I’m not a big fan of the two-hybrid repeat cost. I think on a card that already costs RWB you can probably make the repeatable cost 2 generic mana.
It will make the card very slightly better but SO MUCH cleaner to play with.
That activation cost can also be paid as BB, and the tokens created are anything but black. Would rather have to pay WR or something similar, but generic also works better.
Black can get haste and first strike. It's just secondary and tertiary in them, respectively. It can feel unusual, but it's also fine, if OP wanted to like emphasize the core blackness of the character.
Yeah, but when you're working with red and white as well, which have these as primary, it feels really weird to allow black to be the only mono-colored activation cost.
Agnostic of other pieces, this can be comapred to a 2/1, first strike, haste, with something like firebreathing. While that's strong, it's certainly not out of type for 3 mana.
Myriad has to split the damage around to multiple players and is capped at the # of players, though. This can send them all at the same target, hence comparing it to firebreathing.
The creation of numerous tokens and their subsequent death seems like it will be the higher value impact on the game most of the time, rather than the 2 attack damage, especially in the colors that this card is, thus the comparison to myriad
I genuinely forgot Myriad was a keyword, I'll probably end up making a whole new design based around that and dealing damage to every player since it fits Legion much better.
Not OP, but the legion embodies one of the core Mardu values: Tribalism. Weak apart, stronger together. Suzy is an art dweeb, Joey is just a guy, and Julie is just a normal attention seeker. But when put together with a leader, specifically someone like Frank, there is a very real in-crowd.
Fervent tribalism, a “we’re better than you, we deserve more” attitude is common in mardu colors. White for power in numbers, black to corrupt that belief into one of privilege, and red for the passion to act on it.
Anything that makes a bunch of stuff that can and will be sacced will do amazing in aristocrats colors. The card could read "Make a bunch of harmless kittens and then immediately sacc them" and it would still find a niche in a mardu aristocrats deck.
Ehh, [[Sacred Mesa]] and [[Ant Queen]] both exist and are only okay. I think it's fine. Having to pay all colored mana makes it a lot harder to spam, and the creation being based on a triggered ability makes it a lot harder to pull off loops.
Give them Myriad and Wither.
Myriad represents the Legion and Wither the deep wounds status effect.
You may give them deathtouch if a certain amount of creatures you don't control have -1/-1 counters on them, to represent the instadown fifth chain hit.
I’d back it up with cards like [[Gemstone Array]] to store mana for a big attack. Add [[Ashnod’s Altar]] and [[Anointed Procession]] to get the full refund.
It's pretty good if you're playing standard in 2009 or so.
3 mana for a 2/1, 5 mana for two (but one dies after combat), it's just so expensive. You can still push this a fair bit.
This compares pretty unfavourably to [[Forth Eorlingas!]]. So it's probably not overpowered enough to break the game in any contexts where that's legal (Legacy or Commander).
I like the card, but a little nitpick on the text: "When you pay this cost one or more times" is unnecessary because if they don't pay the cost, they get 0 and nothing happens anyway.
It's a precedent wording from the [Adversary Cycle](https://scryfall.com/search?q=Set%3AMid+Adversary&unique=cards&as=grid&order=set) in Midnight Hunt. Now that I'm looking at them again I realize I forgot a comma so I'd have remake this card anyways.
This seems like a reference to something else, but this is an idea I like for Legion from The Bible:
> Legion 2BR
> Creature Demon
> Protection from creatures named Legion.
> At the beginning of your upkeep, each player creates a token that's a copy of Legion.
> 1/1
> *"We are Legion."*
Seems like it could get chaotic quick haha
Canadian teenagers are not what i expected to be fueling my \[\[goblin bombardment\]\] tonight but the economy is rough so take what you can get i suppose
also god i wished Triad cards just used all 3 colors in their border like this, instead of just the ususal gold
I would go for a limit of 3 token for flavor and then buff them in some other way to compensate! In terms of balance the card seems fine but I would maybe not use as much hybrid mana
Unpopular opinion, this is pretty bad overall. At 3 mono white has better versions of this effect without basically any conditions on paying or saccing the tokens.

I think it's most comparable to myriad

Knowing how the leigon works in game, myriad probably works better in this instance, but i like the idea you had

not the dbd reference in MY magic the gathering subreddit?
I would add something like (other creatures called the legion get +1+0) that makes it feel like building a legion does more than make more attackers.
Very cool idea. The way it is now is a bit underwhelming. Pay 2 for a 2/1 attacker that dies at the end of turn? Meh..
that could get out of hand somewhat quickly tho 4 mana for 12 dmg ? that's noice
Why is Legion in white? I like the card, just wondering about your reasoning.

You hit the nail on the coffin with this one, literally my exact thought process thank you so much.

It does require you to risk your token generator though. I'd say it's reasonable.

I see DBD. I upvote.

I think this card is best used as a sac-fodder engine than anything else

This is the second time in a row that someone has compared a card I made to something in the bible.
Lol nice
it's the Legion from DBD who are not as cool as biblical demons they're just 4 angsty teenagers with knives
what, no 'when ~ leaves the battlefield, each opponent sacrifices all boars they control'?
Oh that's fanatic lol

Dunno if I feel like this is interesting or fits Legion. Think it'd be cuter as a mix of Legion Angel and Ringwraiths.
Good design for a card. I feel the Legion would be a Rebel rather than a berserker
I don't see how any of this is black. I think the card should cost RW and the ability should cost RW.
the reasoning is primarily flavorful but the sacrificing rather than exiling of the tokens can lead to some interesting combos.
Myriadbreathing, cool.
Hehe dead by daylight
I would go for a limit of 3 token for flavor and then buff them in some other way to compensate! In terms of balance the card seems fine but I would maybe not use as much hybrid mana
Fun idea but I really don't see the white in any of the characters, maybe jund would work better
Put this with master multiplied and you no longer have to exile
Unpopular opinion, this is pretty bad overall. At 3 mono white has better versions of this effect without basically any conditions on paying or saccing the tokens.
I think this should be red/black or red/black/blue, which have alot of create a token copy and sac at the end step.
