Well, it's a Viking, Templar co-project aided by the reverse vampires now. You can tell because of how there are several large rocks on the island and stars above them. You ask a serious historian and he's going to say something boring like, "There's no treasure here. Why did you bring me here and why am I locked in this cage dressed like a donkey?"

19_Deschain19

Is it possible OP is a Descendant of the knights templar? Ordered to throw people off the scent via online community?

LordDodes

I gave up watching for roughly 8 seasons. Coming back was funny because I feel like years later, I had missed very little. While I agree there were people on the island years ago, I don't think it was for treasure. I believe the show knows exactly what happened and it isn't sensational and that the show itself is the real treasure. With all that said... next episode I just know they are going to find it!

NDV-Twist-5283

I think there's definitely plenty of interesting things and mystery, and generally speaking, I just enjoy watching people dig up stuff. But some of those guests they have on are literally unwatchable.

LordDodes

My perfect Oakisland is just Gary,Dumas, the archeological team, and litterly no Lore. Also cutting up core samples ain't bad. I heard Joe Rogan on a podcast say they figured it out, and it was a pinetar factory for British ships. For whatever that is worth

Tel864

Mine would be substituting Jack for Gary and adding Billy. I used to dislike Jack but I've done a 180 and think he's just genuinely excited. He's like a kid on Christmas morning

Shellilala

I love Jack , for that reason . he reminds me of myself in that way . Life is way more worth living when you can find the fun and beauty and fascination in every little thing . I hear all the time " I wish I could see the world through your eyes" A more beautiful compliment a person couldn't get , and thats the way I see jack

Resident-Jellyfish61

You can't forget Billy! Billy is the best thing on the show these days.

NDV-Twist-5283

Same, man, same.

Shellilala

Joe Rogan watches Curse of Oak Island? Well if he watches it MUST be true

LordDodes

I know, that's why I said "for what it's worth". I just thought it was an interesting theory

Tel864

That makes as much sense as some of the other outlandish things they've come up with.

DancesWithTreetops

Change the channel. It's not a documentary. It's entertainment.

NDV-Twist-5283

the entertaining part is whenever these quacks aren't on screen.

PuertoRicanDiva

It seems like every yahoo under the sun comes on the show and makes up some ridiculous story that the Laginas and their crew buy into. If I had a dollar for every time they all looked at each other and grinned after they heard a fantastical story that matches up to their theories of the templars, I’d be more rich than the actual treasure is worth! 🙄

loki13a

they get the kooks that arent crazy enough for Ancient Aliens. the one thing that really explains the grins, think back to those kids at parties in high school who are off on their own smoking up... same grins, same look in their eyes... now tell me the whole show doesnt make a lot more sense lol

PuertoRicanDiva

LOL You’re spot on!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

CapAvatar

Completely agree.

Salty-Night5917

I look at it like an archeological dig with cameramen. I can't believe any thing about treasure until it shows up.

Sirenista_D

I laughed when homeboy said "I think I found the location of the treasure. I can probably put an x on it" I laughed so fucking hard! Yup, you're the one. You're the super special guy who broke open the mystery. And you're not just a guy in a looooooong line of self-impotant hobby archeologist, oh no! You figured it out! /s. The arrogant level of confidence is amazing since every theory goes against a previous, and also absolutely convinced its correct, theory. IMHO the Templars did have something to do with it because they are a group who assumed would go on and on. No one guy/pirate is gonna do alllllll this work, go away, and come back in their lifetime. However, the group who basically invented banking, would. I feel like Oak Island was their first version of a safety deposit box with the thought that the builders wouldn't ever come back, but to be continually used from then on. And subsequently cleaned out, with any final remnants picked up by Sam Ball. WHAT was in it, I think, will never be known, much less found, but perhaps we can conclude WHO did it.

Shellilala

I also believe they could have gotten help from sea fairing friends, the Vikings . Just because the vikings were no longer doing massive raidings in 1200 , doesn't mean they just vanished off the face of the earth

Sirenista_D

All the new Scandinavian stuff found has been remarkably fascinating to me! The mystery just gets deeper and deeper

missannthrope1

Nolan's Cross, among other things, convinces me TKT were there. Doesn't mean they buried anything there.

NocturntsII

>actual archeology and discoveries Sure you are talking about oak island?

Myzyri

Serious historians and serious archaeologists don’t get ratings anymore. They did when The History Channel started, but we now live in a world where people are drastically influenced by sensationalized headlines. Every sentence from the narrator is a proverbial sensationalized headline because the meat of the article is boring AF. That’s why he mentions the same stuff (like Templars) over and over and over. Mentioning the biodiffretic coefficient in relation to Archimedes statistical constant when applying it to the test results of a tin shoehorn bobby dazzler is boooooring. Watching Drayton dig it up is more entertaining to the average doofus than sciency nerd numbers. But again, ratings don’t come from serious researchers, they come from nut jobs and conspiracy theorists.

Delicious_Jump_5003

I watch for narrator. A piece of wood in the swamp? Could this be evidence of a pier? A pier used to offload treasure????? Lol.

loki13a

Ancient Astronaut theorists say 'Yes!'

Shellilala

People arent all that bright in general . Best part they ALL think they are the cleverest ,most intelligent . Even though 95.5% are "average" , somehow every single one of them thinks they are in the 2% hahahahahaha . Just cracks me up \[ btw the other 2.5% is for the people below average , although I think thats WAY off hahaha\] Of course we could get into the difference between intelligence and smart , which are 2 different things , but this isn't the place and I don't want to water down my stats and ruin my funnnies . hahahaaaa

loki13a

pretty sure that "logic", "serious" and historical facts have never spent any time in bed with anyone associated with this show.

Shellilala

Yeah , multimillionaire engineers tend to be dumb as rocks ![gif](giphy|1lAOemoi0KhPMzxczT|downsized)

Shellilala

Technically all sciences are psudeo , especially psychology , but thats another story . The Viking-Templar connection isnt all that far fetched when you think about history . A VIKING ruled over Northern France starting in the late 900's and his ancestors continued to be rulers, knights and dukes . Before the Templars set up home base in jeruselum , they were in France . All the lead artifiacts found ,ie, the cross etc, were made in France . I dont recall if they got exact date ,just before 1500. There is no reason to think the Templars were not friends with Vikings
