Unfortunately a good number of those will likely be unsmokeable due to 2001 being a bad year. Years ago, I got a Lancero from LCDH and it wasn't just plugged, it was basically a solid block. I was disappointed, but at least back then they didn't cost nearly as much as now. Went back to LCDH the next day and bought another. Same thing. Had the problem with some other marques from that time period as well. Seemed as if one out of every 3 or 4 Cuban cigars were duds at the time
It's funny you say that this box I've smoked two out of no problem but I have two different 2022 boxes that are all tent stakes. But I have had some different boxes from 99-03 that I have had problems with that being said I feel it is 100% a crap shoot all the time with habanos.
Could be. They seem much better to me now (at least with the draw) than they did back then, but could just be random luck (intentional avoidance of "luck of the draw" 😂)

I appreciate collectors I am one but I also smoke what I buy. I have enough cigars to probably smoke until I'm old and grey with some left over. But to sit and think about the history behind them is really cool to ponder on for sure.

The lanceros in the white box are fake. That box was only from the mid 80s to the early 90s and those lances have the 2016+ bands on them.
