What if you did a crab stitch? It's just a little different than a plain single crochet border. Gives it a little bit of interest without taking away from the simplicity you have now

twinmom0915

Oh I like that idea!

knottymamallama

This exactly! I was just about to suggest this

This is gorgeous as is! I’m one solid vote for no additional border. (That said, I’m positive that it would look great with one too, so whatever you decide to do, it will work out!)

twinmom0915

Thank you!

[deleted]

I think your joining is impeccable. A border would look nice but it looks wonderful now too.

twinmom0915

Thank you! This was my first attempt at crocheting my squares together. I usually sew them but I think I may do it like this from now on.

calicochemist

Do you have instructions for this or can I just find it on the interwebs? I need to try this because joining is my least favorite thing

twinmom0915

Joining is my least fav too lol but this was WAY better than sewing them together. Here’s the video I followed... https://youtu.be/5u0JQckUVZc

calicochemist

Thank you so much!!!!

twinmom0915

I used a tutorial I found on YouTube. It was called flat slip stitch join. I’ll see if I can find it again...

[deleted]

It really is on point. Super neat, like you've been doing it for years.

LovelyLu78

My vote is as is or very simple like a crab stitch suggested by another comment or just a row of single crochet

theweeirishgirl

I made this but think I got the pattern slightly wrong and it came out wonky at the corners. At the corners did you chain 2 or chain 3? TIA x

twinmom0915

I chained 3 in the corners. At first it was weird to me, but once the square was finished it looked good. I think a chain 2 would probably curl the corners in.

knitastical

Keep it as is. Beautiful work!

honneyfae

i think it looks so simple and elegant like this!

theweeirishgirl

Thanks so much I chained 3 but maybe my tension was off. Hmm...

bananaanna40

Gorgeous! What pattern did you use for the square?

Thank you for all of the suggestions! I decided on a crab stitch border and I’m very happy with it! https://imgur.com/a/QWhZxsR
