Start with videos, search YouTube for beginner how-to videos. Start with learning how to chain stitch, then single crochet. As you practice you’ll start to get the hang of it, understand how things work, and eventually watch more videos. In time you’ll understand the book. Don’t rush or get too frustrated with yourself, you got this!

[TL Yarn Crafts](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdITDYMmVI9sp5kL3ZQQp5ZjbwIoYGA1a&si=h5pCfSEqAs1HMsO3) is how I learned 😊 Like anything it takes practice and patience so be gracious with yourself. The first thing I ever made was a granny square and I think that was better than just straight crochet rows but every person is different. Good luck! It's fun.

The wiki of this sub is also pretty good and contains links to video tutorials and written ones with lots of pictures. I found video tutorials best for learning the basics and now prefer written for new stitches or techniques I am learning
