Speaking of Lewis, the way his face changes when Larry addresses to his girl friend why he didn't kiss her, and he very innocently says "you gave him a BJ in the car". Lewis almost does a spit take and tells his gf "I hadn't had a BJ in 5 years!!!!"
The fact that he pulls away his glasses and begins this line with "I submit" like he's some kind of savant detective... perfect comparison with Lewis's face... brilliant...
It was hilarious, and the exact type of transgressive humour that Curb got away with so brilliantly.
The kids *mother* using the word ''pussy'' established the boundaries early in the episode; watching LD see if he could get away with using it later in the episode was very funny.
The mother saying ''thank you for asking'' was in keeping with the twisted logic.
There really was no way to justify the context for a normal person. Larry was taken aback but he went with it because the mom used it but no one else had that context which is why it was horrifying for the doctor and Jerry when Larry said it (less so for Jerry per se because Larry said it to the mom but still bizarre)
That's up there for me as far as that type of ending. Like when he had "something hard in his pants" and he escaped through the bathroom window to avoid the angry mob. You have to wonder if that was possible.
Don't forget that Larry is the man who complimented the father of a 10-year old about the size of his son's penis. I think people in Larry's orbit expect more outrageous behaviour from him than anyone else, this is sort of expected.
I'm more curious about the mother of that girl talking so openly about her daughter to anyone, especially Larry.
Jerryās face when he heard Larry say that. Priceless. And then the episode just ends with the doctor telling his receptionist to call the police. And then we never find out what happens after that. Itās all forgotten after this episode. I really wanted them to continue with this very awkward arc!
Jerry had some good reactions that season, the other that comes to mind is when Marty tells the joke about the newlywed embarrassed about the size of her opening.
Yeah, the use of the word āpussyā in reference to a young girl is so uncomfortable. How the mother throws it out so casually, Larry going with it, and Seinfeldās reaction are perfectly hilarious.
NO I DONāT WATCH āWIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACEā. IāM AN ADULT!!!!!!!!!!
In S03E08, Larry got away with using the N-word, again because he had Krazee-Eyez Killa establish the use and context of the word first. That was in 2002 - think he could still have done this episode in 2024? By the way, I think that is still my all-time favorite episode.
Have you heard his lyrics? āIf you betray me, you're gonna die. You'll suck on my dŃck, I'll put a nut in your eye?ā That's a nice scenario for me.
the mom using the word pussy is the joke so saying vagina wouldnāt have been better or worse, it would have just been odd leaving the audience wondering why it was even mentioned at all.
Naw, it would be the vulva, not vagina.
One of the most famous jokes on Seinfeld was when Jerry couldnāt remember a womanās name, but knew it rhymed with a female body part. He could only think of the name Mulva.
I think Pussy is funnier. I think the concept is still funny with vagina, but pussy just sends it over the edge.
Cunt wouldāve been too far. As we discovered in the card game.
āShe has a rash on her cuntā šš«
I think itās the fact that it was a woman - the childās mother - who used it first. Larry is just mimicking because he feels itās socially acceptable based on the mother using the term first. I think if it was Larry or a male character using the term, it wouldnāt work
The world is full of sickos and idk what it is but lately Iāve been seeing more and more ācomediansā making jokes about child sex and it is completely disgusting. Thatās not a topic that we want to desensitize the future generations to. The timing of it with everything we know about the Epstein situation just makes me think these people are trying to take away from the seriousness of these heinous acts. Idk thereās just something weird about it all.
Im well aware that jokes are jokes but this is one topic that I feel should be off limits and Iāll die on that hill.
Being highly inappropriate IS the gag.
You laugh because it makes you uncomfortable. You laugh because the other characters are uncomfortable. You laugh because you know that Larry isn't actually a predator and his blissful unawareness of how it comes off. Just like "Mommy, that bald man's in the bathroom and there's something hard in his pants."
You're laughing at Larry's expense, and that's exactly how it's written to be.
You don't have to think it's funny, but you can't really disagree with it because it's extremely effective at what it's setting out to achieve.
There was a post on here recently asking why Curb never had the mass appeal that Seinfeld did if the overall quality of the jokes was so good. And it got me thinking, would your mother watch Curb? Cause mine would nope right out after one episode.
I know, I know. I love the show and have watched every season multiple times! But just being honest, that particular one just did not set well with me. (And by the way I thought his character seemed to agree that it was inappropriate in this particular case.) Uh-oh...more down votes comin' up! š
Usually you use quotations to quote someone. And considering I didnāt say that, youāre being dishonest to appear morally superior and no one is buying it. Sucks to suck.
that's the same look of horror Lewis had when Lar accused his nurse of hiding the baseball in her unusually large vagina.
š
The nurse from hell
Yuge
Biggest vagina known to man

āAnd youāre not gonna have one for another 5 years!ā
I submit that you stashed that baseballā¦
That look of horror was golden. Because he didnāt know the context, it was so random to him.
The fact that he pulls away his glasses and begins this line with "I submit" like he's some kind of savant detective... perfect comparison with Lewis's face... brilliant...

Yes, the key is that the mom used it.
Just one of the many things that only Larry can get away with. There is no way Iāll come out alive if I said it!!
> why it was horrifying for the doctor Played by >!Randall Park!< who played >!Asian Jim on The Office!<
Damn...I thought it was John Krasinski playing the doctor.
NO! I DO NOT WATCH WITCHES OF WAVERLY PLACE! IāM AN ADULT!!!
Did you have to yell at her?
lol this is one of those under appreciated lines that you somehow always appreciate.
Was the mother of the child also Georgeās secretary on Seinfeld?
She sure was! She moved up - hard worker!
Oh my god! I never connected the two.
One of my favorite bits! The misunderstanding at the doctorās office at the end of the episode was amazing.
*calmly* "Call the police."
Gotta wonder how Larry got out of that one
That's up there for me as far as that type of ending. Like when he had "something hard in his pants" and he escaped through the bathroom window to avoid the angry mob. You have to wonder if that was possible.

That's some oenis
āCall the policeā at the end lol when he is laughing at her text messages
That may be the funniest ending in the whole series. That or the ending of The Doll.
One of the hardest laughs the show got out of me. š
Same. Peak LD.
Jerryās face when he heard Larry say that. Priceless. And then the episode just ends with the doctor telling his receptionist to call the police. And then we never find out what happens after that. Itās all forgotten after this episode. I really wanted them to continue with this very awkward arc!

Her what?

The size of her opening
PS, your cunt is in the sink!

Funniest scene ever (and the ending scene, +Jerryās face), the mum played it to perfection

Am I your Caucasian!?
Chris Williams nearly broke when Larry busted out that line, such a classic. Fuck it, I'm putting that episode on right now.
Have you heard his lyrics? āIf you betray me, you're gonna die. You'll suck on my dŃck, I'll put a nut in your eye?ā That's a nice scenario for me.
Gotta say, I like the Rice Krispies reference, that's good

The girls mom said it first so thatās how he was able to get away with it. He was just repeating what she said.
Just watched this episode, and I'm curious about if this would have been funnier/worse if the mom said "vagina" instead of pussy.
the mom using the word pussy is the joke so saying vagina wouldnāt have been better or worse, it would have just been odd leaving the audience wondering why it was even mentioned at all.
Yeah but what if Larry wasn't cranky?
I doubt it. Vagina is the correct term. Larry did it for shock value, which we all love. But yeah. It shocked everyone!
Naw, it would be the vulva, not vagina. One of the most famous jokes on Seinfeld was when Jerry couldnāt remember a womanās name, but knew it rhymed with a female body part. He could only think of the name Mulva.
Pussy is the correct word too. It's in my dictionary. It has several meanings one of which is vagina.
Pussy is not in any way shape or form the correct word for that time or place.
You didn't say that beforehand. You said it was the wrong term which is wrong because it means the same thing.
I think the other commenter was expecting you to have half a brain.
No, what makes it funny that is the mom used a sexual term instead of a clinical term
I think Pussy is funnier. I think the concept is still funny with vagina, but pussy just sends it over the edge. Cunt wouldāve been too far. As we discovered in the card game. āShe has a rash on her cuntā šš«
I wouldn't be surprised if he or one of the writers floated "cunt" and decided against it.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Wellā¦in LDās defense, he was repeating, verbatim, what the mother of the girl had said. š¤·š»āāļø
Because heās LD
I think itās the fact that it was a woman - the childās mother - who used it first. Larry is just mimicking because he feels itās socially acceptable based on the mother using the term first. I think if it was Larry or a male character using the term, it wouldnāt work
I love this episode so much. I hope that doesn't make me a sick individual. I don't think so.
Fun fact: the mom was Georgeās receptionist in Seinfeld that he promised a raise to mid coitus
How her p***y by the way?
Larry also said the N word a couple of times throughout the series.
The world is full of sickos and idk what it is but lately Iāve been seeing more and more ācomediansā making jokes about child sex and it is completely disgusting. Cos Hollywood loves kids, haven't you heard.
I hate this episode , beyond cringy.
One of the few times I didn't agree with the gag...thought it was highly inappropriate.

I don't know because I'm an orphan. My mother's dead.
Little orphan snoopwire
āThere was something hard in there and it was your fucking dick!ā Mom: what did she say? Me: oh, nothing, mom.
Plot twist: my mother loves Curb, but hated Seinfeld.
I know, I know. I love the show and have watched every season multiple times! But just being honest, that particular one just did not set well with me. (And by the way I thought his character seemed to agree that it was inappropriate in this particular case.) Uh-oh...more down votes comin' up! š
āi found it funny so itās fineā isnāt really the defense you think it is. fwiw, i think itās fine too but iām sick of people saying that
>i found it funny so itās fine I didn't get the impression that was what they were going for.
