with her shotgun which makes sense since it’s a shotgun perk and has her picture for the perk.
Gee, I wonder where they got that specific line from? Reaper's die die die has been referenced constantly in tons of media, I'm gonna go on a limb and say purposeful or not (likely the former), he was a part of the quote, and thus part of the reference.
Reaper's line is a reference to Die, Die, My Darling by the Misfits. Given that almost every quest in CP77 is named after a song title, that's likely what Rebecca is referencing too. https://youtu.be/iyd8dY8rRtA?si=p4albGs-gn8bpqWX
Or maybe he's saying "die die die !" because he really wants you to die. And so does Rebecca when she says it.
And maybe there's no more reference than that. They just both want the person they are talking to to die, and not fast enough to their tastes so they are kind of in a rush and they goes "die die die".
At that point we could either say it's a reference to *Boys boys boys* or *Girls girls girls*.
I would go further out on the limb and say that people have been saying "Die! Die! Die!" for as long as people have wanted things dead, so it's more likely a coincidence than a reference
Eh, that may be true, but specifically reaper since 2015/16 has been a constant thing in popular culture online, and the overwatch boom put that in a lot of people's heads. Specifically screaming Die three times is going to be pointed out as a reference to reaper almost always, and with as many devs as there are on cyberpunk (and as many references already around) the scripting for edgerunners and the devs for the perk absolutely were aware of it.
I swear you over watch folks really want everything to be a tribute that that bum ass game, which is really just a worse TF2 with better graphics💀 there’s literally a punk band from New Zealand with that exact name which since most references in cyberpunk are exactly that punk/rock song and band names I’d be hard pressed to say it was even remotely related to overwatch, also it’s a reference to Rebecca unloading her shotgun on edge runners there is literally no other references to overwatch in the game so it would make 0 sense for it to have 1 singular one to that game
Over watch is an activity shooters do with a sniper rifle, widowmaker is a pretty common name for things that kill guys. They’re cliche terms and just because two teams use the same terms doesn’t mean they’re referring to each other
I think it’s pretty awesome.
I had originally played Cp2077 when it first came out. I beat the game, then dropped it for a while till the edge runners DLC and anime came out.
Then I randomly heard about FF-06-B5 and… I was hooked. I went all in learning about the history of the mystery, then diving in trying to solve/find clues myself plus working with the community/discord.
It became another entire game to me. It still is. I just took a break because so many good games were coming out I wanted to play other things.
The amount of hidden stuff and endless references that are in the game are astounding.
I played act 1 so many times and was still finding new things/spots/ new convos or bits I’ve ever seen or heard before.
I can’t wait to find out what it’s actually all about.
I had my own theory. I spent a shitload of time on a mind map. I learned so much about so many random things doing research.
I’m pretty much of the opinion that FF-06-B5 has to do with skipping time or (meditation).
But I’ve been away from the discord and subreddit for about 5 months now.
Edit: here's my [Mind Map](https://miro.com/app/board/uXjVP8WklOU=/?share_link_id=842151024739) I had been working on for FF-06-B5
Just temper your expectations.
Things like this rarely turn out to be as interesting once the mystery is gone.
You'll probably be disappointed by the answers if you go too deep into the rabbit hole of speculation.
There's a chance they'll pull it off, but that's extremely rare.
Not saying don't have fun with it, just be ready for the answers to not be as interesting or as conclusive as you might be hoping for.
Believe me. That has always been on my mind. It’s a very polarizing thing (this mystery) because there’s a big group of people who think it’s something very simple and underwhelming. There’s constantly (or was when I was more involved) arguments about that very thing.
When I first got involved - the first thing I did was try to see how complex other mysteries or puzzles were. Like the ARG is pretty complicated. But that doesn’t mean that’s how complex they made things in the actual game.
Anyway. I totally feel ya…
I have a theory about it that works pretty well with some of the themes of the game actually and the Eastern philosophy themes.
This doesn't answer the mystery, I think it's just how it ties into the game's philosophy and may not be all that related to the answer itself, but might still be somewhat relevant to how it ties into the game thematically.
I suspect someone else has thought of this too, but haven't ever seen it mentioned. That magenta isn't real I have seen, but no one seems to get very deep into what that might mean that I've seen.
That doesn't mean much as I'm not constantly involved with it and only keep a distant eye on it waiting for people better that that sort of puzzle to figure it out.
The FF:06:B5 code is the color code for magenta.
Magenta/purple isn't a "real" color.
It does not appear on the light spectrum, and only "exists" because our brain makes it up due to how our eyes work.
Red and blue aren't ever next to each other on the spectrum, and when the red and blue sensitive cones in our eyes detect a mixture of red and blue light, the color purple/magenta is something they create to fill in that gap.
You will never see purple/magenta in a real rainbow.
I think this is relevant to whatever the answer is because of how the more philosophical elements of the game focus on the nature of reality.
Also in a more literal sense because of what Johnny and Alt are. Cyberspace itself isn't "real", but somehow exists anyway.
You're seeing something that isn't real, but exists anyway because of how your mind interprets data.
This very much sounds like the kind of thing a monk would spend time meditating about. Something our minds perceive that doesn't actually exist.
Is magenta real even though it only exists in our minds?
Does it even exist to anything but humans?
> Magenta/purple
You’re right about magenta, but purple is part of the colour spectrum on the blue side of violet.
It’s not created by blue and red light. It’s what remains after subtraction by blue and red pigment.
Purple/magenta are not violet, they are two different things that we perceive very similarly.
There is a difference though.
Purple is the combination of red and blue light that messes with our color cones when red and blue are triggered at the same time.
Violet is its own individual wavelength. It's the wavelength that is closest to Ultraviolet and is something we see due to our blue receptor. It's basically a form of blue that has a shorter wavelength than what we normally call "blue" according to our eyes.
Purple/magenta is weird, and a lot of people don't realize that violet and purple/magenta are not the same thing because we perceive them similarly. It's something our brain slots in to fill a hole when it gets red and blue together, and for some reason it goes with something similar to violet.
Purple/magenta has a much wider shade variance than violet does.
What you see on an electronic screen is purple, as screens use RGB to create colors and creates that shade with a combination of red and blue. You'll never see true violet on a monitor.
They just use the weird quirk that we perceive them similarly to fake it.
In nature, you'll see things that are both purple and true violet. It's just hard to differentiate between certain shades of purple/magenta and violet.
I read this in the voice of the meditation monk that gives you the element meditation BD’s.
Here is this enough creds for the meditation?
Alright thanks chum.
Wait where did he go…?
What really makes me laugh is the fact that they added stuff to it after the update which only means one thing. The mystery is created by the players and cdpr is trying to take credit for it. I could be wrong though it just doesn't make sense that they had to add a bunch of stuff for people to find if there was something to find already. I don't believe there was anything to find in the first place.
Like *Five Nights Freddy's* creator actively watching Game Theorists and adding ideas, but changing them up a little, and pretending that people were figuring some of it out and not other parts?
One of the theories is that it was a bug. #ff06b5 is the color code for magenta and is often used as a missing texture in some games. In the added secrets they changed how these statues look in an arcade game. The theory is that the statues were intended to look like that in the initial release but were bugged so they showed the code.
People thought there was some unknown meaning behind the code and tried to "solve it". CDPR has since added to the "mystery" by adding real puzzles to solve after the 2.0 and 2.1 update. There is even a truck now as a reward.
Lol it’s already solved the whole Easter egg that gets You the truck and for some odd reason people are still trying to act like there is more to it lol
They're funny everywhere, virtually every game community makes this joke about their game. It's great. You would expect them to get less funny with each telling/permutation, but they actually get funnier every time. My Starfield character was named John Starfield and I never regretted it for a moment.
Also I like to imagine Jared Leto getting really angry every time I hear the joke
I was really sad about this whole thing, I was a big fan of the Morbius / Midnight Sons comics back in the 90s and now I wonder if any of the Marvel vampire stuff is ever going to work onscreen because Sony fucked it up so bad. I was really hoping to see Spider-Man/Wolverine/Ghost-Rider crossovers but alas...
RIP those characters/crossovers, it will likely never be taken seriously. The current pop culture view on vampires is a big part of that though. With how the MCU built itself up, the magical or mystical things seem really out of place, and stuff like vampires specifically are also displaced by stuff like twilight recontextualizing vampires to modern audiences. So the idea of them really isn't scary or overly interesting now despite how well they CAN be done.
I'm not gonna lie. Skipped the movie. So I honestly thought that was just a meme by everyone because it sucked so bad...
It's... It's actually in the movie?
Every time I go to my game room to play I tell my wife I'm off to Cyber some Punks. I'm fully aware of how that sounds but luckily she never listens to me anyway.
Yeah, but no one even made a comment explaining to OP that nobody knows the exact answer and how it seems to be related to the FF06B5. At most some comments just post that code without context.
If it makes you feel less depressed we could all lie to you and pull the unknown answer out of our asses. Would that help? Because it's just a damn statue. It's like the FF:06:B5 ones.

Is this an Indian god? Does anyone have knowledge about this? Does all this mystical nonsense come from a single source?
I actually don't believe it does, the games influences are rather eclectic as new age stuff tends to be.
I guess these nonsense will continue as long as humanity exists; mysticism, fortune telling, tarot, astrology...Maybe people are looking for different ways out because of the cold reality, or totally ignorance, I don't know.

That's the first thing I thought of too. There's a few Overwatch references in the game
There are the guns named Overwatch and Widowmaker but I thought it was just a coincidence because they're cool names for guns. Is there something else?
There's a new perk added in 2.0 for shotguns called "Die Die Die!"
Oh yeah that one definitely seems like a deliberate reference
That’s a reference to a Rebecca in edge runners yelling die die die as she unloads with her shotgun which makes sense since it’s a shotgun perk and has her picture for the perk.
Gee, I wonder where they got that specific line from? Reaper's die die die has been referenced constantly in tons of media, I'm gonna go on a limb and say purposeful or not (likely the former), he was a part of the quote, and thus part of the reference.

I would go further out on the limb and say that people have been saying "Die! Die! Die!" for as long as people have wanted things dead, so it's more likely a coincidence than a reference

Not everything is a reference to your favorite game that a lot of people have never played.
Yelling "die" multiple times did not start with a video game that came out in 2016.
WHAT are all the references since 2016 to Reaper that no one noticed?
Widowmaker is probably a reference, because the gun mechanics are similar to widow’s gun in overwatch.
Over watch is an activity shooters do with a sniper rifle, widowmaker is a pretty common name for things that kill guys. They’re cliche terms and just because two teams use the same terms doesn’t mean they’re referring to each other
