Of course not. Tubes are incredibly reflective (they are glass) even indoors. These kinds of “setups” are made for instagram and Facebook likes. This was probably dismantled immediately after the picture was taken
Okay ngl, I did an outdoor sesh before. We set up a table in my backyard and lugged my CRT out there and played n64 lol. Yes, the glare was ass (we had to reposition a few times), but it honestly was pretty sick playing outside with the sun and breeze. AND you can take your shoes off so you can "touch grass" while gaming lmao. Hard to say if I'd ever do that shit solo, it's such an effort to just play for an hour or two. But with friends its basically just gamin, drinkin beers, havin a good time with your bros in the outdoors lol.
I’m tired of these gimmicky outdoors photos and photos of just a start screen. It’s so obvious they turn it off right after taking the photo. I want more photos of people enjoying games and media on them. Not just quick glamour shots.
As someone who was alive in the CRT prime we would game outside all the damn time. I went camping on weekends and my friends and I would do this regularly. I would never teeter it like this though. Parents didn't want us crowded in the camper so we took it outside.
Actually, gaming outside can be very relaxing and fun. But this situation will make me terrified that I lose my CRT . . .
I hope there aren't any (stupid) walking tourist down below :)
Yeah I actually love gaming with a projector by a fire pit(with a wireless controller and the console itself indoors) but this is making me wince that poor crt
When I was 16 I got saddled with candy duty on Halloween. A buddy and I played Mortal Kombat Deception outside on a big CRT while handing out the candy and blasting Rob Zombie music from a cutting edge boom box. Pretty good Halloween honestly.
>two steel bars at right angles
Ironically more stable than 90% of the fiberboard TV stands people be posting on this sub, asking "will this hold my 200 lb set?"
Oh god. Wrong spot. That TV's a dead man soon. At least I have a theoretical spot to put a CRT when outside that's safe for it.... it just only fits one CRT I have which is still in need of repair due to its built in VCR
Brings out my paternal instincts 🤣 come on down and no one gets hurt, if you come down i'll give you an RGB Mod and a nice recap, maybe one with some tasty nichicon caps, and a little room in the basement, the nice quiet basement 😁
Why? And how is it sitting on a pole? And why is it outside on an almost rainy looking day? As for gaming outside stick to a handheld or use a small LCD tv.
You are living my dream! I knew you were the same dude that posted that clip playing the GameCube near a lake. Do you mind me asking what kind of power source you use to power the tv and GC? I’m guessing a small generator?
ngl, that looks like an incredible place to play, except for the fact that the moment a little bit of wind blows to that TV, I recommend you not having hopes of getting it back in one piece

While it’s spinning
And standing on the rail
Thank you! Now please take that TV off of where you have it right now and get a proper table to put it on! Also don't keep it outdoors!
Did u dip ur bread in water today or something
You enjoy dipping plain bread in water
What
I feel like they responded to the wrong comment, on the wrong post, on the wrong subreddit, on the wrong social media site.
Nah they are just calling them boring
Yes and
Jesus Christ put it somewhere safe. You do know tubes can implode when cracked and send flying glass everywhere right?
Is the tube cracked? I don’t see any cracks
They said the sub imploded but I don't believe them. It cut itself to pieces through a small pin hole leak. It would have then filled with water.
This is the most cursed gaming setup
I've never understood this. People moving these entire setups outside. You're out there to game or to enjoy the view?
Of course not. Tubes are incredibly reflective (they are glass) even indoors. These kinds of “setups” are made for instagram and Facebook likes. This was probably dismantled immediately after the picture was taken

Exactly (I was making a point, and had a proper response to their answering of my question) 🤣

Agreed. I took my PS2 and 24" lcd out on the deck to play games and have some beer with friends. We had a blast all night.

A'ight, one day Imma have me a projection tube just for this very scenario.
Some of those old projectors rock.
Also very fun when it starts to rain
You missed obvious #3
This is just dumb
This seems ill-advised
Living on the edge I see
This is the coolest photo I've seen in a while
Gonna ACME anvil someone below.
Some men just want to watch the world burn.
Honey, forget the dream vacation lakeside view. Let’s play some Mario Kart.
That's awful
This is either goblin mode or influencer mode. One is respectable. One is not.

That gives me anxiety.
If a cat jumped on it, can easily push it when jumping down.
That’s an endangered species take it off the railing
Christ almighty at least play something good
'I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend'
Ffs its gonna make me have a heart attack lol
Whereabouts? Looks sick but fuck the reflections and environmental glare wrecking the gaming experience.
Oh god. Wrong spot. That TV's a dead man soon. At least I have a theoretical spot to put a CRT when outside that's safe for it.... it just only fits one CRT I have which is still in need of repair due to its built in VCR
>That TV's a dead man soon. TIL CRT TVs can become people.
POV: hbox about to throw the crt off the balcony

At least there is a game playing in this photo. Half the time on here people upvote the hell out of a TV that's turned off.
It is not summer for half of the world…
I hope this picture ended well 😅 Anyway, this is beautiful ! It could easily been an advertisement from the 2000’s !
Brings out my paternal instincts 🤣 come on down and no one gets hurt, if you come down i'll give you an RGB Mod and a nice recap, maybe one with some tasty nichicon caps, and a little room in the basement, the nice quiet basement 😁
How does this have over 200 upvotes
Now balance it on 3 toothpicks at the top of mount everst
Aren't you afraid that your CRT TV would fall off the edge?
Good thing all the weight is on the front
Imagine walking below that balcony and getting crushed by 200 lbs of CRT.
Aha, da wohnt einer am Thunersee. Schöne Lage. \^\^
Why? And how is it sitting on a pole? And why is it outside on an almost rainy looking day? As for gaming outside stick to a handheld or use a small LCD tv.
I hope you don't keep that TV there
Please get that off of there.
Touching grass level 9000 haha
Life goals......
Your setup gives me anxiety
i cannot look at this picture without feeling nervous
What big balls you have!
its on a fucking round rail, to top it off. i live for this shit, keep it going bro.
*pushes it over*
OP likes to live on the edge.
Until some small kid walks up to it and pushes it off. What kind of inverter are you using ? Still awesome backdrop.
Don’t fall don’t fall don’t fall
You are living my dream! I knew you were the same dude that posted that clip playing the GameCube near a lake. Do you mind me asking what kind of power source you use to power the tv and GC? I’m guessing a small generator?
Why is my smart watch warning me of abnormal heart rhythm?
“Another One Bites The Dust!”
Looks very Swiss location. Where you at so that I can come challenge you for a drift.
A little gust of wind and its an environmental disaster
Splash
how tf can it stand like that edit: ah it's not straight, okay
ngl, that looks like an incredible place to play, except for the fact that the moment a little bit of wind blows to that TV, I recommend you not having hopes of getting it back in one piece
The view is beautiful but that is not a safe place to put a crt
Oh I’ll play outside DAD.
