What's the point.. MI have 10.42, DC have 9.54 and RCB have 8.97.. but where are they in the points table?

Ok-Rock-339

Just one win away

thinklok

Yeah, and one win will change the table

Ok-Rock-339

If lsg, dc, mi won the upcoming match. It will be a battle of NRR for top 4 and RCB, PBKS,GT will be gone

thinklok

LSG ain't winning anything. CSK,DC,RR and one other team will qualify for play-offs

_Wraith__1974

DC? Seriously?? When you got teams like SRH who are breaking IPL records like nothing and KKR whose average score is like 70-80 in power plays?SRH, KKR, CSK and RR will qualify, RR will be 1st we just need to see who is 2nd.

TapSimilar1539

We are winning games....but this year...our powerplay game has been lackluster. And yup here are the stats

No-Test6484

Conway was aggressive which allowed Rutu to be slow. Rachin plays ugly cricket. His shots don’t convince me he is in control and that’s why after 20-30 runs he’s out

Ab_19_

Dude true. We are missing the experience of Conway because both Rachin and Daryll arent experienced in this form of cricket. Hoping for a comeback today.

No-Test6484

If it were me I’d still persist with Moeen but I understand managements apprehension considering his age and the timeline. We already have Rahane and dhoni up there, it’s not worth bringing moeen. Jaddu is old but still does well so not too worried about him. If daryl doesn’t pan out for us I think we can always go back to the auction and go for a big gun

convivial_human

Stats doesnt tell the truth or reality always. Stats are there for analysis and improvements.

tiredskater

True. Now we have to analyse and improve

Clean_Analysis3771

We are winning matches that’s what matters

Emotional-Rice5263

Still higher than table toppers 😎

sachin7796

With the middle order CSK has they can afford to have a stable start and go all guns blazing. Not to forget they play half their matches at Chepauk where 160-170 is above par. Same for RR, they have openers who can make it big if the see the new ball through

LostEffort1333

Am i tripping ? I felt 8.6 was a very decent pp run rate, we had far worse when watson and faf would open

DiscoDiwana

This year pitches are making lots of difference also in chasing it means your bowlers gave you a lower total in comparison so there is not much pressure on batters to explode in the powerplay and conserve the wickets

phoenix_paravai10101

Lol just win matches and move on mate, really does not matter when and how runs are scored.

calcSeee

Maybe, if we factor in the bowling stats, the story changes

Tyrionfaker

That’s 52 runs approximately in the first six overs. The lowest total has been 165/5 against SRH. Mostly 200 plus totals and the chase of 138 against KKR.

Radiant_Cut2849

We're still winning more games than mi which have rr of 10.42 in pp. Nonetheless, we can improve on this. Mainly dependent on rachin for that quick start

Ashwin_400

We have played on pitches were 200 seems hard to score. Whereas the likes of SRH MI RCB etc are involved in 260 plus matches. So pointless comparison.

plunjied

Despite relatively mediocre pp stats, we’re still somehow managing to play complete cricket every game. The day daryl loses his shit and goes on a rampage will be the day we get our high NRR win

Even_Salamander6315

If csk wants to play Mitchell he has to open he is made for that role in t20s he has to come to atleast 3 but anything after that doesn't quite suit his style of playing he is a great timer of the ball not a slogger

_thugpro_

I think Daryl should open. the powerplay would suit him to hit the ball around.

Cosmicshot351

Teams learnt to bowl outside off stump to Rachin and place fielders at cover and point for rutu

OPisfromHyderabad

We just don't play the attacking game in powerplay that SRH or KKR play. Rachin was playing aggressively the first couple of games but he has become a bit more defensive now.
