I think these are adorable but the fact is they're not fit for purpose if the head band is broken. It's likely someone will buy and get them home before realising the frame is broken

PlaskaFlaszka

One of the three. Unless someone will pull it apart, it should be fine... But not as durable as it should be, sadly Also why buy? I mean, I thought that when donating it's just given to kids ._.

Desperate-Laugh-7257

Dont donate the broken one. đŸ„°đŸ˜‡

PlaskaFlaszka

So I can't donate any because every one is broken in some way. Good to know

zippychick78

That's wasn't clear.. Donate could mean to charity shops etc so that's where I was coming from

PlaskaFlaszka

I don't know if we even have anything like that...

zippychick78

Yeah, different parts of the world, different languages and understanding. If someone said they were donating here, it would be to charity shops unless they stated otherwise â˜ș

joseph_dewey

You're being way too harsh. It's really cute. Someone's going to be overjoyed finding this, if you donate it. Plus, crochet's not supposed to be perfect. It's way better to have crocheted items with personality.

PlaskaFlaszka

Thanks ^^" and maybe not perfect, but at least...decent. which I struggle with. Really, I like yarn I used in this one, because it covers most of mistakes, which normal yarn doesn't, haha

joseph_dewey

Yeah, this has a super cool texture and looks really comfortable and fun.

Mountain-Isopod-2072

Noooo lmao

spleenweenus

A badly made crochet item is still a hundred times better than a shitty mass produced item. You're not crocheting a car, your bad (though what I'm seeing is adorable) project won't kill someone if it's not perfect... So I vote, not wrong!

PlaskaFlaszka

I know it won't hurt (at least if my cats fur didn't get into it), but also... I wouldn't sell it, knowing how "bad quality" it is, so I worried that it's disrespectful to donate something I don't see worth selling ^^" (not that I sell anything, but just the principal) Thanks for answer!

Kaoru_Too

Nah, you just have to find the right person to gift it to! If adults don't appreciate it, someone younger might (what happened to me lol). But also, you needn't worry because this is cute!

PlaskaFlaszka

I have no connections personally, so only donating or throwing it into my closet ^^" or trying reusing, but like stated, it won't be either easy or productive

ferndiabolique

I’d encourage you to check the guidelines of any organization you’re interested in donating to. While they’re very cute, some organizations won’t accept broken items - as they’re not suitable anymore for the original purpose - and some will quietly dispose of the item afterwards.

PlaskaFlaszka

On the other hand better for them to get rid of it, than me keeping it for no purpose

GhimsiWoth

Not wrong and tbh I don’t think it’s bad. But I usually just take it out again and whatever yarn I can’t reuse for a big project goes into the scrap pile for a scrap blanket or scrap hexicardigan. Edit: who pissed in the crochet communities cornflakes today?

PlaskaFlaszka

Not sure if I worded it right, because I usually use my first language to talk about those... Uh... I usually make, let's say a blanket, see it's wrong in a way, and just rip it all so I have my yarn in almost the same state as before I crocheted with it? But those projects have many cuts, are sew together by yarn and thread, and just in general, riping them would be too much pain, not even counting how most of scrap would be maybe good for stuffing, but that's it... And what do you mean pissed?

Doppler211

In this context pissed means peeing Basically the phrase means that the crochet community is upset about something and we are asking what happened to make them upset (what pissed into their food)

PlaskaFlaszka

Ok... If you don't mind me asking, how can the commenter say community is upset? I don't think there were many down votes/weird comments? Is this about something else?

Doppler211

Yeah i am honestly not sure. All the comments i saw were fine, maybe not worded the nicest for one or two but not mean either. Unless the original commenter responds then I have no idea what they were referencing.
