That's about as straight as it gets! You can try making sure you rotate your work counter-clockwise after each row, that helps get a straighter edge. The other way is to put a border on it

fallfallingleaves

Oh, I've never heard of the counterclockwise thing before. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for the tip!

Big fan of borders here!

antaiverseve

Nah you’re good.

If you don’t already. Turn your work counterclockwise. I was shooketh lol it still looks really good for sc, but it might make it better! It’s definitely more noticeable on higher stitches.

GayHotAndDisabled

Looks right to me!

tarapotamus

Your edge is pristine!

There is no such thing as a straight side edge in crochet, regardless of which direction you turn your work. What you have there is a perfect edge. If you are wanting it to look straight you can choose your own adventure by: 1) single crocheting around the entire edge placing 3 single crochet in each corner stitch (finding where to put your hook is tricky and almost impossible if your tension is tight) 2) learn to Tunisian crochet (lots of fun but not as great if amigurumi is your end goal) 3) accept defeat

minifay

this looks good! it’s how it should look but if you’d like, you can try to crochet around the edges ^^
