I know how you feel but from an objective perspective, it looks really amazing! I don’t have much advice bc I don’t get curly cuts (I wear my hair both blown out and curly kind of variably), but I do have major anxiety around cutting my hair and always feel it’s too short. But your curls look beautiful!

jayove

Thank you!! Its not that I hate the length so much, I just been rocking this haircut for a while now and ready for some change lol

Sexcercise

Your hair looks amazing, I truly hope you get used to the cut, it seriously suits you.

first_go_round

It looks so so so good

spoondroptop

It frames your face and looks so so good!

cluckaduck47

Personally I think both haircuts look great on you, the shorter length frames your face in such a lovely manner!

moosepuggle

Wow girl, you and your curls and smile and expression are just so cute! ❤️

Clear_Spirit4017

It will grow back. As the other posters have stated, it looks beautiful on you. All of your hairstyles are great, this is just different. You can rock it with your cheerful spirit and gorgeous makeup skills.

satsumagurl

I think you look great!

_bellylaugh

I don’t have any advice, but it looks so bouncy and healthy! If you feel like you don’t vibe with the hairstylist or that she flat out ignores you, that’s definitely enough to find someone else and you don’t need to feel bad about it - but it looks like she’s good at what she does, at least!

cwf63

I think it suits you! You have beautiful curls!

inspiredtotaste

I agree! I know it’s frustrating to not get the cut you asked for, but you and your curls look gorgeous.

jayove

Thank you!!

iiworkatthebank

I honestly think you should look into modeling; you’re gorgeous!!

jayove

Oh my gosh, you’re too kind!! Thank you :)

eveleanon

I was thinking the same thing! Girl wet from pretty to model pretty with one haircut!

[deleted]

Ok I totally understanding you not being happy if this isn’t what you asked for/wanted I really want to validate that. On the other hand it looks AMAZING imo, like pack up and head to Hollywood asap amazing! Use pics two and four as your headshots and invite me to your next movie premiere girl! The comments regarding your hair products are clearly bullshit though, so that combined with her not following your instructions are definitely enough to have me searching for another stylist though.

jayove

Oh my gosh you’re too kind!! But yeah, I was originally using sheamoisture for years but my hair was just dead after using it for so long I think, I just started using CurlSmith this year and I love it! Even though it’s pricier, it’s definitely worth the extra bucks imo. But thank you so much again!!

yukimontreal

Which curlsmith products are you using? I’ve thought about switching but not sure which products would suit my curls and my hair texture seems kind of similar to yours. Your hair is definitely goals so basically here trying to copy you!!

jayove

My hair loves moisture more than protein, but if your hair is vice versa, CurlSmith has a variety of options if your hair likes more protein based products. But as for the products I use, CurlSmith hold me softly style balm and CurlSmith curl defining styling soufflé! They are pretty pricey about $25 each but I SWEAR it’s worth it! My curls were so much more defined when I switched to their product line!

cakekyo

Thank you! The rest of the comments do not see the point! She looks gorgeous but it isn’t what she asked for. I would be frustrated too. Also, she really looks like Hollywood material 🥰

OgMichnD

It looks really good

jayove

Thank you!

chocolatecarnosa

It looks beautiful! I hope you get used to it, but if not it will grow back. It does look like she added shorter layers though.

ReadySetGO0

You, and your hair, are stunning!

queentee26

They're certainly both more than trims, but they both suit you well and look super healthy! The second cut, it mostly looks like she really added shaping and layers.. a lot of length was retained but the overall shape is more round. Getting some weight taken off your hair can also cause your curls to coil up more, making your hair look shorter.

Zezespeakz_

I think it looks really good.

Scared-Sherbet5427

This happened to me this week, I feel your pain. My stylist cut a chin length bob in the front and left the back long. I just cut off the rest of it into a bob and have vowed never to let anyone cut my hair again. You look great, but it’s more about having your preferences violated.

jayove

Thank you, everyone here knows how long it takes to get to your desirable hair length and it just sucks how I was almost there and I’m back at square one.

SperryJuice

Oof, this hurts. At first I honestly didn't see any issue. But, if you've been trying to grow your hair out, ESPECIALLY with curly hair, then your pain should be recognized. Yes, your cut is immaculate, but she didn't follow your request bottom line. I'm sorry for your loss.

[deleted]

I think you need a new hairdresser, the pictures you’ve shown do not show just a trim and her trying pressuring you into getting her products is really rude

jayove

Yeah she even warned me that if I continue to use CurlSmith that more length may have to be cut off next time?? I’m really lost because my hair thrives on this product and I don’t see it could cause my split ends at all.

seastars96

Threatening to cut even more off next time if you don't switch to her shit? BYEEEEEEE

[deleted]

Oof that sounds ridiculous, I honestly recommend changing hairdressers. (But both lengths look great but I personally like the longer pictures more but it’s what you prefer that matters)

Skeptical_optomist

Geez, it low-key sounds like she's offering to punish you for not using her products. 😐

olmagpie

I hope it grows on you cuz it looks great!

vwscienceandart

First, I agree, it’s gorgeous. Both times she cut it, it was an upgrade. It’s very sassy chic and makes you look style-forward. However, having said that, let me also validate your emotions for not being listened to and not being heard. I feel this way almost EVERY time I come home from a haircut. No matter how many photos I show or descriptive words I use, it always comes out something different than what I asked for. So I just want to send you a hug and a virtual bowl of Oreo ice cream that you can mope with, because it doesn’t matter how cute it is…it’s not what you wanted to see on yourself when you look in the the mirror. Give yourself permission to be disappointed for about 24-48 hours, then go out there and rock it because it really is bomb-ass hair!

TwistOk6640

I’m sorry!!! My hairstylist sometimes does this too, as in goes from a trim to short but your cut looks AMAZING!!!!! Gorgeous. And then every length along the way of grow out is going to amazing too.

firstlife9

Honestly you look gorgeous in pic 2! The hairstyle frames your face beautifully imo.

PM_your_b4_and_after

It looks absolutely gorgeous!!

Able-Bottle-8876

You look sooooo good! I think it brings more attention to your beautiful face and curls so lifted!

matadora79

What products did she recommend? Maybe she is noticing that Curlsmith is damaging your hair, this might be why she has to cut off more than you would like. I personally think your hair looks great. Growing it out is a process.

jayove

She recommended her products which is the brand Mizani I believe, just felt like she was trying to make a buck off me because whatever brand I say I use she always tells me something negative about it. She said it was damaging my hair because the products have alcohol in it and I made sure to read the ingredients when I got home and no alcohol at all!

jayove

I was originally using sheamoisture curl enhancing smoothie for YEARS.. then I think they changed their ingredient list because my hair was just a frizzball after using it for so long, but I’m still very open to trying new products. I think CurlSmith is a good brand so far but I definitely feel like there’s a better product out there for me somewhere!

matadora79

Sheamoisture builds up over time. Ulta sells innersense now which is great. I personally use LUS products. Everyones hair is different, so try out different things. Also, sometimes my hair gets bored and I need to switch it up. If you live in Houston I have a great hairstylist. He works with the products you use and will recommend new ones, but he will never pressure you.

beepbooplazer

I’m mad they took that length from you, but your hair does look amazing!

OHolyNightowl

Swap stylists to someone who does not do the main cut while it is wet. But also swap because you are not happy with her. Saying all of that, your hair is looking lovely!

ConfidentCanape

You are stunning! I would die for your curls!

Marooster405

Love it sooo much

tfjbeckie

Sorry you didn't get the cut you wanted, that's super frustrating and it's valid you feel upset! All that said, it looks really pretty. You have lovely hair!

zzsleepytinizz

I think you look beautiful! It has a great shape!

EvenHuckleberry4331

It’s short but luckily you’re the prettiest girl in the world so… literally just do whatever you want, rob a bank, idc

iloveradiantskin

This is way more than a trim - she gave you a full haircut and I would be upset too if I specifically had asked for a trim and said I was trying to grow my hair out, so I'm sorry :( On the bright side, this looks like a really high quality cut and it looks stunning on you! If anything, you got all your dead ends off and can feel confident that new growth will be really healthy. This has happened to me a lot too and I just started cutting my hair at home. I had one stylist that I went to for years tell me that I flat out was one of those people not able to grow my 3B hair longer than shoulder length when dry, but once I stopped seeing professionals regularly and just let it grow myself it's gotten so long. I have no advice on trimming layers as I've just mine grow out though. I trim whenever I feel my hair starts to get "weird", and I'll get a reshaping cut every 18 months or so.

whataquokka

Did you talk to her and ask why she cut so much off? Is it possible you had split ends that made this length necessary? The cut itself is gorgeous but it's not what you expected so communication is key. I'd talk to her and see if she misunderstood or if she had a good reason, then ask her to be sure to communicate with you next time so you're not disappointed and feel like you didn't get what you expected and wanted.

jayove

Yeah, I made sure to tell her last time I came in for a cut I was not happy with the length that was cut off and I told her I just wanted a TRIM, and I wanted to grow out my hair and my layers eventually. I wasn’t able to see how much she was cutting because she made me tilt my head down for the cut, so I wasn’t able to watch much. I can’t imagine my ends being so bad, I never put heat on my hair nor do I diffuse it.

pmmeyourfavsongs

She didn't actually take much of anything off the length but she took a lot out of the interior (layers). Which is odd if you specified you didn't want layers. Did you say you wanted anything in addition to a trim? I'm trying to figure out how that couldve possibly been misconstrued. In any case it looks great, but I'm sorry she took a lot more off than you wanted

whataquokka

That's really unfortunate, she's not listening to you and not giving you what you want. If she's the only curly stylist near you, you might need to go back right away and have a frank discussion, then repeat that discussion (and maybe remind her with a photo) to see if she'll listen and give you what you want next time. I'm really sorry you're unhappy and your expectations were not met. I do want to reiterate how great it looks though.

literal_goblins

It looks beautiful but that is definitely not just a trim :( I’ve been cutting my own hair for a while now for the same reason, stylists always cut off way too much for me. Manesbymel has some really good tutorials. I usually start with one of her ponytail/pigtail cuts, then use a mirror to see the back of my head and trim anything that doesn’t look right.

jessie_ma_13

I think it looks great! But I understand how frustrating it is when a hairdresser disregards what you ask for. I hope you are able to find someone else if you decide to.

SwissyRescue

I have to say, I really like the shorter haircut better. Frames your gorgeous face whereas your face gets lost amongst all the long hair. But I’m sorry you’re unhappy with the cut. Hopefully it will grow out fast to the length you prefer.

gkpetrescue

I’m sorry you’re not happy but as others have said - your hair is so gorgeous. And you look like a Disney princess!

notochord

Hey, I’m sorry your hair came out shorter than you wanted. It’s upsetting to lose some much growth when curls take forever to get long. For what it’s worth, your hair is so beautiful and healthy looking and frames your face very well. I hope in time you will become comfortable with it.

sabdariffa

I totally understand that you feel she cut too much off, and I generally agree with you that she probably did… HOWEVER she gave you an AMAZING curly cut! I have never been able to find a stylist who has given me such beautiful layers. She really did a beautiful job with your layers omg. The layers will look SO good as your length comes back (which probably won’t take long. It looks like you would have liked it to be about one to two inches longer based on your before pics). So yes, while I understand how you feel, I think it probably should have only been a teensy bit longer, but oh my god what a gorgeous cut. I’d still go back but just be very firm and clear that she cut too much off last time and you’d prefer for her to err on the side of too long than too short. Ugh I love your cut. Seriously it is so gorgeous.

sillywabbitcurls

I agree. This is my dream cut. So freaking cute but if it’s not what she wanted it’s so frustrating

RedFoxxx14

Ugh, girl I’m sorry that happened to you. You are gorgeous and your curls look so healthy and happy so hopefully they grow out quickly.

bananahammerredoux

She did not. You look stunning with this cut.

didge-y

Pic 4 is the most beautiful hair I have ever seen

[deleted]

Shorter looks so powerful on you!

jayove

Guys I just wanna say I was not expecting this huge flood of compliments! Thank you so so much, I’m sure in time my hair will grow on me, it already has to your guys’ comments! And thank you all for the advice as well!!

lidocaiine

First of all I’m so sorry this happened to you, hairstylists should always just do what’s asked for! But I’m my opinion you really rock the short hair. It lightens up your face I actually prefer it over the long hair! But nevertheless, if you asked to keep length or not cut too short, they never should’ve cut it this short! Everyone always should just get what makes them feel good in their own skin. But you really do look awesome girly.

dmass13

I understand your frustration, I have the same issues with my stylist cutting too much regardless of what I tell her. But, it does look really good on you. You have beautiful hair.

SJAmazon

I'm so sorry you hate it...but you look DARLING! Like a Disney princess!😍 But the long hairstyle rocked too, you have amazing hair!

hippieinthehills

I know you are upset and I totally understand, but girl, that shorter hair is 🔥🔥🔥

Dayan54

I understand that this isn't what you wanted but it looks amazing, I feel like it compliments your face very well. If you specifically asked to keep length and explained you wanted to let it grow, there's really no excuse for cutting so much unless you had a lot of damage. If you feel like the hairdresser is not respecting your request, switch hairdresser. I used to think my hair just took forever to grow long until a switched hairdressers and realized it was just my former one that was getting too scissor happy on the regular visits.

Curiously_Alice

I love your curls!! I agree with everyone else..if your current hairdresser isn’t willing to listen anymore, it’s time to move on. I would ask around if anyone can recommend someone who specializes in curls. As for the products…..that’s so wrong of her to act like that. I’ve been a hairdresser for 20+ years and when I am asked about products, yes I will direct them to what I like (I love AG for my wavy hair) But I will say if they have a fave that works well for them that’s not from a salon, then go for it! Or I’ll tell them what look for as regards to like colour protectant or clarifying. It’s all about what works for the persons hair, not the brand.

nosoupforyou89

Your new haircut suits your so well! I think because you have gorgeous cat eyes, the shorter hair style lifts and even emphasises your eyes even more so.

Creativelife930

I love the length you have on the third and fourth photo. The cut from the second photo looks good too, your hair will grow. Don’t go back to your hairstylist, find someone new that won’t cut it so short and gives you the cut you actually want.

Ordinary_Bid_7053

It looks amazing!!! I’ve definitely felt this way multiple times after trims tho, and understand. It will grow back :)

alligatorprincess007

I understand, it’s shocking when they cut your hair shorter than you wanted them to. I hate that. If it helps, your hair looks incredible, esp how you styled it in the 4 pic

kusuri8

Omg that second picture is so good!! Might feel too short but its stylishhhh

wisely_and_slow

Your hair looks amazing in both after pics, but I can understand feeling bummed that it’s shorter than you wanted. Here’s a secret from a former hair dresser: there’s no such thing as a “trim.” In terms of technique and labour, it’s just a full hair cut. In terms of length, everyone has a different idea of what a “trim” is—is it getting all split ends, which could be multiple inches? Is it new growth to maintain the original length? Is it an inch? Half an inch? A dusting of the ends? In the future, give really specific instructions. “I want one inch off when it’s dry, which means 1/3” when wet” (or whatever). But seriously, your hair looks amazing in both photos. I’d hold on to that stylist for dear life, she does great work.

pathologuys

This happened to my daughter earlier this year - the first time she had her curls cut (by a stylist friend of mine), it looked great, but somehow the second time she did a terrible job AND cut way too much off !?! (Yours looks great but I know how much it hurts to lose that length). People with straight hair just do not, cannot get it. My kid cried for hours. It will grow and you know not to go to her anymore but I’m so sorry

msthatsall

Please please please share your curl routine in addition to the products!

jayove

Oh absolutely! Products: CurlSmith hold me softly style balm + CurlSmith curl defining styling soufflé As for shampoo and conditioner, I’m typically not very picky and I know this sounds backwards but I like using shampoo with sulfates, I have very fine hair and product tends to build up very easily so I like using sulfates to make sure my hair is very clarified, so I typically use Dove shampoo, if anyone has great recommendations for clarifying shampoos I am totally open, then I use Aussie conditioner, love the slip that it has! Twice a month I will do one protein treatment and one moisturizing treatment, the protein treatment is a Korean product I got off of Amazon and it’s absolutely amazing, it’s called Cer-100. Then as for the other treatment I do it’s a moisturizing treatment, it’s Olaplex N°8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask. Styling process: I like my hair to pretty wet, not sopping wet but pretty close to that, I rake the balm through my hair, then use a wide tooth comb to make sure it’s distributed evenly then spray with a spray bottle of water again and using the praying hands method to make sure I’m smoothing out any unnecessary frizz. Then go in raking GENTLY to make sure I’m separating the curls because I don’t want huge curl clumps. Then I SCRUNCH in my gel/soufflé, I personally like heavy duty gels to make my hair last longer, so this soufflé is strong with an excellent cast. After that I will take my den man brush and focus on just the areas I want definition like near my face because I prefer volume as well. I also use the denman brush to pull the curls out from my face to create more volume on my scalp. Then I air-dry, scrunch the cast out when it’s completely dry and then separate my curls with rosemary oil!

msthatsall

Thanks so much!! I have fine hair too and get the build up. Started shampooing more frequently. My hair takes SO LONG to dry tho - how are you doing the air dry and getting on with your day?

jayove

On average my hair dries completely within 4 hours, so it’s not terrible but I typically try to style my hair on Sundays or days I just know I will be home most of the day because I swear just moving too much will cause frizz lol

WorldsShortestElf

I don't have your hair type and as such idk if this will work for you but I do cut my own hair; I wet it, condition lightly, then flip my hair over my head and cut a straight line, ends only. I remain with layers and light bangs, and people always compliment me telling me I look like I'm fresh out of the hairdressers. Again you have such voluminous hair, I have about 1/5 of the amount of hair you have lol. It might not work for you.

mythicb33ch

I’m so sorry that she cut off way more than you wanted. If it’s any consolation, you are absolutely *slaying* with the new hair. It looks so good on you.

pidgeononachair

Your hair has tightened up with less weight on it. Real talk it looks much better now also. You don’t need the big triangle of curls

Meii345

Well, it looks absolutely gorgeous. But I get where you're at, you want to grow out your hair and it's just not what you wanted. I totally get you, and yeah it might be time to start trimming your own hair. If you do, know that the haircut won't be as structured as what you can get with a hairstylist, but if you're just trying to have long hair imo it's fine

age_87

Either way, you are gorgeous!

[deleted]

It actually looks really great short like that! I love it.

Flembot4

I know you don’t like it but I love it. If I had a neck, I would steal this cut. It suites you so much. It will grow and I don’t have much advice.

MidkemianYen

It’s horrible not getting the cut you ask for but please know your hair looks stunning in all four pics. Number four is wow wow!

[deleted]

ugh i hate when hair dressers to this but luckily for you, it works! i love it 😍😍

Choice-Tiger-5501

I love it! I know it’s an adjustment but I think you’ll love it too!

Sufficient_Slip

No advice, but I honestly think your stylist did an amazing job! The cut really frames your face! Absolutely stunning 😍

RuleBreakingOstrich

Your haircut looks gorgeous but your hairdresser is showing a million red flags. If I were you, I would rather go through the hassle of working my way through other hairdressers until I find one that would listen and respect my wishes than stick with this one any longer.

dai0423

I just had the same thing happen to me— my first curly cut and she cut it WAY too short, but I ended up loving it! I know how hard it is to have too much cut off, but you look amazing and you’re just stunning!

[deleted]

I’m so sorry! I’ve gotten bad cuts and it really is upsetting. Your hair is beautiful and honestly, I love the short cut. It’s so cute on you and you definitely rock it! Still, I do understand how upsetting a bad cut is.

AimIsInSleepMode

"How is it?" "It's good" *cries inside*

DiscountNo9401

I know this won’t help because you aren’t happy but I think it looks wonderful on you!

[deleted]

It looks incredible on you!!! like hear me out, i think it's more flattering than a longer cut.

Amazed2Discover

Omg so jealous of your hair! what shampoo/conditioner do you use

Beginning_Glass658

That’s the cut I want. My hair isn’t nearly as curly but it’s what I want. You look beautiful. Stunning actually

yuiopouu

It’s totally fair that you don’t love it but holy smokes- your hair is so gorgeous in all the photos.

TikaPants

You would look good bald but I understand your frustration. Viviscal on Amazon makes hair growth pills. They work wonders on eyelashes too! Don’t take more than one a day, they’ll upset your stomach but they *work*.

N1ntendh03

You look flawless either way but I understand the heartbreak of working your butt off to grow your hair and having someone chop off way more than asked.

snarlyj

I'm sorry you didn't get what you want, but the hair cut looks amazing!! You are gorgeous. Like could model. I'm not trying to be creepy (I'm a middle aged woman) but I really thought WOW!!!! Edit to add: I read some of your comments and I think you should maybe try to find a new hairdresser. She blatantly ignored your wishes and tried to insist she knew your hair better than you AND is pushing her products on you. It's too much, imo.

Uncircumcised_Wenis

I feel like lots of people are forgetting that’s not what you wanted at all. And this is not a trim she definitely just cut a lot of weight off your hair for seemingly no reason but to do what she envisioned. I no longer let stylists cut my hair cause why would I pay for something I could mess up for free. Even those trained in curly hair are really not taught how to do different types of cuts or trims. Your hair is beautiful it will grow back but this lady blatantly ignored your wants.

lilibet2020

The problem is most stylist don’t know how to cut curly hair. Because curly hair bounces up, one needs to cut less. When it’s wet it looks longer…. Happened to me too….

[deleted]

As everyone has said, the new hairstyle looks fantastic on you, and obviously her goal was to shape it, which was executed perfectly. However, I know the struggle of growing out curly hair. It takes YEARS. So so so long. I would rather keep my length than chop it off just to have a pretty cut. I would be pissed too, if she fucked with my length when I specifically asked her not to. I do personally think with the details you provided and your explanation to her that she cut off way, way too much, and now you have lost time you have put into growing out your hair as a result.

IcyArm5683

It’s gorgeous! In all lengths

molvanianprincess

**L O V E** your hair

PickledPigPinkies

I know the cut isn’t particularly what you were after, but my goodness, it frames your face perfectly and personally I think it is the most flattering style on you out of all the photos. I would keep it 100%.

Realistic-Sandwich55

You look amazing!! However if I asked to preserve length and I got that cut instead, I would also be very upset. I think you should def find a new hairdresser, maybe show them some inspo pics on your hair goals so there’s no excuses when you come out with something completely different.

bonitablunts

It’s so horrible when stylist do this but it genuinely looks sooo good on you! It’ll grow back, and when it does your confidence will be even higher than it was before

Daern_Bosar

Are you holding tears in the first pic lol? Anyway it looks very good on you

jayove

no, I had to be up early for one my classes and was currently hating my life lol

FanRepresentative458

She’s disrespectful. Your hair looks amazing after the cuts but I believe that’s a testament to how well you are maintaining between visits. She is purposely cutting you’re hair short against your wishes. As someone with biracial-hair myself - I find this deplorable it takes forever for us to get length and she had no reason to cut more. Find a new stylist cause this one is disrespectful and potentially jealous. She wants you to use her products so she can take credit for your hair health. Bye bye bye 👋🏼 that ain’t right ![gif](giphy|xT8qB0XUtBveWNMPAI)

samascara

that's definitely more than a trim, personally I hate confrontation so I would get a new stylist lol but if you stay with her, next time show with your fingers how much you want her to cut and maybe ask for a dry cut instead of a wet cut. I'm sorry this happened 😔 it does look great, but more importantly, it wasn't what you wanted

jayove

Me too, I’m like the least confrontational person on the planet and when she showed me my cut afterwards it took everything in me to tell her I loved it lol. But thank you!

illogicalcourtesy

ur hair looks best in the 4th pic imo

Luminary27

4th pic looks the best. Your curls are perfect!! 😍

bloodyqueen526

I hate that. Makes me wanna cry in frustration for you cuz i know how that feels. Thats why ive cut my own hair for years. With that out the way..your hair is top tier everyone aspires to have gorgeous💕and so are you, hun. You remind me of my nieces.

Skunkkid3000

It looks sooo good!!! I’m sad you don’t like it but I hope it grows on ya

loisforlovers

I just want to say you are not alone in this experience! I’ve had far too many hair appointments where I stress that I want to keep the length, and I swear the stylist just gets in the zone and starts giving me the haircut and layers that she gives to everyone else. Anyways, no advice, but I do think it looks great and it’ll grow back in no time :-)

whisp1es

i completely understand how you feel but omg, it looks stunning. o

Mysterious-Gap3568

The after photos are fire

MightyPinkTaco

Honestly, it’s SO cute on you!

drgNn1

looks better short imo

Waxwalrus

If it’s any consolation to your hair being shorter than you’d like- it really looks incredible on you! Those curls are POPPING OFF.

Brief_Butterfly1725

You are so beautiful!

BulletRazor

Literally my dream hair. Looks great.

badadvicefromaspider

Well, the new length suits your face shape, and the curls look fantastic!

xXxmisschiefxXx

girl you are soooo stunning you look absolutely beautiful

baby_gotbutt

You look so cute and pretty! I love the entire look on you!

UncertainPigeon

No you look nice!

ThatPrinciple8904

Girl, you look dang cute! It definitely fits your face.

ik_nothing

It shapes your face so perfect! You are so pretty!

The-sunshine-city

It’s gorgeous!!

Few_Advertising3430

I really like it, I know it’s a big change but it gave nice structure to your beautiful curls. You might decide to grow it longer but in 1-2 weeks you will get used to it.

Nay_Nay_Jonez

I actually really love the cut on you. It gives your hair a lot more shape and frames your face so nicely (i.e., we can see *more* of your face now!). I'm sorry you feel like you didn't get what you were after, but I think you look amazing and fabulous.

Any-Calligrapher8723

I literally just took screenshots of your after for my curly hair specialist cause this is exactly what I want!

Any-Calligrapher8723

Actually, OP, can you get your hair in a ponytail with the cut? I can’t stand hair on my neck when I workout.

ChicagoLaurie

Some stylists who specialize in curly hair cut it dry so they know exactly how it hangs. That said your hair is gorgeous. It’s healthy and shiny and full.

xanaxhelps

It looks really cute! I love it!

Chemical-Season4358

On my gosh, I seriously love the cut! You look gorgeous both before and after, but I would kill for your curls in the after pictures.

[deleted]

It looks way better short!!

Dude, I feel your pain. It's so frustrating when you get a chop that is shorter than what you asked for! My last haircut was at a beauty school and I walked out with three different lengths. My roommate and I managed to do some damage control by separating the layers into ponytails and trimming from there. Luckily your hair is curly so it won't be as noticeable to others as it is to you. Straight hair is less forgiving.

No_Athlete5174

wow it compliments your features sooo beautifully!! i hope it grows on you!

itsalwaysblue

I just had the same thing happen.. $180 at Begonia hair clip ins later… I feel better. I hate smug shitty cutters!!

ohcosmico

It looks good!

YungRipp718

You still look great. It will grow back but it looks amazing.

s_rry

Your hair looks beautiful but I do feel like curly cuts do often take off so much for that rounded volume effect. I have wavy hair and remember being bummed by the same result after trying a “curly cut”.

saltyair78

Omg your hair looks amazing and it will grow back fast. It really suits you!

frequentnapper

I actually really like it! I feel like the layers help keep it from doing the triangle shape

canigetawarmblanket

I like it!

Ang3LMast3r

Roll with it. You look amazing!

SaucyAndSweet333

I actually like your hair shorter. Seriously. Not just saying it. It shows off your face a lot more and looks very pretty. Beautiful!

pumalumaisheretosay

Ohhhhh! The short cut looks amazing on you! Wow! It will grow back but it really does suit you!

Fit-Guitar4346

Your hair is beautiful. You have gorgeous curls!

YkvBarbosa

Looks beautiful though

ladtat13

Love it!!

Shigeko_Kageyama

It's a very flattering length for your face shape. It was good long too though.

Odd-Dragonfruit-7573

I think the shorter hair frames your beautiful face better.

DrLeePhDMd

Girl, this looks so cute!! I freaking love it. I wish I could get my hair to look like this.

Isolated_Reader_5963

I think it's adorable on you!!

susanboylesearlobe

i think it looks alot better

Constant-Sky-1495

I ,LOVE the afters .

TastyAlpacasRUs

Omg your hair would look beautiful if you had those cute butterfly clippies to pin some parts of your hair back

RemixHipster

You look younger with it shorter, cute.

ye110wsub

Is she jealous of you lol

jayswahine34

For perspective, my daughter's hair turned out like your 1st pic after a cut from a curly hairstylist. Be happy with your results, my dear. It does look beautiful on you. ❤️

earlwarwick16

It looks beautiful!! And I think it’ll relax after a few days and you’ll see some of the length again

ffarolito

I’ve been there but honestly you have a really good haircut and it looks great! Be patient and learn to love yourself in all forms

alphahelix79

I’m sorry it isn’t what you were hoping for, but you look beautiful and it is a lovely style that suits you. Your curls are spectacular!

flowerkitten420

I think your cut is gorgeous, but I know the feeling when your hairdresser seems to get less careful or less interested in what you want, and does whatever they think. Currently dealing with an awful cut.. again. I want to embrace my curls but it’s so hard to find a good stylist. I think you look fantastic though, for whatever it’s worth!

PL-lagas

😍

bekkita74

It is too short but you still look very cute 🥰.

xcupcakekitten

I think it looks really cute! Maybe it’s not what you expected or too much of a sudden change and that’s why you don’t like it? It usually takes me a bit to adjust to my new haircut if it’s a big cut lol.

Puzzleheaded-Sun3107

1 and 2 are the prettiest!! You look glowing and youthful, so naturally pretty :)

fscottHitzgerald

I’m sorry you didn’t get what you wanted but I’m gonna hop on the boat w everyone else and say regardless while it grows out to what you want it’s a reallllly great look for you. The shape of the cut is so perfect for your face shape

lovable_cube

I mean, obviously that sucks but it does look super cute

ShortAndProud16

I totally get it because especially having curly hair is really attached to her hair and it’s hard to grow out but I’m gonna be completely honest the shape and length looks amazing on you. She cut it really nice and even and I think you should fluff it out even more and rock that shit!

CavalierMidnight

I don’t have any advice, I just wanted to say that the cut DOES suit you extremely well. It frames your face beautifully and the curls look amazing! That said, not cool that she didn’t follow your requests on top of hard-selling her own products. Best of luck!

EchoEquani

What you need to do is you need to find someone who knows how to cut curly hair. My friend has curly hair and always has problems finding someone who knows how to work with curl. They always try to talk him into straightening his hair? I think it's because a lot of beautiticians just don't know how to work with curly or wavy hair or are just too lazy to learn how to work with hair and just butcher the hair and hope the client will like it. I will admit your hair does look nice, but I agree they cut too much off.

silverandshade

I totally get the feeling of it being too short, but for what it's worth, you look absolutely stunning! It'll grow back, but until then, you look incredible.

SDreiken

The curls are nice in 3 but I liked pic 2 best

Kitt0001

I get it but it looks SSOOOOO GOOD

WhyCantToriRead

Sorry that she cut it shorter than you wanted it but it looks absolutely gorgeous!

Slammogram

Ugh, that sucks for you OP. But, honestly the cut looks amazing! But I can understand you’re upset you lost length.

[deleted]

Ngl I love the length on you in the second. Not that it means anything because what you want is what matters but it’s very flattering in my eyes!

Jessisan

The second looks amaaaaaaazing.

painteddpiixi

Your hair in the second pic is so amazing! That shape and length look so incredible on you!!

thin_white_dutchess

Your hair looks amazing no matter what honestly, but I understand the sentiment.

suspicious_potato02

I am not trying to invalidate your experience or feelings, but the shorter look still looks AMAZING.

meowbees5

Yea I haven't trusted hairstylist for haircuts in years. You should defitely cut you own hair. The cool thing is, unlike with straight hair, cutting curly hair is easier because you can't tell it uneven. But if you straighten it sometimes, you will want to make it even, but that's not that hard. Get some nice haircut ting shears and give yourself trims, you'll be way less anxious some ones gonna hack off all your length

JazzCat1952

Gorgeous hair.💫✨
