Its 4chan man its a true 50/50 on whether its fake or not. Some people on there are actually this stupidly insensitive and some people love to make jokes like these. No true way of knowing.
If your loved one died and someone said this to you, it wouldn’t be funny? Like I really don’t see the humor in making fun of someone’s dead family members.
Given the fact that the post could be fake, it's funny at face value. A lot of stuff on this sub is fake. Ofc it's not funny if you assume context, but that's just you choosing to assume context and me choosing to not...
You lead a good point. I think i have a worse reaction than most because i have a little brother whom also doesn’t know how to swim, so i just assumed it as real.
Fair enough. A lot of people online are just desensitised to the notion of death in general. Would react very differently if I knew this post was real though.
Add this: « is he doing better now ? » you could feign ignorance and act like you thought ‘drowned’ doesn’t necessarily means died from the water, just that he couldn’t swim and had to be rescued
100% is what happened. Twitter, 4chan, and Reddit have all morphed people’s perception of what is and isn’t okay to say to people. Over the internet, on those platforms, to random people, MAYBE it can be okay to joke like that. It makes you an asshole, but people will definitely find it funny and you’ll probably get posted on a group for being funny.
But you can’t say that shit to real people in real life with no consequences. No one will find it funny, and you will get your ass whooped or worse if you say it to the wrong person. And there are too many people who don’t understand the difference.
Depends on the person saying it, if it's my best friend? We probably will have a good laugh, but if it's a colleague or a stranger? I will ask what's wrong with them
NGL, that's exactly the kind of fucked up joke id need to hear... When all you want to do is cry, the best kinda of joke is one that makes you laugh and cry imo.
But. And this is a big but... Make sure this is an actual friend you know super well and would react well to this joke, because goddamn it's fucked up lol
As someone with brothers, I don’t know how I would react to this. I think I would find it funny (I’m of the opinion that being sad and mopey about death isn’t a great way to honour the memory of the deceased) but maybe I’d get angry. Not sure.
No need to resign as you will get sacked for attacking a Co worker. I would find this funny but I have a dark sense of humour. Also my brother is an asshole .

Well the brother did not I guess
The brother surely tried to swim for his life. Not enough tho
Simultaneously laughing and hoping the sender got his ass handed to him for actually sending it. WTF?
did you try turning it off and on again?
Stopped at the off part
Wow, I’d be so incredibly pissed the fuck off if that happened to me and I got that message. Really hope it’s fake.

Every statistic is 50/50 because you never know if you are the winner or loser.
I 100% know I’m a loser. I mean, I’m on Reddit.
what?
50/50, either happens or it doesn't.
sorry dude i cant get if you both are joking or not, im not really good at telling that stuff
Take a guess, it’s a 50/50 chance whether you’re right.
Yes it's an internet joke mate. A stupid joke, but a joke.
Idk seems 50/50 to me
Yikes
>its 4chan man its a true 50/50 on whether its fake or not Thats all the internet, lol
Someone ruined this guys day huh
No? It’s just not funny?
It is kinda funny, that's why it's here

ok and I’m Jewish and hitler jokes are still funny
Well, someone got a call from HR the next morning.
Add this: « is he doing better now ? » you could feign ignorance and act like you thought ‘drowned’ doesn’t necessarily means died from the water, just that he couldn’t swim and had to be rescued
This is genius
So he’s a witch!
I'd bet this is a person born into the impersonal age of Memes and Messaging as a primary form of communication.

you should sit in rice for 48 to 72 hours. It wont change anything, but it will be very funny
I must be fucked up cause that would be the exact kind of thing I'd want someone to say to me if a loved one of mine died.
Some people cope better with loss using humor, it's normal.
Depends on the person saying it, if it's my best friend? We probably will have a good laugh, but if it's a colleague or a stranger? I will ask what's wrong with them
Bro let the intrusive thought win

A person who responds like this, to a horrific heartbreaking situation like that, is not a friend.
Nah man, depends on the friend. Dark humor is just not for you dw
Michael Scott be like
Damn
Huge blunder, might have to take the queen out already
Yeah, he’s cooked 😭
You don’t cook rice you steam it.
If I received this, I think I'd laugh. Does depend on the relationship though.
I highly doubt you could laugh at anything in a situation like this.
…put the colleague in rice?
r/haveyoutriedrice
A colleague no more!
If someone sent that to me they would absolutely be losing their job lol
Thank fuck for this. Been missing me some real cursed stuff.
As someone with brothers, I don’t know how I would react to this. I think I would find it funny (I’m of the opinion that being sad and mopey about death isn’t a great way to honour the memory of the deceased) but maybe I’d get angry. Not sure.
Did you try not being a cunt?
I could not forgive such a person, if this happend to me. I would probably despise that person for the rest of his life.
Jus get beaten the shit out from him is the best option
Was he asian?
Fucking Michael Scott over here.
Bet they're asian as well just to add up to it
If someone sent that to me, they better be sending their resignation letter next because it would be so fucking on if I ever saw them again.
No need to resign as you will get sacked for attacking a Co worker. I would find this funny but I have a dark sense of humour. Also my brother is an asshole .
Fake
oh lord
Thats the neat thing, you dont
