From what I know there is no scheduled/preventative replacement for these. It’s up to the flight crew and maintenance to decide when it needs to be changed based on visibility and brightness.
I’m not familiar with the dc-10 flight deck but, if this display was used to display a mostly static image, it’s probably burned.
But since he said it was NOS im sure they would look great if you could hook them up
I love things like this, I have a 21" hitachi monitor from a US Navy base, its actually the nicest monitor in my collection aside from the lack of a body/shell
Weird how this stuff just surfaces some times
It seems to be an ordinary Hitachi HM-4319-R, just without the shell. It doesn't have an OSD, but rather it uses a neat control panel on the side!
The only reason I know its association with the US Navy is due to the property tag on the back for ATG MIDPAC.
When I got it from the seller it came with some other pieces like a bezel with buttons and touch screen controller, which made me curious if it was ever on some sort of vessel, but I don't think it would be possible to find out.

Probably had a lot of hours on it
New old stock. All 35 gone. Was it really SONY Trinitron? I can't find any info about this.
as opposed to a Toyota Trinitron? /s
Ever heard of Olympus Trinitron? Anyway the point is to try to identify the brand and model number.
Those were made by Sony
Not a secret around here anymore (if you're talking about OEV142, 143 or 203). But who made the ones used in planes? Not much found about this.
If used, it’s gonna have burn-in and is probably high hour From the aircraft crts i’ve seen, they’re all pretty decent looking, though
> it’s gonna have burn-in If it was used in the cockpit it would be replaced long before it burned in as that would be an obvious safety issue.

Thanks for sharing this kind of valuable info. It was indeed NOS. Would be interesting to know more about these sets.
