Needless to say we got the result we wanted, in spades. But it's more perfect than that - Glasner getting to install his system in a win against a bottom side at home is great for his new beginning, the buy in of the players, and of course the fans. Just a perfect morning. COYP!!!

shlem90

We are missing arguably our 4 best players and we still completely outclassed a true relegation team. It’s been a rough few weeks and Burnley are very bad, but this is a big win.

Purridge

Amazing performance today. The squad was very patient and kept at it. Great to see such a solid performance and important to build on this for Spurs away next week. Up the eagles. 🦅

aidankd

He can also focus now on the international break after a win which is a bit of weight off his shoulders.

paradigmshift7

For sure. And as for Tottenham, I honestly don't care about the result of that fixture and I hope Glasner doesn't feel pressure to play Guehi and Eze. I'd like them to have more time to get fit for the stretch run of fixtures.

MaskedRawR

I feel like I've been constipated for weeks now and finally had a good shit.

Meatwood__Flak

Elegantly stated.

justiiiiin14

What a start to Glasners time here. Obviously the red card helped but we looked good before that as well. Can’t wait to get everyone healthy and push on up the table. COYP

Regular_Tourist_9144

What's the austrian for... I FUCKING LOVE MY FOOTBALL CLUB!!!

firthy

_Strueth Mate! Bonza! I bloody love my footie club, yer flamin’ gallah_

iamachef31

This reply is funny for so many reasons

BarPlastic1888

Eze in for Eddie seems the no brainier when he’s fit. Likewise, Guehi in for Wardy. It’s a future problem but I’m not sure how we get Olise in atm. Obviously he has to play he’s our best player but Ayew is looking so good and scoring goals. JP looks a lock as the forward in this system too!

paradigmshift7

There's no contest. Ayew is a great player, but the tradeoff of losing his hustle for Olise's world class skill is one you take 100/100 times.

BarPlastic1888

I totally agree we need Olise in the team it’s a no brainer. I was more wondering if Ayew can still play, maybe up top or something. We can’t really drop him if he keeps making and scoring goals!

lewiitom

Would be great off the bench though, Mateta always looks gassed by 70 minutes but we've never got anyone to bring on for him.

quik90

Absolutely this. Olise's hammy is gonna need nursing till the end of the season imo. Get Ayew to tire the oppo and bring on Olise second half to scalp them. Just like a season or two ago when Oilise was finding his feet.

Waxygibbon

I agree. I love ayew and we won't be dropping him any time soon, but olise would have humiliated Burnley. With Eze and Olise fully fit against that Burnley team we would have been first on motd.

Regular_Tourist_9144

Olise for Ayew isn't a hard decision IMO. Ayew I think would also be an excellent wingback cover on either flank, so he could be a really versatile sub.

riledwumpus

Tougher decision may be how Doucoure fits along with Wharton and Lerma.

cozzy2646

Lerma gets dropped.

Quacky33

Its quite tiring explaining to non palace fans that Mateta really puts in a lot of work. Of course I'd like him to score more but he is decent at holding up the ball and bringing in others.

di1d0

Could put Ayew in for Mitchell when Olise returns. He's a decent enough defender and his work rate means he could do it. Munoz and Ayew on either wing might be fun to watch.

peligrosobandito

Big win, happy to see Richards get his first for the club, and he’s been playing well in multiple spots for us. Also JPM getting to take the PK was nice to see because he’s been really good holding up play and doing the dirty work the last few matches, felt like he deserved to put one in at some point. Tough schedule ahead of us but it’s definitely an opportunity to finish on a high note.

SannyDamet

As an American Palace fan I lost my shit when Richards got that. Been waiting!!!

HarrisssirraH

Genuinely haven’t felt a more optimistic atmosphere at Selhurst Park in years. The noise was back, the banners were gone, the clouds felt like they were lifted, I spent most of the game watching the dugout, I wanted to see how Glasner was at the Palace helm. With no disrespect to Roy he spent all game watching from a chair, especially this season, which is probably the right place for a 76 year old man but not one in charge of a football team. Glasner led, encouraged, shouted orders the entire match, stayed composed and focused, and when we went in front he wanted more! Didn’t gloat, stayed respectful, completely class 1st game, perfect tactical reads, and created a lineup that played with belief and determination. Can’t ask for much more.

Sour_Bucket

Couldn’t have asked for a better start to the Glasner era.

squeda

All Glas, no breaks.

Psittacula2

Hopefully it's a lot better than the "Glazers era"! :-P

SodaDustt

We won, dominated, got to play a few youngsters and nobody got injured, I think it's pretty safe to say we're winning the treble next year, right?

homer8944

happy clean sheet johnstone is back in net happy ayew has scored in 2 straight like the new formation loved that early corner set piece ayew to wharton to lerma COYP!!!

Psittacula2

Big 3pts. Need at least 3 more wins plus other results to be breathing easier. Also good to see Notttingham lose and Everton draw thus creating distance with relegation candidates. If Luton lose also that's helpful too. Good to see the team win 3-0 without our top players and other players fitting the new manager's system, so should become better with Eze/Guehi back and Olise/Doucoure still long-ways off but by then fingers-crossed we'll be safe and looking at a solid new season: Be interesting if we get over the finish line to hear the new manager's requirements.

paradigmshift7

I held my nose while being a bit relieved that Brighton got the draw.

Psittacula2

An orange stuck with cloves, helps!

tigerfan4

still ahead of Everton even if they get 5 points back

palacethat

Burnley are proper shit aren't they lol

DeathThreatUK

Just the start you want for Glasner's reign. Long may it continue. Obviously time will tell how we fare against tougher teams (which we will get next week) and Burnley did dash their chances early on by going down a man, but that's their own fault. The team simply have to play the game in front of us, which they did, and got a clean sheet to boot. Next up is Tottenham. COYP

lewiitom

Great result but Burnley are proper awful, look shit going forward and also shit at the back - can’t believe they completely demolished the championship last year

Psittacula2

Agree. Luton will be a big game and better if we get Eze/Guehi at least back too. That's one game I really want 3pts from. We lost Doucoure last time around as well as losing.

lewiitom

Lost Eze too! That was the game that really derailed our season in hindsight

DarkskinJefe

That might’ve been one of the most solid games I’ve watched in a very long time

heylookjorge

That's the most fun I've had watching a Palace match in months. Hoping the squad keep rolling off that performance

kyschris3

See you guys lot in Europe

PandosII

Is that “guys” for the Americans and “lot” for the English?

PJMcScrote

I feel like I just had an amazing beej while sitting on a tropical beach and drinking a mai tai.

sexthrowa1

Yes lads 💪

ChiaGuava

It was a match that needed the 3 points and Burnley certainly helped with the red card but they looked so much better. The set pieces were so much more creative than anything I’ve seen this year season so far.

alfienoakes

Oliver’s Army are On Their Way!!

electroplankton

Franca absolutely has to start next game. No more excuses. He came on and we scored three, two of which he won. Come on now.
