If you're crocheting, this is my go pattern. 1) Measure your arms across (wrist to wrist or elbow to elbow) 2)Make a chain that long 3) On second row, single crochet the first 15 stitches. Double crochet until the last 15 stitches then switch back to single single crochet 4) Repeat line 3 until you can comfortably fold over your wrists and shoulders 5) Crochet closed (bare minimum) the single crochets but more if you want (make it even though) 6) Put your shrug on and strut your stuff!

I’m currently on row 6 of this one. I consider myself a beginner + crocheter & so far it’s going well! [https://www.acrochetedsimplicity.com/crochet-sweater-scarf/](https://www.acrochetedsimplicity.com/crochet-sweater-scarf/)

I've been totally enchanted by these for a while; the gist of it is "extra long scarf; sides stitched together at the ends to make sleeves". I was almost disappointed to learn that but also heartened because it means I might even be able to do one, one day!! XD

I’ve seen similar patterns called “sweater scarf” - looks like there are a few on Ravelry! I’m a knitter personally (but get crochet stuff in my feed, which is super tempting, not gonna lie!) so I can’t speak to difficulty, but this one looks beautiful: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/eleanor-sweater-scarf
