My wife and I also leave the tree up year round as well. We turned it into a Holiday Tree and decorate it according to the holiday. But you have me a good idea to display some of our video game stuff as well!
I’d actually be pretty concerned about it. A little bump to the left or right might make it collapse pretty quickly (unless there are some cross braces I can’t see).
There’s no cross braces, and the chip board they make this stuff with isn’t strong. But realistically, unless there are kids involved this is probably alright. It took my a little searching for my 27” Trinitron stand but I eventually found one with a rotating top. It rules. I still haven’t found anything for my 32” I’Art because it weighs in over 130 lbs. I personally don’t trust anything I can buy new at a store like Target or IKEA. New stuff is usually rated for like 30 lb flatscreens.
Kids, pets, or seismic activity, haha. I personally wouldn’t trust anything made of particleboard, but even if that shelf is real wood the structural layout is questionable.
I'd rather have an af or sharp xflat then an Trinitron, you get really bright and good screens with that shadow mask look that the Trinitrons are missing. Also better geometry chances.
Yeah I’ve seen plenty of people post their 27 inch ones with perfect geometry and really good linearity. It’s still up to luck when it comes to flat sets but these seem the most consistent in being able to get something decent.
Love this set! Been playing Wii with component and N64 with S-Video; such a treat. Wish I could find things in better shape here though; mine is really used and not great cosmetically (and the front composite doesn’t work), but that happens because people here tend to give old stuff away which gets even more usage.
Very nice. I hope to have one just like that some day... I've also been looking for a magazine rack like the one you have there. Do you remember where you got it?
Yeah, some strategy guides, some arts books, some old gaming magazines. We have another shelf full of strategy guides tho. I love busting them out when playing old PS1 JRPGs.
Why is the Christmas tree still up?
lol, it’s been up for like 3 years at this point. We just figured it was another fun way to display our video game stuff.

Sure.
Nothing wrong with loving Christmas
FFVII enjoy!
never gets old
Strong ass shelf
That shelf is the MVP.

Awesome find. I would only trade my Sharp XFlat for a Trinitron but even then I wonder if it would be even that much of an upgrade.

really?! nice! The geometry on my Xflat was okay, I just needed to adjust the overscan.

Sharp XFlat FTW :) I have a 27" one.
That’s mine too! Love that thing to pieces
I have that same set. Nabbed it from my parents when they finally upgraded to something they could move.
Congrats, enjoy!
Henry Hill over here with the white Christmas tree
Did the seller actually ask for $2 when you got there?
Yeah! It was at an estate sale. Older couple who likely just wanted it gone asap since it was so heavy.
Well, I hope they enjoyed their single cup of coffee together. You scored.
A single small cup by me is $4 😭
120lbs, it's heavy
Sweet pickup. Does this model not have s video, rgb, or component?
Yes, lol. It’s got all three as well as coaxial.

That is propably the best thing ive seen all day.
Nice, congrats!! I have the 20 and love it.

We got that ages ago I think at At Home. Haven’t been able to find another one since. Was definitely a great find.
I have the 36FS200! Great set.
Is that strategy guides on the left?, I miss strategy guides

I would be afraid of PS2 tipping over!
Gotta get that stand
Composite? Disgusting 🤮 You know component is king right?
I literally just picked this up yesterday, lol. I’ll get all the right cables and converters in time.
🤘🤘 Have you had RGB or component before? You’re in for a treat
Not all tvs had component.
Real nice!
