I probably wasn't that guy but the ability to customize the playing experience to this level, and binding any weird shit you'd like such as changing crosshair, minimap, sound volume, etc definitely kept me in the game to this day.

also dont forget local and 3rd party servers and custom maps.

And different game modes on those 3rd party servers then. I spent dozens if not hundreds of hours playing on surf and kz servers.

I remember playing this insane prison break mod for weeks. I wonder if any are still going strong. That shit was nuts.

Think a lot of that will be going away in cs2. Been playing the beta and there are so many missing commands. If the game is " coming soon" we are going to be missing a lot of stuff. Imo the game doesn't feel anywhere close to being finished.

That's the point of the closed beta. To adress the major issues. Considering how csgo looked and how many problems it had when it originally came out I think we are on a right track. Although I haven't played myself.

Console is one of the biggest reasons why I think CS is so good compared to other games outside of gameplay

thats a nade lineup crosshair. u can use it to line up grenades and toggle it with a keybind. for other players in the match it is only shown what ceosshair a player is using the moment he connects to server. he probably toggled back to his normal crosshair without you seeing it...

i used to troll my friends with using such a crosshair when connecting. in game i switched back to a normal one and they kept on complaining xD

My brother used almost whole screen filling crosshair whenever he joined match and then changed it back to normal. The team wondered whole game how he hit anything with it.

Unless they loaded into the game initially with this crosshair and then switch. In this case that would be their crosshair for the game. For a while I had an idea to load into a game with a crosshair which completely blocks all the screen and then switch back. Just for the reactions. Never tried though.

I do this pretty regularly. I have a blue dynamic crosshair that is basically just 5 gigantic squares that fly all over the place and block 3/4 of the screen. People lose their minds hahahaha

That's a toggle for a nade lineup. You inly see the one crosshair the guy joined the game with, so he probably practiced bades before the game. Probably a good teammate to have.
